Took our first van for our first night to Minehead last weekend. The site was clean, tidy and quiet. We had a lovely welcome to the site which gave a positive impression of the Caravan and Motorhome club. The toilet block was most impressive all looked new and very clean indeed.
The 20 min walk to the seafront for chips by the sea was perfect. Will go back again for sure.
Bright and Pleasant Site
This site is directly accessible off the A39 which is a godsend - no messing about akobg narrow lanes! The site itself is well laid out and whilst there maybe sone levelling issues with sone of the ptches i have never felt the need to use blocks. The toilet block is kept immaculate and is central to all pitches which are all well maintained. Minehead town centre is a ten minute walk away and has some unusual and interesting shops to browse. The seafront is close by.. Tesco, Morrison's and Lidl are a five minute drive away and a Co-op is almost on the doorstep. Bus routes can take you to Taunton, Watchett and Dunster. This is a great little site with helpful and pleasant wardens and is even better because it is open all year.
Well done
We have just had 3 active days at Minehead where there is plenty to do. If you visit Dunster Castle be prepared to spend the whole day if you take in the tours and the watermill. The site is a credit to the pleasant wardens who gave us a warm welcome. The club has a reputation for high standards of their sites but this site is outstanding. The hardstanding pitches are free from weeds and have a crisp clear edge which gives the site a pristine look. The toilet and shower block is fresh, bright and spotlessly clean as are the service points. Well done!!

A rural site on the edge of town
The site is in a woodland setting but only 1 mile from the seafront and not far from Exmoor.
We had a lovely stay. The wardens were welcoming and everything was as we would expect it to be. Many places to visit nearby especially Dunster Castle and gardens - very family friendly and one could spend 2-3 days looking round the castle, grounds and facilities. We plan to go back sometime this month.
Hopcott in Minehead is a fantastic site, and the wardens so helpful, friendly and hard working. Thank you Tony and Helen 😁
Minehead, is a lovely little town on the edge of Exmoor with loads of great little shops and very dog friendly in many of the eating establishments!
The site is immaculately clean, tidy and very well organised. The facilities are so well kept that it's like being at home!
The dog walking area is also fantastic, however some guests do abuse this facility and do not pick up!! The wardens cannot be responsible for this, dog owner's must be more respectful of other users.
Tony and Helen, along with Trevor and Sally are excellent hosts.
Nice Site
We had some problems in levelling our motorhome, but had a good stay at the site. toilets and showers were clean, the wardens were very friendly. we liked the walk to the city and the beach.
There is a fire station nearby - but there was no alarm - so only noise came from the street which didn't disturb our dreams.
Hillside site
This is a good little site. The pitches all seem to be sloping and levelling blocks are needed, even then we weren't quite level. There's only one chemical disposal site and it's a bit of a treck down the hill to it. Otherwise very good, and easy to walk into Minehead.
Good location, small site
A small site that I initially described as cramped but after a weeks stay a fairer analysis is ‘snug’. Most of the pitches are much smaller than normal with cars parked across the front rather than to the side but it actually didn’t matter and gave it a cosy feel rather than cramped.
The wardens who were there for our week were very friendly, helpful and worked very hard to keep the site spotless and the lovely flower baskets looking their very best.
The site itself needs some updating including some levelling of pitches and more modern showers etc but the WiFi was good and, as previously stated, punches above its weight despite its faults thanks to the hard work of the wardens.
There is a nice easy walk into Minehead past some useful and convenient local shops and services including an excellent Fish & Chip shop and Indian restaurant.
The steam train is a good day out with a little planning as to where you want to get off and explore / visit as is Dunster Castle and village. Minehead itself has little it no life after about 6pm apart from a couple of amusement arcades. Even the fish and chip shop in the main shopping street was shut by 7pm on Friday (although there was a kiosk near the front/ station open. Lovely beach though (no dogs in the summer with no alternative offered that we could see) and a good location for many places in North Somerset/ Exmoor by either public transport or car.

Lovely site
Lovely site, well maintained by the friendly wardens. Beautiful flower arrangements on entry. We chose pitch number 50 which was great as it was right next to the water point and recycling. An ideal site for adults as there is no children play area or facilities. Great for walking into Minehead and very conveniently located for visits to some beautiful Somerset locations. Toilet and shower block was spotless, information room was well stocked with leaflets. Shower pressure could have been a little better but wasn't that much of a problem. Excellent WIFI signal which was an added bonus. Would definitely visit again. Thank you for making our stay an enjoyable one.

Dead end cause hassle
After a 3hr drive to get here, we was in a queue to get in so the lady warden told us to go take a look around and stand on the pitch we wanted,, well all the site had dead ends to it so motor homes were OK but if you had a caravan it proved quite difficult to reverse out of. I'm glad we got there when we did,, we had pitch 8 right in the front at the beginning of the site thank god,, very busy tho with cars vans etc all day back and for,, not ideal place for kids.. no park either.. the park itself was very clean and tidy and the shower block was fab.. the site is only a 10 min walk into minehead itself and shop also with in walking distance,, was told that the dog walking area was good also.. we got chatting to a lady on the first Nite who she herself spoke loudly to have a visit off the warden to be a bit quite,it was only 10pm.. knowing that there was a family at the other end of the park being noisy and playing guitar at the same time , I was a bit taken aback,, well the lady was only there 10 mins and went.. I think it was because we were near the wardens motor home, and they wanted to go to sleep.. any way bed we went after that... the next morning we could see her talking to the guy next to their van only to here she was asking him if he wod move as some1 rang to request that pitch.. I was gobsmacked. The man did move at some point of the day.. I'm sorry I wodnt have, I didn't know you could book pitches,, and the motor home that did go there werent disabled, so I didn't see why the man had to move.. over all tho loved goin back to minehead town nothing has changed there. Still lots of charity shops and pubs etc.. had lovely walk along the promenade to the ship pub.. very welcoming .. wod we return.. not for a while, it's all the same so seen minehead again now after a few years. Hubby had never been so glad we went for him..
