First site visit

The wardens at Morn Hill were extremely helpful and friendly. They clearly work very hard to maintain the very limited facilities. Overall we were very disappointed with the lack of facilities, there being only 2 showers for the top area in the mens and womens rooms. There were 4 ladies waiting for a shower as both were occupied (9am 31st Oct.) 2 ladies left without taking a shower and 2 continued to wait. The grounds were very wet after a period of constant rain, therefore the grass was very muddy. This was to be expected in this type of weather. It does say in the write up that there are no hard standings, but surely hard standings should now be on every Club site now, as more of us wish to tour during the winter months.

Location,location,location

I stayed for a few days in September 2015. The only reason to stay here is the excellent location with access to the coast, Winchester and nice country villages nearby. The site is well maintained with level grass areas where I was - the usual CC indeterminate piich areas. A number of seasonal pitches conspired with visitors to make the site full most of the 5 days of my stay. No WiFi, as is usual on CC sites (what a pain), and no TV reception where I was (no problem, I don't watch much TV anyway). Facilities old, tired but clean: usually infested with crane flies when I was there - the time of year and the open louvre windows I guess.

first Site Visit

This was our first visit to a club site with our new motorhome it is a very nice site and we'll maintained. The only criticism we could make was a bigger dog walk would have been appreciated.

Autumn visit

Travelled from stay on I.O.W. First time here as we wanted to be near Winchester for which it is ideal. The signage at the roundabout leading to the site entrance could be clearer as it's easy to miss first time. Two completely separate levels with their own barriers and facility blocks with lower level more open. No hardstanding but grass perfectly ok with recent good weather. Might have to choose carefully if staying in wet weather. Agree with other comments about age/therefore style of showers etc. but very clean and well maintained as was the site generally with friendly staff and ease of travel to Winchester and surrounding area.

Perfect Location

This site is located perfectly for access to the South Downs, Winchester, The New Forest and ferries to the Isle of Wight. Positioned on a bus route 3 miles from Winchester makes getting to and from Winchester simple. The site itself has all most serious caravanners could possibly require. With a small shop on site for the essentials, shops, Restaurants and Winchester nearby you aren't likely to starve to death. Situated on the edge of some lovely countryside there are walks to be had nearby or drives along the quiet country roads. If you want a club house and amusements this site is not for you but hey don't you use your caravan to get away from all that. I know I do.

Give them a chance

This is a pleasent site but the facilities are tired and not up to modern standards compared to most main club sites. The buildings are due a referb, no wi-fi, but give the wardens full credit, they do the best with what they have and the washroom blocks were spotless and the site well kept, sort the place out and they would work wonders. Whilst we were there a caravan caught fire and was totally destroyed but it certainly brought home the sense of the distance required between vans, the fire extended at least 10 feet both sides of the van, had it happened on some commercial sites where the gaps are closer then it would have been a major concern.

Good - under the circumstances.

Apparently the club do not own this site in its entirety and this probably explains the lack of investment as others have mentioned. The showers really are a problem, small,no seating and a couple of hooks are what you get and every time the block door was opened the (cold, wet) shower curtain blew against you. Once really was enough. Road noise could be a problem on the upper site but the wardens did warn us as there were choices away from the road and we had no problems at all. The site is well maintained, the wardens friendly and the location is great (bus into Winchester a few minutes away). This could be a great site with some investment but I can understand the CC's dilemma.

Lovely location

This has to be one of the best located sites south of the Thames. I believe that there is some doubt as to whether the lease on the site is going to be renewed and this is preventing any spending. So there's no WIFI, the building are dated and the facilities a touch tired. This is more than countered by the cleanliness and friendly, sometimes laconic staff. It's no sacrifice.

Needs urgent update

Very pleasant site and very good location but we stayed in the upper field and the toilet block there really needs updating and is nowhere near the standard of most other Caravan Club sites. Also, only two very small shower cubicles in each part. No complaints about the cleanliness at all. Staff very pleasant and helpful. There is no wifi at all at this site yet so that needs sorting quickly I would have thought. With so much to do so close by, including Winchester Christmas markets, surely this site should stay open all year.

Time for upgrade

A pleasant site, with helpful wardens, adequate facilities, and easy access to good roads.  However, as it was very wet, we were advised to pitch on the upper site.  The facilities here are very dated, only 2 small showers, no hard standing, and quite a lot of noise from the A31.  As a key site to this part of Hampshire, isn't it time for the site to be upgraded to hard standing?  This appears to be a popular site which would surely benefit by being open all year.  It has good access to the ferries in Southampton and Portsmouth and there is a lot to do at all times of the year, hence warrant being open all year.
