What a fab campsite. My Satnav took me to 2 different area's which were nowhere near where the camp site was. I decided to give the site a ring advising that I was lost and how to find them. I had to phone twice during the journey just to make sure I was heading in the right direction. Each time the steward was helpful and patient with me. On arrival, advising that I'm not very good at reversing the steward came to help me. This was at the start of storm Antonia so he got rather wet but didn't once complain. The site is a bit off the beaten track but in the middle of a small woody area. It's very quite and tranquil. I was only here for 3 nights - due to work, but I've booked for another week-end, just hoping the weather is better and I can tag on a few days at the end.
This is our 3rd time here at this wonderful site and one of our favourites.
It is so peaceful and relaxing.
Wardens are very helpful and friendly. Dog walks are excellent and our dog can't wait for his walk.
Away from the site there is so much to see and do with superb beaches and of course castles and Whitby Abbey.
What a welcome from Karen & Kevin on explaining we were new to this club they quickly explained how it all works, not a rule mentioned and a brilliant description of the site lay out. We couldn't ask for a friendlier start.
The site is very quiet and peaceful, that could be from there being no toilet block and not having the endless to and fro from it.
The wildlife on site is amazing. Plenty of walking but mind the ticks on the moors!
Whitby is pleasant but for goodness sake use the park and ride, it is good. Our neighbour on site didn't and spent sometime telling me what a mistake it was to drive down into Whitby.
The phone signal on site is dire and very hit and miss, a good thing? We did get some signal in the caravan both on EE, so you can look up stuff if you are patient (think 20 years ago speeds).
Overall we had a great time on this site and will definitely be back.
The two mangers on this site are amazing. One of our van broken down as we entered the site. Was so helpful and understanding. Even moved our pitches so could be close to the van that had broken down until RAC came. So helpful
The campsite lovely apart from no signal and phone network.
5 star some other sites need to take note and training from the two mangers here
Just returned home from 10 nights stay at the site clean and well kept you can see that Kevin and Karen have a great deal of pride in what they do and how much they enjoy what they do nothing is ever too much trouble and we stayed here two years ago and when we came back they remembered. We had booked the in laws in for the last 4 days of our stay and they we also impressed how much work goes into the site and how well it looks. There aren’t any facilities on site as it states but we tend to use ours more often than not so not really an issue not many children the week we stayed and it was half term which for us is more appealing if your looking for a relaxed and peaceful or a trip to the coast without it been really busy then this is the site to book
Thanks to Kevin and Karen for another great holiday and we will see you again soon
Our first time visiting the area of Whitby.
A lovely quiet, spacious site with plenty of amentity points and kept tidy.
Several walks from site and stopped for lunch at the hare and hounds pub when driving back from the Abbey.
We really enjoyed the more spacious site without the normal huge shower/toilet block and the much more reasonable prices.
Would definitely recommend our 2 Jack Russell's enjoyed the dogs walks on site.
Thanks to the on site staff very friendly and helpful it does make all the difference
An excellent site offering great views and value for money.
Important; No toilet block so you need a self-contained unit.
Very pleased with this site just a short drive away from Robin Hoods bay.
It is set out superbly offering generous space for your van.
There are several Waste facilities for your convenience
You can walk direct from the site into the beautiful Little beck valley & Falling foss waterfall.
Very happy to recommend
We recently stayed on this lovely peaceful site for a week. The wardens are very friendly and helpful. An ideal site for dog owners with two brilliant woodland dog walks on the site and lots more great walks nearby, including Falling Foss waterfall and tea room. The Park and Ride is easily accessible for travel to Whitby. Robin Hoods Bay, only a short distance away, is fascinating and parking for motorhomes good at the Station Car Park. We had a very enjoyable stay at this Club Site, highly recommended.
Just returned from a peaceful break at this wonderful site the wardens Karen and Kev were so friendly. Despite having no toilet block they always seemed busy cutting the grass or tending to the lovely flower displays at the water points and always entering into conversation. With no toilet block not to every ones taste but we always use onboard facilities. The plus point to that is if you fancy a long lie then you dont get wakened by the early morning shower members going about their business and chatting to each other on passing. This is not an adult only site but it has no childrens playground and on the four nights we stayed there were no children on site so might not be to that suitable for families this is not meant to be a criticism as we should be hopefully next year bringing our 5 year old granddaughter with us on her first caravan adventure
Visited this site recently for 2 night stay. Was greeted by the site managers who were very helpful and pleasant. Site is hidden and very peaceful and is a long way from Whitby, 5 miles!! Taxi's aren't cheap either in to Whitby from there, nearest park and ride is along way off.
Was disappointed that there wasn't any showers/toilet block or any washing facilities. (My own fault we should have read the small print). Sad to say that we will not be visiting here again, due to them not having basic facilities which isn't really reflected in the price of the pitch.
