Nice site

We stayed here in September and had a lovely 2 night stay. I found the facilities good, but my husband said the gents were not so good, with unpleasant sanitary smells. The warden was very friendly and helpful

Lovely base for visiting Cornwall

Stayed here for 4 nights last week. The site was fairly quitet which made for a very peaceful stay. Nice wardens and clean facilities. Dog walk was fantastic. The site is a little out of the way for visiting some of the popular tourist attractions but it's in a lovely picturesque area with stunning coastal views just a short drive away. The car ferry is a great shortcut to Falmouth and beyond and Is £7.50 for a day return with a cc voucher provided by the wardens. St Mawes well worth a visit.

excellent

This is a very good site, it has everything you need and considering its very large size manages to keep everything clean and spotless. It's only drawback is that it can get very full in the school holiday period, but apart from that it is very good and we will visit it again soon

September Holiday

Spent the first 10 days of September here we had not been here since the 1990's and was pleased with the site and the area, the all weather pitches were level and well positioned. The wardens were very welcoming and friendly, the dog walking facilities were very good, the toilet block was well maintained, the size and layout of the toilet cubicles was challenging. The area has many good attractions and we will be visiting again in the future.

Fantastic site

We have just enjoyed a 3 night stay at Merrose Farm and would highly recommend it. The site itself is everything you would expect from the club, facilities were spotless and a friendly welcome from the wardens. We travel with 2 dogs and the site provides a fenced off field for dog owners to use and they are able to be off the lead for a run around, it was great to see so many dogs running freely and all getting along. The site itself is very close to a coastal path which gives you a great stroll along the coastline with some stunning views, there is also a small farm shop on the way to the coastal path that sells some of its own produce along with fresh fish. A fish and chip van visits the site twice a week, we indulged on Wednesday and it was the best meal we've had from a chip van. For motorhome owners apart from the small farm shop there isn't any shops nearby without driving so might be worth stocking up before you get there, can't fault the site though and we shall definitely be returning

Roseland

Third visit to this site fantastic location and in a quieter part of Cornwall. The wardens are as usual very helpful and the site and toilets are spotless .Plenty of hard standings and grass pitches.  For people with dogs there is a huge field for them to roam in.  There is a beach within 1 mile which you can walk to in relative safety. A visit to St Just church is a must.   Certainly will be back.

Cornwall Capers

Visited Merrose in September for two weeks and enjoyed our third visit to the site. This is a large and busy site with a high turnover of units. The single toilet block needs upgrading and extending. I would imagine high season puts quite a strain on its use. Also the showers are small (cold wet shower curtains are not my favourite! ) and the wc units are not up to the task of public use. Three flushes to clean do not help the Club's aim of saving water. Also, why do the staff insist on opening all the windows and cranking up the heating in the toilet block? The Club is constantly reminding members of its colossal fuel bills! My other annoyance is the almost non stop noise from grass cutters, rubbish collecting tractors, etc. please can the Club start using quieter machinery. The noise generating by current units, Kubutos, is horrendous! Plenty of excursions and activities available within reasonable driving distance. The coast around the Roseland peninsula is particularly attractive. Public transport, to Truro and St Mawes, is adjacent. Despite some misgivings, we would use the site again.

Late Summer Break

Usual standard of facilities. It is good to be close to the coastal path and a fairly quiet route to Portscatho can also be walked down the lanes to the Hidden Hut. The Bridle path next to the site offers another dog walk and is peppered with rabbit holes and badger tracks. If you go down to Portscatho for a beer I can recommend the Harbour Club (day membership 50p) they welcomed us in our walking boots and with the dog and had the best real ale in the place at the best price. The view out to sea is great. One word of caution about the toilets if the site is quiet they close one block--(although the lights and heating are left on) and when the other is being cleaned there is only one disabled toilet available for the whole site and some people do there ablutions in there as well which can be a long time.

Quiet Site

In spite of there being 178 pitches the site was very quiet.   It is in a good location to visit attractions in the area.   The pitches are sited over a large area and with pitches in the centre it made it difficult to locate a vacant site especially having to drive around with the van in tow searching.  The toilets were very narrow and the showers in the top block were very close to the wall. To get under the shower head moving close to the wall also meant close to the hot water supply pipe, rather dangerous.  Also it seems that one toilet block serving 178 pitches was a bit much.  The wardens were all very helpful the site was clean and tidy and shop was adequate.

All those miles, then a Traffic Light

Could not believe it, after taking us 5 hours towing to get there, around hair pin bends though Cornwall's lanes in the dark, we had to stop for the red traffic light, well we fell about laughing, and that was the start of a really Great 6 night stay, loved the site, wardens really funny and helpful, I think we should all be offered a "GO" on the Tractor Lawn Mower thing, it's Boys with their Toys for the Male Wardens, Fish & Chip night, I never seen anything like it, the whole Site must have turned out, at one point the "Happy Fryer's" thought they might run out of fish, Fantastic Site, Lovely location, Clean, and has a Happy Feel to it.
