July 2016

When we arrived I was concerned that the pitches were closer than I was used to. It turned out to be a non-issue.Great site, wonderful wardens. The showers are poor pressure wise but told nothing can be done until the boilers are upgraded. GREAT dog facilities. Had a superb fortnight.

Beautiful site

We have spent the last couple of weeks on this lovely site, despite a wide variety of weather conditions we had a wonderful time.  The site is situated a few miles from the beautiful St Mawes a little gem, Portscatho and many other quiet beaches.  There is a bus service to St Mawes and Truro. The site wardens were friendly and helpful keeping a largish and busy site clean, neat and tidy.  Though I do feel in some areas that its quite cramped and when people have vans, cars, tents, windbreaks, dogs etc it gets a bit cramped. The facilities were excellent, spotlessly clean and tidy, LOVE the music in the facilities, I often heard people singing along to the music in the shower - there is always an earie feeling at night in the dark on that last trip before bed, but the music makes is less earie.  There are 2 blocks a largish and small block so during cleaning there is always showers etc availabe.  There is a fish and chip van that visits twice a week though it doesnt arrive until 7.30 then as its cooked fresh it takes a while, so by the time you are ready to eat its gone 8pm. All in all a lovely site, we will definitely be back, thank you Wardens for all your hard work.

wonderful site

have recently come back from 9 nights, as usual the wardens were friendly and helpful. We parked on the field lovely views. The site was very full and to my mind they should remove some of the grass pitches in the main area, they are too cramped. My only other gripe is the showers the pressure in the showers was POOR this needs to be rectified. All in all lovely site but not in school holidays.

Re Comments from Mr President

Just seen the negative comments from Mr President below, There were at least 3 hooks in each shower cubicle and three in each washing cubicle. The size of all cubicles seemed to be in line with other club sites. The door to the disabled WC was locked but could be opened with a Radar Key. This prevents non disabled people using them. So, I suppose if you are disabled you would have a RADAR key. As for the washing machines, I never saw a queue. This is a large site so it's inevitable that it needs constant attention. This involves using mowers and strimmers. The club handbook does not advertise serviced pitches. If you wanted a serviced pitch use your handbook and go to a site which has them. We arrived after 12 as requested by the site. I couldn't believe the number of units that started to arrived by 10.30am Some people!

Great Site Great Location

Wardens very helpful and cheerfull. Site well manicured and facilaities very clean. Site is well located for St Mawes, Famouth and Truro plus the numerous coves, beaches and walks neaby. Not the first time we have stayed here and not the last.

Schöner Platz zum Erholen

Ruhiger, etwas abseits gelegener Platz. Ideal für Wohnmobile. Sehr freundliches Management.

Less noise at an airport

Constant noise from grass cutting yes it may need trimmed but every day I think not two washing machines and tumble dryers for a site with 178 pitches. Showers where that small you could not swing a cat in them and not enough hangers to hang your towels and clothes. There was one disabled toilet that I saw and that was locked all the time I was there. For a site that size it could do with coming up to date water to pitch wastewater drains at pitch if they think it can't be done then visit Dornafield at Newton Abbot every thing you need is at the pitch . This just is first and last time I will use this site and would not recommend it to anyone and 4out 5 people I talked to agreed

Not the best service whilst on site

Although this is a clean friendly site I was not amused by the strimming while out one day. Both caravan and awning were covered with debris. I appreciate the need for this to be done but was left wondering why when I was backed in against a hedge and that I was not not given any warning or apology of the mess left! Clearly the wardens are not in areas that this can occur. Disappointed member of long standing.
