Top of the Morn!

We had an excellent stay, both of us have a mobility and heavy lifting problem, the Warden allocated us an excellent pitch which could not have been nearer to the TB and Services on the lower site. We found the pitch and facilities, extremely clean, our only bone of contention was the Dishwashing Area, without fail, each time we used the facilities we had to clean away the mess left by the previous user, if funds allow we would suggest you install cctv with the message on the wall "you are on candid camera" !!!

Desperately Seeking TLC

Visited this site June 2016 and its fittings are very tired in need of refurbishing. The wardens do a great job and are very friendly. Bus stop 5mins walk outside Science Centre to Winchester where there is lots to do. A visit to the water meadows will not disappoint. Have a drink at Wykeham Arms in Cannon St. with its curious decorations of walking sticks, tankards etc.Tourist information in Winchester most helpful. Ask at Science Centre for directions onto Butterfly Walk, our dog loved this and views superb. Also the walk is peppered with local history during 1914-18 war. Finally, two lovely pubs 1.5miles from site in Easton village close to site. Country lane walk with care or take your car.

Ideal location on route to Southampton BUT........

The facilities on this site are sadly lacking, this is NOT due to anything done or not done by the wardens and is not a reflection on them. The site location ser es well for ferry catching at Southampton, for us travelling from the East Midlands and we are likely to use the site again purely for this reason. The club really needs to decide to close a deal on a purchase of this part of the site and improve the facilities or just concentrate on the lower part that it apparently owns. The fees are i creasing and the should be reduced until the facilities are improved.

Over night stop

Only used for a stopover for one night but given warm welcome and allocated a pitch in view of short stay which was fine. Toilet facilities in need of updating but again adequate for one night. Close to motorway and therefore an ideal spot for us to break our journey.

Enjoyable break

We thoroughly enjoyed a short break at Morn Hill last week. The beautiful weather was a bonus. The site is well looked after but unfortunately the facilities let it down. They among the worst we have come across over several years of camping. Two very unpredictable showers in the ladies and hardly any room to move. Several privacy cubicles that surely could be converted to showers as they didn't appear to be used much. Some music wouldn't go amiss either. That said, the site is so convenient for bus trips into Winchester which is a vibrant, interesting city. Southampton also easily reached by bus (we're pensioners with a motorhome and bus passes!). We will definitely return as we want to explore the Science Centre over the road and Alresford. There is some road and aircraft noise but it didn't really bother us too much. We had a meal in the Holiday Inn (a short walk away) which was a bit pricey but very nice and the fish and chip van called on Friday evening (reasonable prices and quite good) The wardens are friendly and helpful. Thanks Morn Hill.

Tired Toilets

This site has all the normal attributes of a club site, however two things can really be improved. 1. The toilets are clean but very tired and in need of refurbishment. As a previous review states this is not down to the wardens who are doing the best they can with what they have!! 2. This site is ideally placed for ferries from Portsmouth we travelled(with the travel club) and were delayed due to industrial action in France by two hours, asking the Wardens if we could stay longer, they agreed an additional hour and we then had to stop outside the main gate, with another caravan, in the same situation. or we could have tried to stop in a lay-by. Come on caravan club, don't turn your members off just because of a "jobs worth" there were plenty of available pitches. I feel increasingly that the club is getting to corporate, and will review my membership this year, due to this "unclublike" attitude.

Handy Weekend Stopover

We wanted to try out our new caravan and this site was great for us being not too far from home so we could maximise our time.   It is nicely laid out, with spacious pitches.  We opted for the lower section of the site, where the pitches are tiered.  There is road noise apparent at times, although we were pitched on the boundary of a country lane, so it was not a problem at all for us.  The toilet block was clean and the showers quite powerful, but having only two means you may have a to wait, as I did, or of course you could avoid this by using your onboard shower if you have one. The warden we meet was very helpful.  There was an issue in that we arrived before 12.00 - the reason we did so though was that our booking confirmation stated that arrivals are from 10am.  I left a copy of the email received and understand they will follow this up with HQ to get this amended.   We enjoyed our weekend stay very much and would definitely consider returning, particularly as it's on the doorstep of some wonderful country and city pursuits with Winchester, Alresford and the New Forest within easy striking distance.

Morn Hill - The Enigma

Lovely well looked after site and great location. Wardens are superb.  Toilet blocks are clean but abysmal by CC standards. All credit to the wardens for what they manage to do with them. We come here three or four times a year for different lengths of time but I think we will be going elsewhere until something is done re the facilities.

Great site and location but toilets let it down

Site ideally placed to Winchester and Alsreford which are worth visiting. Wardens here are very friendly and helpful. They allowed us to pick our pitch and I saw them helping people put their caravans on to the pitch. Two things let this site down. Firstly there are a lot of birds especially crows and pigeons that had us awake every morning from dawn. Secondly the upper site toilet block whilst kept as clean as possible by the wardens is out of date and only has two male shower cubicles when there are over 50 caravans. They are also very old and basically worn out. Caravan Club it's time to get the biscuit tin out and spend some money ! This could be a really great site and one the wardens and your customers deserve !!!

Morn Hill

Easy to find access easy and pitching layouts good for easy pitching. Toilet block in need of some updates, toilet and shower cubicles very small and limited. Good value for money.
