We stayed here 7 nights on the lower site. You could still hear the traffic, but it was quieter that the top site. The main problem was the toilet/shower block. Very dated and only two shower cubicles which were inadequate for number of pitches on the lower site. At the weekend, the site was full and you needed to set your alarm to get in the shower without having to wait! The site could also do with some hardstanding pitches. The site did get muddy in places when it rained. Drainage was poor. However, the wardens did their best and were pleasant. Close to buses into Winchester.
It was a good first CC site to stay at
As per previous reviewers, keep yours eyes open for the signs, the sat nav will take you past the turning, well ours certainly tried to. The lower field is much quieter than the top field.
The toilet block is dated but adequate and I never had to queue for a shower. The staff were excellent and very helpful, good bus service only a short walk from the site and lots to see in Winchester. The Science centre by the Holiday Inn is worth a visit, especial for kids, even big ones like us.
Had a power cut for several hours on our second afternoon/evening but not the fault of the site. We would certainly stay there again.
Watch for the sign!
A pretty, wooded site, which we almost missed because the sign is on a busy roundabout, immediately before the turn off. However the wardens were friendly and very helpful. A pub really close by if you fancy eating out. We stopped here for one night enough route for Cornwall but, if you were staying longer, we would advise pitching on the lower half of the site as a busy (and very noisy) road runs along the side of the top site.

Morn Hill The good and the bad
We have visited this site three times so far so clearly it has much to offer. On the plus side the location is really excellent with a very good bus service to Winchester every half hour. The other way it goes to Alton via some nice villages. This means the car can be left for the duration of your stay if you so wish. The big negative is the size and layout of the toilet/shower blocks. On the upper site just two very small showers are available in the men's side. Our big complaint is in respect of the washing up area which is located on the side of the toilet block with wide windows, always open, looking directly into the men's area. Men waiting to shower are clearly visible to people doing their washing up and are within touching distance of each other. Also the smell from the men's toilets wafting out towards those washing their dishes can be most unpleasant.
We were surprised to learn that people can arrive after 10.00 am at this site and many do. We were getting ready to leave and had a newcomer standing guard on our pitch waiting to take it over.
We understand from the warden that this site is council owned and they are reluctant to extend a longer lease which prevents investment in better facilities. We will no doubt visit this site again despite these issues but with improved facilities it would be really excellent.
Very pleasant site
I was greeted by a very friendly and helpful reception. The pitch I chose was very quiet and had plenty of room. The grass was well maintained and the hook ups easy to reach. A small area of grass was being used by some young lads playing cricket and football and this added to a very friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
The facilities were perhaps a little tired (only compared with some other sites I've visited) but meticulously clean.
There is a bus stop about 300yds down the road which took us into the centre of Winchester in about 5 mins. The last bus was around 18:30 which meant using a taxi later in the evening. This cost £12.00. We also walked to and from Winchester which took approximately 50 mins if you enjoy a bit of exercise.
Overall a very enjoyable weekend.
Another little treasure
A lovely quiet site even though near the main a road to everywhere. Not ideal for those with children as no playareas but great for us dog owners. But i fo wish other dog owners were more responsible i picking up their dogs pooh....its not that difficult!
Facilities reminiscent of school but worked and were spotless. The shower pressure amazing. Will definstely come back....also tne bus ride to Winchester was not arduous....not even with the dogs?
Made a last minute booking
And spent a beautiful summers evening on this beautiful site in early August...
Stunning views particularly as it is so close to main roads
But sadly let down by the toilet facilities which are spotlessly clean but in need of updating
Otherwise would highly recommend a visit
Facilities need urgent update
site well located for Winchester good bus service site well looked after by wardens but toilet block not up to cc standards old poorly maintained to small not enough shower's/ toilets for size of site all the comments in visitor book say same wouldn't go here again till up dated lets the club down
Stopover
We had booked this site for 3 nights but due to flooding from torrential rain, we had to book somewhere else and only stayed overnight.
It is well located for Winchester and overall had a nice atmosphere. The staff were friendly and welcoming.
We stayed the upper site and the ground was very soft. The toilet block definitely needs some updating but it was clean.
No facilities for the kids. The dog walk was adequate
Long weekend
A lovely four days, site is well looked after. We agree that the two toilet blocks need to be bigger.
