Buggy friendly access to Moreston-in-marsh

Wonderful location, with buggy friendly access to Moreston-in-marsh. Good paths to Batsford aboretum. The town is very dog friendly and there is a range of places to try for food and drinks in the evening and for breakfast. There is lots to explore nearby and the locals and businesses are very friendly. The lady on reception was very helpful, asking if we'd stayed before and suggesting which pitch to go for as we were one of the last ones to arrive. The site is big and well managed with clean facilities and good showers. Cleaning hours were in the afternoon which made a nice change.

Work in progress

Lovely location with just a five walk into Moreton in Marsh with a good range of shops from Aldi to small local shops. Excellent cheese shop and the Mermaid fish and chip shop gives very large and tasty portions. Also recommend the Black Bear Inn for an evening meal. Visited the British Heritage motor museum and can thoroughly recommend it. We were on the new service pitches which were level and spacious, needed the TV hook up on the bollard which was good and the club WiFi was also excellent. Work was also on going on improving pitches etc but wasn't a problem. Only downside was the wardens closed the nearest toilet block on Sunday despite the site being fairly full and heavy rain had caused floods which meant we couldn't reach the other block without wading through water.

Return Visit.

This is one of our go to sites but have only just returned after a two year absence. It was great to see that the club at long last are investing ij this lovely site. The pitches are long overdue some tlc and it is good to see the installation of the fully serviced pitches. There is stall a lot of work to do but with minimum disruption it will be better for all once completed. We walked into the town and visited the bustling market and grabbed a nice morning coffee in one of the many cafes with the added bonus of being able to sit outside. Trips to Charlecote Manor and Batsford Arboretum for more fresh air and walking completed our short break in Moreton.

Great Location

Stayed in February, bit wet and windy but all part of the fun. Great site, clean facilities and lovely hot showers. Wardens very friendly and helpful on arrival. Poor TV signal so bring an aerial cable as you could connect at the power point. 10 min walk into town with lots of places to eat, lots of coffee shops ans some nice antique shops. Not far to drive to lots of other small pretty towns that are also worth a visit.

5 day stay

Friendly reception , easy to book in found a pitch which was 118 we hadn't read the reviews but soon noticed the road was the other side of the pitched bit to be honest this time of year with the door closed we could hardly notice it but I wouldnt enjoy it in the summer. Site has some ongoing works which we didn't notice and disturbance from . Our pitch could of done with some gravel adding and to the rear there is a few trees where someone had chucked what looked like food which our dog kept trying to eat but I'm sure the wildlife will enjoy it . Great Park for children that we didn't use and a good sized dog field with dog bins which was great . Toilets/showers/dishwashing all lovely and clean. So many lovely walks from this site I personally enjoyed the walk to Batsford. If there was one thing ide like to see more of its the book and dvd swap.

Great location

I stayed here in mid-January as I wanted to see some exhibitions at nearby Compton Verney and visit some of the areas other attractions. The site was the perfect base for this. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. The facilities were good - it was great to have an indoor washing up room to use in the frosty weather. The toilet/shower block was kept immaculately clean. Some work was taking place on pitches near the entrance, but this caused no disturbance as I was out all day long. I was parked well away from the road. I could here traffic occasionally, but it was not a problem. I will certainly stay at this site again.

Great Location but avoid the pitches by the main road

Second visit for us and generally love the site, but, we arrived late in the day and the only pitches left were by the road (we stayed on #76). If you stay in this area, you will probably hear the fairly constant traffic noise through the night, and we couldnt get any satellite or terrestrial TV due to the huge trees. A TV connection is provided on the service point, so if you dont mind a cable though your window, you can overcome that particular problem. We moved pitch the following morning, and found it really peaceful and quiet on the other side of the site, and got great TV reception too! Overall presentation of the site is improved from last time, facilities are generally clean and well maintained, and the other very negative reviews seem a little unfair to me. Staff were helpful and friendly in my experience. Not overkeen on the visiting curry van - moderate quality food, but expensive. Appreciate the offering, but a ten minute walk into town will find better alternatives.

New year 2021

Having just returned from a wonderful week at this site. We have decided that we need to leave a review that is in contrast to the other review that has been left. Hopefully this will give a different perspective of the site at the same time. When we arrived we were made to feel very welcome by the wardens. We had an issue with our electric and they came and helped sort it straight away! The pitch we chose was not muddy or neglected at all. It rained more or less every night whilst we was there, and the pitch we was on was fine. Yes, if you went on the grass it was muddy due to all the rain, but given the time of year, this is not within the wardens control. There were Christmas lights on a lot of the vans and motorhomes with free standing sculptures - it was beautiful at night time to walk around it. On New Year’s Eve the wardens invited everyone to an outdoor, socially distanced, get together with mince pies, sweets, bubbles and wine. Those that attended all said that it was a great couple of hours and allowed them to meet other residents and exchange stories and knowledge. In fact the only down side to our trip was us witnessing a motorhome emptying its tanks directly onto the pitch rather than driving to the service area, but like everything in life there’s always 1 or 2 that let others down. We will be back again soon and highly recommend the site and it’s location. The town is a five minute walk from the site and nearly all shops and pubs are dog friendly :-)

Run down shadow of a former beautiful favourite site. So sad.

We have been using this site for over 30 years. It was once a lovely site but is now a sad shadow of its former self. Pitches are run down with grass and mud over the most of the pitches. There are mud ruts either side of the roadway with no attempt to remedy them either. Some maintenance wouldn't go a miss. I feel that the site is so rundown pitch wise it is no longer worth the premiere rates charged by the club. Such a shame it's got to this but the club needs to buck it's ideas up with this this site. Our visit was also marred by a miserable warden who made us remove our Christmas lights from the fence at the rear of the van stating it was a fire risk. These are modern led lights that are low voltage and waterproof. The real Grinshill is alive and well here.

Holiday

We recently stayed at this site for my husbands birthday. We had been before so knew we could walk into the town and it also has a great dog walk which our spaniel really enjoyed. The facilities were spotlessly clean and the great thing is both blocks are cleaned in the afternoon. Why can’t all sites do this. Makes much more sense. Some of the hard standing pitches really need to be sorted out. There was hardly any gravel on ours and as it rained most of the time we were there wasn’t great. The wardens we spoke to were really friendly and a lovely lady booked me in. We will definitely return
