Lovely level site in a beautiful spot on the Moors. Fabulous for walks, sunsets and deer spotting! Easy to drive to the Whitby Park and Ride for a hassle free Whitby visit.
Dissapointed
Having stayed at this site several times unfortunately I have to say this was by far the worst visit. The usual wardens Kev and Karen were away which was a great shame as the wardens looking after the site did not uphold the excellent standards set by Kev and Karen.
Bins were overflowing regularly, dog waste bin were not emptied, rules on site were not been implemented, on several occasion loose dogs strolled into our awning.
I have a booking again for October and I shall be checking Kev and Karen have returned before I make my way to the campsite.
Worth a visit.
Excellent site .
More spacious than some other club sites
No toilet block suits us as we use our own.
Needs fully serviced pitches to be any better
Plenty of places to visit. Mostly dog friendly.
9.9 out of 10.

An oasis of calm.
This was our 5th visit to this quite secluded site over several years and the peaceful ambience has remained constant throughout. The current wardens are extremely helpful and friendly and do everything they can to make your stay relaxed.
There are a myriad of places to visit and pleasant walks to undertake in this beautiful area of the North Yorkshire moors and the adjacent coastline. Whitby is only 6 miles away and Scarborough c15 for those wanting a busier seaside experience. Walks to Falling Foss waterfall and the pleasant cafe there start directly from the site.
All in all great site in a beautiful location. Highly recommended.
Peaceful, some great walks
Stayed here 3 or 4 times now. Friendly lady warden on reception. Lovely and secluded site with no traffic noise. Some great walks down to Falling Foss waterfall, the Hermitage and across the moor to Robin Hood's Bay. Close to Whitby and the wonderful dog friendly beach there. Will definitely be back.
Fabulous site, peaceful & beautiful a wee gem & we didn't care it had no toilet block
We arrived at 4.30pm ish to a lovely warm welcome. The warden said she was sorry we only had a choice of 3 pitches left, but we could move the next day if we wished. However we selected our pitch and it was just fabulous, no need to move. The dog loved the dog walks, the site is immaculate. We used the information to get to the cinder path and I cycled to Robin Hoods Bay ( albeit on electric bike, i needed it on the way back). We enjoyed playing crazy golf, especially me as i won.
It was a fabulous start to our Tour of Yorkshire. Thank you so much.

Lovely site.
We like this site very much, from the hard working Wardens to the good dog walk. The walk down to the beach
near Whitby golf club seems to be getting longer and steeper, but maybe that's just me.
Today I have seen everything!, A Caravan coming in behind two Motorhomes, and whilst waiting to go into the office
the driver pulls a folding chair off the back seat of his car and runs across the site to place it on a pitch.
Obviously done it before?
Peaceful site in away from it all location
Visited in June for second year running in our motorhome. We love the peaceful 'away from it all' feeling on this site and its a good base to visit Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay etc. Nice walks from site if you don't want to drive and great cafe at Falling Foss.
Not as advertised!
Firstly there is no toilet block. Although this is clear in the listing and we thought it would be ok, we did miss it and would avoid in future where possible. The club listing says wi-fi and good TV signal, this was not our experience. Absolutely no wi-fi or TV signal was found at our pitch. It's possible that there might have been wi-fi at reception, but we didn't test it. The wardons were lovely but are only available at limited times.

Nice Peaceful Site
We stayed here for 7 nights in May. Nice quiet site. We chose pitch number 44 which was nicely tucked away in the trees and backing onto the dog walk. This was great for walking the dog but we were unable to get any clear tv signal - with both aerial and satellite dish. Our own fault so if we returned we would pick a bit more wisely.
We took the train from Grosmont to Goathland which was a really good day out. We chose to walk back from Goathland on the rail trail which was a fairly easy 3.5 mile walk. The train allows dogs for a small fee.
If you have a dog we can also recommend the beach at Sandsend. Easy to walk down to and only 20 pence to park.
If we were going back to the area we would probably stay here again.
