Very convenient in all aspects

Easy to find and check in. Good pitches and tv booster on bollard. (You need a uhf to uhf cable. an old fashioned aerial connector.) Stayed only one night en route elsewhere but will return. Only comment was price- we use cls and rallies so £20 a night in late Oct seemed high. Lots to do in area.

Very accesible site

A very accessible site just off junction 29a of the M1. Facilities always clean and spotless. Use this site regularly as daughter lives near. Excellent facilities for children just outside site entrance.

Lovely surprise

I've read comments regarding the approach through an industrial area, for goodness sake, it's a modern estate clean and tidy. The check in was pleasant enough and the site is very spacious. Please read the instructions on the electric hook-up and twist the connection to get a live feed. Again, I've read comments about the pitches not having any hedges between them. They don't need anything as the pitches are so generous, privacy is guaranteed. The toilet/shower block was always very clean and well presented. The real advantage to this site is the country park straight off it. It is huge with numerous lakes and miles of walks, our Springer was in heaven. If you have children, the play area in the park is brilliant and safe for them. We enjoyed it so much that we've cancelled our booking between Christmas and new year elsewhere and booked here. Easy access off the M1, clean spacious site, walks, biking and the dogs love it.

Quiet haven in Industrial area

A lovely site which is right near an industrial estate on one side and the lovely Pools Brook Park on the other. nice and quiet with instant access to the park which provides some lovely walks, several lakes and a nature trail, great for dogs. You can see the M1 in the distance but no noise. site facilities very good and clean housed in a very modern style building - unusual. Good road links to Chesterfield and other Derbyshire towns. Only one criticism, unusually for a Club site the grass was very long and looked untidy, evidently was not due to be cut again until April.

One of our favourite weekend locations

It is always a pleasure to visit Poolsbrook Club Site. The site is always very clean well kept, with outstanding amenities. Ideally located to spend a relaxing weekend where you can just stroll out of the site and walk around Poolsbrook Country Park.

Great site for cycling

Our first visit but will not be our last.  first impressions  clean, tidy and spacious. Excellent road and pathways and a wonderful amenity block. Thought it had only just opened! Just out of the site down a small hill is the lake with a pathway suitable for walking or cycling right around it. Judging by the many fishermen must be well stocked with fish. Lots of wildlife. For children a really good park area. Also a coffee shop but this was closed for the winter. Just out of the site gates on your left is a trail which leads to Staveley -(right at the t junction and left for chesterfield (said a bit harder trail). We took the Staveley way which takes to to the town where there is a Morrisons. Site is in easy driving reach of Chesterfield where there is a good market on Saturdays and big retail park as well as many shops. Bakewell, Chatsworth house and Matlock are all within easy reach for days out. So much to see we will have to return.

Why have we not been here before?

On our trips to and from Scotland we have used Clumber Park as a break in the journey but this time they were fully booked hence we gave Poolsbrook a go. The few miles extra were well worth it as the warm welcome alone made up for the miles. Then to find the site with it well kept large piches and immaculate facilities made it even better. With the quality of the site we are sure it will not be as quiet at a weekend but the space between pitches should still make for a good break. Well done to the club and its staff.

Quite and good Walking

Just stayed here from the 6th Oct to the 11th Oct, approach to site a little rough watch for the potholes and speed ramps! Wardens were helpful and polite and the site although small for the amount of pitches is immaculately maintained and the toilet block spotless and spacious. This is a great site for walking as there is not just Poolsbrook park and the fishing lakes but also numerous other walks from the site. Staveley town just up the road is becoming rather run down but a visit to Chesterfield is well worth the 20 minute trip. And Clumber Park and Nottingham forest are also within a 30 minute drive. So all in all I would highly recommend this site not just as a stop of due to its position nr the M1 but also for longer stays as the area has plenty to offer, The site is also surprisingly quite given its closeness to the motorway and noise from the surrounding roads is not an issue.

Poolsbrook

Another lovely stay at poolsbrook , the staff make this site lovely and clean , which is why I want to moan at the dirty inconsiderate amount of members that think it's ok to not clean the loo after use , is this how you leave your own loo at home , if so don't invite me? As if the wardens have not got enough to do they clean your mess , also why do members not wipe the pot washing sinks down when they use them , so others members don't have to do it for you , a handful of onions and various bits of food left in sink !,, disgusting and I hope the members concerned read this review and think of the hardworking wardens and other members,, !
