A great 1st visit

Our first visit to Poolsbrook and we have already re-booked for another stay. An easy drive / tow from the M1 with good wide access to the site. You'll receive a helpful warm practical welcome and with generous level pitch sizes, it's easy to get settled. This site provides great access to all that the Peak District has to offer; plus nice walks immediately from the site (lakes and trail just off the site). Dog friendly, O2 and Vodafone friendly and site TV booster ensures you get to watch TV if that's a must for you. We made new friends in the relaxing Poolsbrook atmosphere and we recommend a visit...

What a Super Site!

Being new to caravanning this was our first ever trip and I cannot praise this site highly enough! Wardens were really nice and very helpful, they gave us an easy pitch and helped us hook up. The facilities were spotlessly clean, warm and spacious and the pitches and whole site were incredibly well kept. Lovely Country Park on the doorstep with miles of level walks and the trans-Pennine trail running past. So peaceful, will definitely visit again.

bank holiday weekend

felt I have to add something to the comment made about someone criticising children playing, I was there at the weekend ,due to the motorway being closed I got lost trying to find my way there so not arrive till late so all the hardstanding pitches were gone leaving only 3 grass ones ,the grass pitch I went on was at the end of a row ,so a lot of kids were racing around the site on their bikes and I mean racing so taking short cuts through the middle of my pitch as I only have a small camper I not take up much room on my pitch but that doesn't mean everyone can walk or cycle through it to take a short cut ,respect my privacy after all I wouldnt walk through your awning to take a short cut ,stop being lazy and walk round ,I'm not saying kids shouldn't play but racing each other is not on ,had i moved off my pitch I may not have seen a child cutting the corner ,nice site all the same lovely for doggies

Will return

Just back from a short break over bank holiday - lovely site - very very friendly and accommodating wardens - they were great with my two kids - only a short distance from m1 - country park next door had good play park with lots of different apparatus - nice walk to a peaceful nature reserve - all in all a nice relaxing stay - shame that another member had to criticise children for playing/cycling and doing nothing wrong other than enjoy themselves but never mind!!

Great for kids

Excellent well kept site, lovely staff, spacious pitches. Shower facilities were spacious and exceptionally clean! Very easy to get to as just off  M1.  The Country park(next door)has a really good play park for the kids. They couldn't get bored! Will definitely use this site again!

I'll be back !!

Recently stayed at Poolsbrook for 3 nights. Very clean site, friendly wardens and easy to find just off junction 29a of the M1.  Well sheltered site and a lovely walk around the park and woodland. Easy bike ride into Chesterfield as the areas is very flat. Large level pitches. We will definitely be visiting again.

Top class site

Stayed 1 night April 2015.  Great wardens, spotless site, large pitch, super shower/loo block, maturing greenery, loads for kids to do especially Poolsbrook Country Park next door.  Will I use this site again? Yes - and for longer next time.

A Great Site

We have been staying at Poolesbrooke 2 or 3 each year since it opened. We have many lovely walks from the site, seeing the Chesterfield canel develope each time we go. The site is clean and the wardens are very helpful and friendly albeit he is a notts forest fan we are Derby good friendly banter between us.

A quiet break

Stayed in Feb. Seems spacious but facilities well sited an not too far from any pitch. Modern, clean and well looked after, as others have said close to the motorway. Serviced pitches excellent. Site seemed a bit open with bushes still getting established. The adjacent country park is a fairly open lake with access to some walks along public footpaths. The site seemed a bit out of the way on the edge of an industrial estate and unlit on the final approaches making it daunting if you ventured out late on foot. All in all a nice site but feels a bit isolated.
