Easter 2017

We use this site when we wish to liaise with our daughter and family on the Isle of Wight. It is well situated for travel purposes and there is plenty to do in the area. On our most recent visit we were disappointed that the wardens were overly concerned with the aesthetics of having all vans sited facing in the same direction. We wanted to park nose in to level our motorhome and instead were made to turn and chock making it a higher than necessary step up to get inside. We visited 4 other club sites over the course of this holiday and none of these were concerned about our orientation other than the usual and necessary health and safety considerations.

Brilliant holiday in the forest

Although not as cycle friendly as black knowl, this is a great site to explore from. Having not been since 2002, it is amazing what a difference there is in the site layout, trees and shrubbery now established. Wardens are some of the best around - cannot do enough and make this a great site. Thx

Easter in the New Forest

Being Easter we expected the site to be very busy and noisy, we were very pleasantly surprised as although full, there was very little noise, the children's facilities were large and meant that there was plenty of space to keep them occupied. The wardens were excellent, some of the best I have encountered in all my stays at various club sites, a very warm welcome, nothing was too much trouble, a very relaxing stay.

Great say in the new forest

This is a great site if the want to visit the new forest, the facilities are of a very good standard. Lots of places to walk and a great park for the kids. We would give this site 10/10. We have booked for latter in the year.

A great site

We stayed here over the easter weekend and the wardens were very helpful and friendly and would highly recommend. Even though the site was full we found it a great site with a young family. The facilities were clean and well maintained. The only downside we found was the Wifi was really poor and wouldn't keep it's connection which is a pain for us as we had no mobile signal either! The location of the site is great - we particularly loved going to Mudeford Quay to go crabbing!

A site that NEVER disappoints

After yet another stay at this site I felt compelled to write a review, We have stayed here now a total of nine times either with grandchildren, with friends or on our own and have always found the site to be clean, well organised and well managed. The wardens are always very friendly, eager to please, always have a smile on their faces and no matter how busy they are they never complain. Last weekend, Easter, they were particularly busy with so many new arrivals etc, but still no grumbling and very welcoming to everyone. The site is ideally located within the new forest and offers so much from the amenities on site to the access to so much around locally, whether your passion is the animal life in the forest, the cycling and walking routes, the quaint little villages or the beaches nearby there is something for everyone! Our favourite is to drive to Hengistbury Head, park in their very large carpark, (take change for the meters), then walk along the beach to the beach huts opposite Mudeford Quay, stop for a cuppa in the little cafe there and then walk back along the cliff top on the nature walk to Hengistbury Visitors Centre, all sorts of interesting things in there including a little shop and interesting facts about the area, back to the car and off we go again! Warning, some of the cliff walk is a tad steep but if you can get up it the view is certainly worthwhile. We did try another caravan club site in The New Forest and were somewhat disappointed which proves that The Centenary Site is by far the best!!!

Very nice site

Lovely large flat site, because it's split up into smaller sections it feels much smaller than it is. Facilities are excellent and access very good. Handy for the couast, Bournemouth, Poole etc. and naturally the New Forest. Only slight down side is I would give the visiting chip van a miss, (April 17), frozen fish & chips heated up a fryer are just not very good.

Easter treat!

A maiden voyage for our family of 4, excellent first experience. Site well maintained, lovely hot showers, extremely clean and all staff helpful and friendly. Our 9 and 6 year old kids enjoyed water and refuse chores, playing in the park and - even at their age - enjoyed the 15m round cycle ride from site to Mudeford Quay! Ask for a map from reception or pick one up from the info centre next door. For very young children you will probably need your car for local eating establishments. One thing to note - to work properly, you need to turn the plug in the electric hook ups! Our battery drained, we learned by mistake and talking to fellow campers, many had made same mistake. A little notice or mention at booking would be a great help. Recommend a visit to Liberty's Owl & Reptile Centre, Crow Lane. Planning to return next Easter for more cycling!

Easter break

We stayed at the site over the Easter weekend - this is one of our favourite sites as it offers Forest and Coast. Took our bikes on the car to Hengistbury Head - you can park on the coast road for free - and rode to Bournemouth and back, total 20 miles which is flat along sea front. We wanted to walk from HIghcliffe beach to Barton-on-Sea but recent cliff falls prevent this at the moment so walked to Mudeford and back, total 5 miles. We also cycled the Sustrans route available from reception - the route is from the site into Mudeford Quay. Easier on the way there!! It's a total of 15 miles though not suited to young children. As always, site is very clean and wardens are very friendly
