Poor Toilet Block

Very unfriendly greeting from the female warden .We were ordered to a pitch which she allocated to us. I couldn't wait to get out of the reception! And don't get me started on the toilet block on the lower level. Very old with cobwebs everywhere. Please Caravan Club update the shower block! Worst facilities I have ever stayed at

Worth a visit

This site is a lovely little site in beautiful countryside. The facilities may be a little tired but are adequate when the site isn't too busy. The assistant wardens and wardens were very helpful and friendly and kept the site beautifully clean and tidy. The views are lovely if you are on the right pitch. The wardens offer a pizza delivery service and this is worth trying. The WiFi is limited to an area around the wardens office. The 64 bus into Winchester from Alton is a short walk outside the site or else there are very good park and ride locations nearby. We spent 2 weeks here and would recommend it. A big thank you to the wardens for helping to make our stay so pleasant.

Facilities

This is a good clean site with mostly level pitches. It is easy to find and within reach of pubs and Winchester town centre is about 10 minutes drive. My only gripe is the quality of the toilet/shower block next to the reception. The 2 showers are not enough and very poor with a shower head in the left shower hard to keep in place. There is not enough room to get changed, no bench and very small area. Compare this to Littlehampton, a revamp and new building is in order.

Wonderful site

We stayed here for 2 nights on route to Isle of Wight, very clean and tidy and very pleasant staff, and within easy reach of Winchester. Toilets and showers could do with updating but still very clean. We will definitely stay here again.

Urgent Need for Upgrade

The facilities of this site are in much need of an upgrade and the showers are the worst that Ive encountered on all the club sites ive visited. The shower cubicles are so small (only 2) that it was difficult changing and the curtain was so close to you that it kept sticking to your body when showering. One morning the water was only look warm so after two days I abandoned the idea of using them and had to start using the facilities in my van. The site is in an excellent location for bus stops and Winchester itself and 10 mins walk to the Science & Discovery Center & Planetarium (for a rainy day). The wardens made a good job despite the outdated facilities. Site handy if your using Southampton ferries. There were a number of foreign visitors on site due to the proximity of the port. Goodness knows what their first impressions where of the C&MC

An excellent site and ideal for our one night stop over

We had a one night stop over at this site on our way back from the Isle of Wight. We had a nice level pitch and were delighted with the pizza run that the warden offers to guests. We plan to return next month and stay in site longer and have changed our booking from a nearby site to this one as we were so delighted with the site.

Disappointing access to South Downs Way

We stayed here so that we could explore the South Downs Way and expected to be able to walk to it. This was impossible because the site is surrounded with very busy roads without footpaths.

Great one-night stay to visit family locally

Visited this site over the very busy August Bank Holiday but found a quiet pitch near the dog walk which was perfect for us. Site Staff were very welcoming & helpful. Will definitely use again for visiting - other reviews regarding lack of shower facilities didn't worry us as we use our own facilities in the motorhome.
