Shocking
The best bit was the view, that's we we choose this site, that and to do Oban. This was the first and will be our last visit to an affiliated site. Some campers gave your pitch no grace, even walked between our car and caravan even. Despite moving our car they still walked close enough to touch. I agree with the below, not the most friendly site either. The toilets were dirty, seems some campers don't clean them out, I bore witness to many. Grass filled showers, manky plug holes, and push to go taps. Made washing up a pain, couldn't fill the bowl as was forever pushing buttons. Staff friendly and helpful, the welcome talk may as well include a bit about respecting pitch privacy! As they covered everything else, OK great PR but I'd rather get on pitch asap after along drive not sit through war and peace. No pitch markers, so you have to be shown to the pitch = more delays. 10amp site, you can easily trip the pitch trip, the whole site can in fact trip out under heavy load:( Well stocked shop, ideal for those emergency meals. Post box also in the shop near reception. Good play ground, good walking and dog area/walk as old train lines. The Creagan Inn is fab, 10mins drive Northwards, pricey, but great views, service and food:) We wont be back, 2 nights is enough we stayed for three and were happy to leave. Do Oban, a seal trip in a boat and the Tower(ample parking). I must question when this site was last reviewed by the Club. I do not feel it deserves Club backing. Its a Caravaning Site on an industrial scale, and it shows! We'd choose another. This is the worse site review I have ever had to write.
Fantastic views.
Motorhome pitches
On arrival quick check in, no waiting around lots of staff on reception. Shown to pitch by warden and all facilities explained by him once at pitch. All motorhome hard standing pitches seemed to be in same area with easy access & great views. Back onto old railway which is the dog walk, which is low down in relation to the pitch, so no problems.( we have a dog so a bonus to have dog walking area in middle of site) Great shop on site, best we've ever seen on a site. 2 x motorhome service points, so no waiting to empty/fill , one with toilet cassette empty/wash/dose machine for £2.00 which is a novelty... once for 2 quid! Water pressure is low ( as are most sites in this area) so filling takes a little while to top up the tanks. Electric hook up points are locked so be careful not to overload or trip breaker (sorry didn't note rating of breaker) but have 24/7 response on site number to reset if needed. Didn't use the washroom/toilet facilities,(use my own on board van) but had a look and were very clean.Overall great site, every pitch has a view.
Great views
This site has lovely views but I found it too regimented. Some pitches have very long walks to the toilet block! It appeared to be good for families but we stayed here as a couple, so it's hard to make an accurate comment.
