Good location but noisy

I really like this site. It is in a great position close to Moreton-in-Marsh and it's an easy walk to get it. The town has a lot to offer for casual dining or drinks plus a few curio shops. The hardstandings are only 6m wide so with an awning you'll be parked across the front of your unit.. and, as others say, there is a tendency for water to 'pool' during heavy rain on some pitches. Facilities are good. Clean and airy with plenty of showers. I'd expect that it will need an update in the next few years though but fine for now. Now to the downside. If you pitch on the A44 side of the site you will get significant traffic noise for about 18 hours per day.. and, in particular, the motorbikes revving up to leave town. These are performance bikes and they are very loud and intrusive. Not the site's fault but something to be aware of

Lovely site

We stayed over the second Bank Holiday when it was very busy but it didn't feel too cramped and the facilities were always of a good standard. We found the staff really helpful, especially as we didn't make it until quite late on the first evening and it was a nice surprise to be able to borrow crazy golf clubs and boules to play for free. The one downside was the often heard noise of motorbikes accelerating far too fast out of the village. This is not the fault of the site, just poor riding on their part. Thank you for a lovely weekend.

Beautiful site but with one downfall

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at this site. Well located regarding distance from the town - roughly a flat 1/4 mile walk into the town. The facilities were the usual high standard that we expect for Caravan Club sites and the site is well laid out. The site was very busy, we arrived on a Monday lunchtime and there were about 3 empty pitches, all of which back onto the very busy A44. The incessant noise from lorries and motorbikes on the road 24hours a day was unbelievable. I'm sure if we'd been on a pitch nearer the back of the site it would have been fine, but it is well worth noting that there is a possibility you may be left with one of these pitches before booking. Such a shame as the site itself is lovely, well laid out and of high standard, but may not be brilliant for families with young children or nervous animals.

May bank holiday

Excellent weekend, site is exceptionally clean, shower and toilet block, fresh modern and clean. Plenty to do in the surrounding area, Moreton town is a 5 min walk away with some nice pubs and an excellent balti. Good play ground for children. Very friendly helpful staff. A very enjoyable weekend with relatives. We will definitely return.

Well ..........

This was my favourite site for the last 3 years ( 7 visits) but its now getting a tad too expensive. You cannot fault the facilities, access and proximity to Moreton. However some pitches hardstanding are worn and "pools" of water can appear within your pitch during heavy rain. So choose well. The users of the new glamping pods with only a few occupied created unwanted excessive noise and the BBQ bonfire one evening around 2200 hrs wasnt welcome and whoever created the flames/smoke was being irresponsible. So steer away from that location if you dont want to be particularly disturbed. Access is great. Obvioulsy during busy periods when full you will end up with not the best pitches. Outside busy periods a really good site. I think during busy periods they could "book" you in using the York Rowntree site method. On arrival if a member take your card on arrival as you drive in, find a pitch and return to advise and pay.

Why do people moan about this site, It's lovely.

We been to this site before and have just revisited it, this time we booked a Pod for an elderly relative to stay with us as well. I really can't understand all the negative comments this site gets. It's in a nice location, within easy walking distance off the town which has all you need to hand and road noise is minimal. The wardens are all very nice and always happy to help where they can. I have read comments about the poor pitches and shower blocks and just can't agree with it. The wardens are constantly working, keeping the site nice and clean and tidy and I can't see any problems with the shower blocks not being up to an acceptable standard. As for the Pods they are also very nice and comfortable and have made good use of what was a boggy dog walk, the new dog walk opposite is perfect as is the original children's play area. As for improvement works, it has to be done at some point or another so to mark the site and its staff down for something beyond their control is not fair on them or the site in my opinion. The only negative I would comment on is why some people treat the site roads like a race track, there really is no need for it. This is obviously something members need to be mindful of as the wardens can't deal with issues they don't witness. Thank you MIM Wardens for a very pleasant stay and we look forward to the next time.

Week End Away

Whilst l know the area reasonably well l’d never stayed at the site. There is short walk into town for various pubs, shops etc, and the site is well suited to visit many other attractions in the area. We found the site facilities up to the usual club standards and the wardens were pleasant and helpful. The general size of the pitches are small and looking rather unkempt in places. The site roads are very narrow leading to vehicles being forced into cutting off the corners in places and inflicting damage to grassed areas. Potholes are also a problem on one particular area of the site. The money spent recently on adding glamping pods may have been better used updating the site elsewhere.

Lovely

Stopped at this site for three nights just before Easter and it was great. Quiet at night, warden was very helpful when checking in. We picked a pitch just opposite the new glamping pods. There was a steak van on the first night and a pizza van making fresh pizzas the second night great if you don’t want to cook. Overall a very nice site and we would defiantly be back.
