Fantastic Family Site

We took our grandsons and found it to be fantastic, the site was really clean and the staff really helpful, everything you could need or want within walking distance, we also visited Barrow Hill Roundhouse railway, well worth a visit and so close to the site (small donation for admittance). We will be returning to the site again.

Excellent as usual.

Shower/toilet block spotless and to the usual standard that we have found at the caravan club. The way the pitches are laid out made pitching and hooking up very easy. Overall could not fault our stay.

a nice new site.

the site is located close to junction 29a 0f the m1. The area was all coal pits at one time, but it as been landscaped, with lots of paths for cycling and walking, a nice lake in the country park, 50 metres away. Ideal spot for visiting places like chesterfield, Hardwick hall, Bolsover castle and many other places of interest. This was our fist visit, but in will not be the last.

A few days during the half term break

This was our second visit to Poolsbrook and we weren't disappointed ! It is so convenient for visiting my son and newly born grandson who live in South Sheffield. An immaculatey clean site with a warm and friendly welcome from the wardens.  It was the half term break and so it was lovely to see the site being well used by families; children were out on bikes and scooters enjoyng the fresh air and freedom. This made a welcome change from our previous visit a few weeks ago when it was very quiet! We would highly recommend a visit to Poolsbrook - I look forward to our next visit in a couple of weeks time.

Good location

We've just enjoyed a few nights stay at this well maintained site. Good cycling and running along the Trans Pennine trail path. The only gripe we had, is the timing of the toilet/shower block cleaning which is between 10.30 & 1200. The site leaving time is just before 12.00, and if you go for a run or bike ride and want a shower before you leave the site, you have to make sure you are back before 10.30. If the cleaning time was 11.30 onwards, the stay would have been marked 10 out of 10. Would recommend this site to both singles and families - something for everyone.

Fantastic for cycling

This was our first visit to Poolsbrook and we booked it as it was so close to the Trans-Pennine trail. For family cycling the site cannot be beaten. There are no roads involved and you can either ride into the park itself or on the trails. The site is clean and feels very well maintained. Chesterfield is worth a visit to look around the shops and the large market which was on when we visited on the Friday. The takeaway pizza from Stavely which is only a couple of minutes drive away was lovely.

Third visit Half Term

Hi yes third time on this park, as usual its very clean and tidy, connecting road is still being worked on so had to turn back and go up M1 1 junction. Had nice walk round lakes etc but its very cold. Went to local supermarket which sells everything (Morrisons) you could want. Club should put a stop to Children racing round Park on Bikes, many older members using the Park have to skip out of the way as kids race around. Wardens should help stop this Parents should stop this as it spoils the older folk from their enjoyment of a lovely Park

Will visit again (in term time)

Great site and lovely and clean. Friendly welcome and all the facilities you need. Easy access off the M1. Well done CC. Nice walks around the lake and Morrisons only 20 minutes walk away. Very peaceful. However (and at this point I will sound like a grump) we forgot about half term and on the second day the paths turned into the usual race track and the toilet standards plummeted. Not the fault of CC or the site wardens, just poorly supervised children. Lesson learned. But don't let that put you off. A really good site and can only get better as the landscaping matures. Will be back!!
