Great views but sloping pitches
As others have said, the views are stunning, the site is well-cared for and the wardens are very helpful. But the drawback of this site for motorhomes is that almost all pitches have a pronounced slope (or slopes) and are difficult to get level even with ramps. Maybe not such an issue for caravans, and of course the natural contours make some slope unavoidable. But could the CC not re-engineer at least some pitches to make them more level? Ideally with hardcore surfacing stretching to the onsite road so you don't have to drive over grass to get on and off pitches. (I recognise there may be planning constraints in such a sensitive location.)
The nearby pub the Delaval Arms is great - good range of beers, well-kept, Good Beer Guide listed, and seems a real local.
Generally quiet, apart from occasional boy racers in the adjacent public car park. Great walks into Whitley Bay, and good bus link into Newcastle.
