Great site to access the Broads

Just back from a great week at this site, a very well managed site by the friendly and helpful warden team, notably Michael and Gwyneth. Very spacious pitches. Great access to the nearby river (about 200 metres) ideal to launch canoes or kayaks. Good cycling routes nearby, get a decent map to find lanes, but beware of dead end lanes at water courses! Overall a very enjoyable stay.

Highly recommended

Loved our stay here. Beautiful location. Usual perfect washrooms which we have come to expect from CMC. Five minute walk to The Dog pub which serves perfectly acceptable pub grub and good ales. Same time to walk to the river and community shop and Café. Twenty minute drive to park and ride for a day out in Norwich (beautiful city). Will definitely be back.

Better once I took my hearing aids out

This is a really nice site, well kept with good clean facilities. However it is noisy what with dogs incessantly barking, motorcycles being repaired and tuned up next door and at the moment also harvesting on the farm not that I object to that as we actually live in a rural location in Suffolk and are used, at the moment, to contractors harvesting in the fields. I worry about the hearing of members who say that it is a peaceful site, frankly it only became so after I removed my hearing aids, perhaps that is what they did too. Forgive the negatives, the site is well placed for the touring round the Broads and as a base it should be recommended. We enjoyed our stay but would probably choose somewhere else next time.

Well kept site - perhaps a little too well kept

Nice site but continual cutting of grass shattered our peace and quiet. Went to How Hill for look round gardens which were free - had light lunch there which was delicious and very reasonable. Wifi on site £3.50 a day ! Went to Dog pub up the road for a beer and free wifi. Beach at Winterton on Sea sandy and great for walking - saw seals in water. Little store at Ludham Bridge (left out of site) handy and sell lovely 99s. Walked into Ludham village via narrow road (signposted footpath) very little traffic - lovely sausages from butchers plus sweetcorn from 'Lens Veg stall'

Our Norfolk Mini Tour Day one Thursday 19th August

Stayed here as part of our Tour of The Broads and Norfolk from the North East . This site is near the river Ant as part of the Broads network but most of the Main Hire points and main marinas are not really walking distance from this site . Saved by a Pub just next to the site which had great staff a cheap and cheerful menu and decent beer selection . Only a 100 yards away from the gate . The guys in the mobile pitzza van was " fully booked up" at 4pm. No wonder theyre expensive.... Wouldnt you make up some pasta or other food and sell it hot to take away like a chippy would ? Site has good layout and Well spaced out pitches good facilities. great wardens well kept all round . Very helpful . Good mobile signal and booster TV on the hook up. We did walk along to the moorings to see a few boats and were a bit taken back as some hire boats looked a bit poor condition Hoped to take a day boat but couldnt book one anywhere . So..... no Pitzza and no boats available to day hire or bad planning on our part ? Too many on staycation in Norfolk . Nice place and nice people . however Norfolks roads, mostly single lane seem to struggle with the traffic volume and it seems to take ages to get from A to B. Every roundabout seems to have a queue !!. A bit of "levelling up on roads" needed Prime Minister .

Lovely Site

Stayed here in June for a spot of fishing and although the fishing was a little disappointing the site was lovely. Wardens are cheerful, helpful and very efficient. The toilet block was immaculate and the Pizza's are yummy. The only small gripe is the motorhome service point has a wide bore hose connector permanently fixed to the fresh water tap. The vast majority of motorhomer's use their own hozelock hose connection systems to fill their onboard water tanks, due to their large capacity of around 100 litres. Unfortunately, If you have a hozelock connector on your hose you cannot use the fresh water tap in the motorhome service bay! In fact I had to pull up to the next available water supply (with no hose connector) just a few yards along to enable me to fill up my tank. However, I was now partially blocking the road. It does seem a little short sighted not having a standard tap with a thread so that we can connect our own hoses and fill up in the safety of the bay.

Charming site

We stayed on this site the last week in July '21. We had plot 13 which is just a couple of minutes from the reception / shop, shower block and facilities, and also a gated playground. The site was very well kept and all the facilities were lovely and clean, the last lot of covid restrictions had just been announced that week and so not everyone was wearing masks using the facilities, but there is hand sanitiser everywhere you would need it. The showers were really good, nice and powerful and good at holding the temperature. 5 minutes walk out of the site takes you to a small grocery/gift shop, cafe which does takeout too and a tackle/bait shop, and then the river at Ludham Bridge, it's nice to walk down there and watch the boats, or even do a spot of fishing on an evening. There's also a few walks that start from the river bank. Walk right out of the site and The Dog Inn pub is within a few minutes walk, they serve food until 8pm but the kitchen was closed due to Ill health on our stay, so we ate at the Kings Arms on a couple of occasions, which is a 20 minute walk down Hall common Rd, or a 5 minute drive from the site. The site is a good base to visit other villages and rivers from and also about a 20 to 30 minute drive to the nearest beaches, Horsey beach is where you can see lot's of seals swimming and basking on the beach. We also hired a fishing boat for the full day from Womack waters which isn't far away and was only £75, it was only basic so great if fine weather is forecast. We visited Hows Hill Trust and Gardens which is a must if you appreciate that kind of thing, stunning gardens and scenery with a lovely tea room with amazing cakes. The site itself has a pizza van that comes on a Tuesday and Saturday evening, but I would advise you to book a slot in advance, you can get information from reception about this. Just trying to order one without a slot and you'll be disappointed, well worth trying them though, lovely pizza's. There was also an ice cream van that came round the site and stopped right outside our van about 7pm every evening. All in all this is a lovely site with very friendly wardens that do a brilliant job to keep the site running in a safe and professional way.

Great location

Had a lovely stay here and would thoroughly recommend staying there.. A very pretty site in a great location. Some large pitches. Grounds well maintained. Very friendly staff. Perfect location for exploring the broads and surrounding areas. Will definitely visit again as we still have many places to visit.

Happy site

The wardens were very friendly and helpful. Other campers were happy to stop and talk. A quiet friendly site. We visited local RSPB sites and Great Yarmouth for ice cream. Local traffic was not too busy and we were lucky with the weather.

Lovely Break to Norfolk Broads

This was our first visit to the site. The site is beautifully maintained. Staff were very helpful. Very peaceful despite having read earlier reviews about noise. Would highly recommend!
