Beautiful site that is kept spotless

This site is perfect in almost every way, the only negative, and itโ€™s really not enough to knock off any stars, but may well do if things donโ€™t change because itโ€™s something that is becoming more and more important to more and more of us, like it or notโ€ฆโ€ฆ..the WiFi. I donโ€™t know how good the WiFi is because Quite frankly I was not prepared to pay ยฃ3.50p per night for a single device, to me, that is extortionate and I cannot believe it costs a fraction of that to supply it. Other than that, itโ€™s a lovely site.

Bike theft still a major problem

Fabulous site, great location and facilities but plagued by regular bike theft. No specific warnings on site to keep bikes locked at all times and out of sight. Surrounding hedges and fences have obviously been breached to provide escape route for thieves. Truly wonderful site but CAMC needs to do considerably more to protect members from regular thefts.

Excellent but ...

We stayed over the Early May Bank Holiday and had a lovely time. Everything about the site either met or exceeded our expectations and we were very pleased - and more importantly - look forward to returning But - the 5mph rule - I would say that 25% of people adhere to it - 50% creep over it but not by much - and the other 25% ignore it - believing this rule doesn't apply to them - even hitched up. What is more worrying is the belief that 5mph rule doesn't apply to bicycles and scooters. When - and not if - an accident is going to happen on site, where a pedestrian is run into and hurt - it will more than likely be a bicycle or scooter. Someone is going to get hurt unless something can be done about this.

Lovely site

This is a really nice site with very good facilities. The wardens were very friendly and helpful and added to our good experience. The food vans which visit the site - fish and chips, pizza and chilli - are all excellent.

5Stars

Wardens very helpful when we arrived and we had made an error on our booking, even though site nearly full they managed to sort us out. Site very clean and wardens very friendly. Lots to do in the area.

Brilliant Halloween stay, already booked for next year !

Love visiting this site in the beautiful new forest and near to home, so not far to travel either. Arrived on Friday 29th October to find site decorated with many Halloween decorations and lights, and all the wardens dressed up, even a photo booth with free photos, and party food in reception ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽƒ๐ŸŽƒ Such a shame site unable to stay open all year due to short sighted council not allowing this !! Visited a few times this year and love going to this site, so clean and well maintained, lovely pitches and facilities already booked for next Halloween and will be booking many more trips to this lovely site next year. Also so near to visit many places Burley, Christchurch, Bournemouth to mention a few Be back again soon ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Nice well maintained site

We stayed for four nights in October on a serviced pitch, this was our second visit but the first time mid week and not just a quick weekend break. Arrival and check in was hassle free and the wardens friendly and very helpful, and remained that way throughout our stay. The site itself is a very high standard and although we used our own facilities during the stay we did check out the toilets and showers, everything was spotless. We took advantage of the Chilli van and the Fish & Chips, both extremely tasty and good value for money. Lots of walks and cycling right on your doorstep and if you are interested in World War 2 history, especially airfields, this is the place for you. We found lots of evidence of the wartime airfield, including lots of items hidden away of the beaten track. We will definitely return.

Good site BUT

We visit this site at least twice per year, usually for 2 weeks at a time. Good facilities, good wardens, well kept site, everything we have gone to expect of the club. Now the BUT. It is becoming increasingly annoying and to be perfectly honest disgusting the way other members with dogs seem to deem it acceptable to allow their โ€œbest friendโ€ to foul in any place they choose. This includes the grass between pitches or behind other peopleโ€™s vans. It got to the point that two people came out of their vans let the dog do itโ€™s motions behind our van, admittedly clear up(which incidentally still leaves some deposit) snd go back to their van. Bearing in mind this is right opposite the dog walk. Anyone, including children can get dog mess on them just by walking or sitting on the grass. Urine, has the same effect. It is completely unacceptable behaviour to put others through this disgusting habit. This is not exercising your dog, itโ€™s allowing it to do a toilet. The club should really clamp down on this disgusting behaviour, believe it or not, there are people who do not have dogs and do not want to have to keep looking out for others peoples disgusting mess. Itโ€™s about time people started to act responsibly with their pets, even to the point of not leaving pets unattended in vans while they go out and enjoy themselves. This is not confined to this site.

Great site, but not the best location for us

Stayed here two nights in October 2021, It's a shame the fish and chip van only visits on one day a week (I think), so you can easily miss out. We moved from here from to the Black Knowl site, which for us is better located as you can commence severly stunning walks directly from the site. So Black Knowl will be our first choice next year! There were cycles available to hire outside reception (all done by an App) Several non-electric and only one electric. The barrier facility is a joke, because when you leave you have to deposit your fob in a rotten old red box with an unlocked lid, so anyone could retrieve a key from it and would be able to operate the incoming and outgoing barriers. At least Black Knowl had a steel box with a narrow opening
