New Forest Delight
Not really for us
Not what we are used to.
Arrived on site at 1.45pm and joined the queue to book in which we did not have a problem with but to be told quite forcefully to stay in our vehicle until we booked in was rather harsh especially after a long journey. There were only two caravans in front of us but it still took over 30 minutes for us to be allowed on site . Having been to this site several times we were rather disappointed at the state of the pitches especially the grass ones, which we prefer, Judging by the length of the grass they had not been cut for some time. The hedges and grass pathways are also looking neglected and were overgrown and in fact, unfortunately the site was looking altogether quite sad and unkept . On previous visits the site has always been well kept ! The upside to this is that one does not have to listen to the constant noise of the lawn mower, strimmer and hedge trimmer!! Site staff always looked and appeared to be rather glum which is not usual for this or any other club site that we have been on, My guess is that they are suffering the stress of managing 'covid' rules, which are much stricter here than the two previous sites we have been on on this trip. The office/ shop not opening until 10am is also rather unhelpful. Not withstanding the above we still enjoyed our stay and will come back again and hopefully the site it will be back to its usual high standard and the staff will be happy and smiling again.
Great place for our first outing as Caravaners!
Not what we have experienced in the past
