Great site, would visit again.

A lovely relaxed site with very helpful staff. The site had great facilities which were kept immaculately clean and the staff had instigated a system of cleaning the toilets in the afternoon (fabulous idea) allowing people to have a lie in. There is a great farm shop within a ten minute walk and a lovely beach and beach cafe (The Hidden Hut) within walking distance. There is a regular bus into St Mawes (worth visiting) from where you can get the ferry over to Falmouth. It was so lovely we extended our stay and would have stayed even longer if we could. All in all a great site which we would definitely visit again.

Lovely relaxed site

Merrose is a really lovely site with plenty of space between caravans and camper vans . Really helpful wardens totally relaxed and welcoming . During the school holidays the site can be busy and if you park near the park area which is great for children then understandably it can get a bit noisy. But by 9.30pm all quiet. Lots of grass area for children to play safely. Shower blocks were kept clean by the wardens but unfortunately the club members didn’t leave it in such a good condition . That all said can’t wait to go back . The access is a lot easier than some other sites. Great walks around the coast . Lovely farm shop about 10 mins walk away well stocked but can be a bit expensive. Lovley fresh fish and crab etc Curgurrel farm shop . Hidden hut great pitstop on the way to Portscatho . Quaint Cornish village with good pub and a selection of eateries , art galleries and small independent shops. Driftwood restaurant for a special occasion . Caught the ferry from st mawes to Falmouth for a great day out . Fab place !

Really good site

Just returned from 2 brilliant weeks at this site.Site staff very helpful from when we arrived to when we left and all inbetween.Good area for walks with or without dogs, good play facilities for kids and grandkids all though we forgot to take ours and tell them where we were going (bliss). Good farm shop 10 min walkaway but some things a bit pricey. Found some nice quiet coves and beachies which we could park right next to has the wife had hurt her knee before we left so,some days the dog and i had to go walkies on our own and he insisted that we find a watering hole for him?? Some nice quiet lanes to drive down has well (except for screaming its to narrow) or something like that, was`nt really listening. Would recommend this site and the Roseland peninsular and we will be back.

Fabulous site

Had an amazing experience with the friendly and helpful management from the minute we arrived. They were ready to answer any queries and acted promptly to ensure we were settled. The pitch recommended was perfect for our needs and we were offered support with our awning when Mike took time out to ensure we were settled. Everything is so well maintained and the facilities are immaculate. The top part of the site is perfect for families as it has an extensive play area which has excellent pitches all around it to ensure parents can supervise their children while they relax. If you like it quiet the bottom part of the site is perfect and the middle pitches are suitable for everyone. There are plenty of service points dotted around the site that are maintained to the highest level. If you plan to explore the area the buses are every two hours at the site entrance. It is an ideal spot to bus part way and explore the many walks, beaches and eating places on the routes in both directions from the site. If you travel to St Mawes you also have the opportunity to travel on the water taxis which is only twenty minutes to Falmouth.

Another great CAMC site

We stopped here for a few nights on our tour of the South West. We have motorhome and plan not to move it from the site until we leave so we look for sites with walks and bus services - both of which this site has. We walked down to the nearby beaches for a swim and snacks. We took the bus to St Mawes and then the ferry to Falmouth for a pleasurable anger round. The site itself was fine, the usual high standard of CAMC sites. The facilities were excellent and the dog walk very good. Overall a great site.

AMAZING 🤩

Just back from this site WOW 🤩. From arriving the staff are so helpful, helping me on my pitch and sorting the best way to face and then even coming back a bit later and offering to help with the awning 😊 My 4 yr old son had the amazing play area to himself it was in term time so better for us, it’s huge the whole length of the field even the bigger kids had a go! The best one i have seen in a long time. The site is kept immaculate and really well looked after the views are beautiful and it’s very peaceful (until we turned up) stayed 18 nights and could of easily stayed longer, if it wasn’t so far away this would be my regular weekend site but it’s a bit far the 10hr journey. But I will definitely be back next year same spot please ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Nice site

Our first visit and I'm sure we will return. We had a pitch in the grass field which had great views and was nice to walk around on, unlike the horrible chippings used for hard standing at most Club sites. We were next to the dog walk field and at times felt like we were spectators at a second-rate Crufts, however I must commend the dog owners as we were rarely disturbed by noise from the dogs or owners. It was also nice to see the area around the fence had been left unmowed to allow wild flowers to grow and attract bees and other insects. There seemed to be other 'no mow' areas around the site and this was a nice touch. Portcurnick beach and the wonderful Hidden Hut cafe are an easy and pleasant 30 min walk away along the lane past the farm shop through Rosevine. The farm shop itself sells some nice fruit & veg as well as fresh fish but is hilariously expensive - I don't know how they keep a straight face when presenting you with your bill. Finally the strict 1pm arrival time is a bit frustrating but given the single track approach lane I can see the need to keep arrivals and departures well apart. The actual check in itself was very quick and efficient and staff friendly and welcoming.

We’re Not Going Back

Overall this is a decent site & well maintained. My problem with it is the over officious nature of those who run it. 1. Strictly no arrival before 1pm, no waiting on site, not on the slip road. Go find somewhere else after a 7 hour journey! Utter nonsense. Inflexible and to suit the staff not the customers. 2. We witnessed someone turn (after 1pm). Parked in waiting lane. Mr & Mrs get out to stretch legs and are told by one of the staff that one of them has to stay with the Vehicle? Why? What happens if you’re travelling alone? Are tha staff going to come to the vehicle to book them in, no I didn’t think so. More, utter nonsense. 3. Shop in the office. Roped off, no access, presumable to stop staff getting COVID, even though there are no measures in place, no restrictions, no isolation rules. Utter nonsense. A bit more flexibility needed, IMO for the benefit of the customers. Nevertheless, I won’t be going back.

Do not arrive before 1300hrs!

A great site that we have been coming to for the last six years. Access to the site is from the A3078 down a single lane controlled by traffic lights. It works great but this year there is a restriction that you cannot enter the site before 1300hrs. THIS IS IMPORTANT. Its not mentioned in the 'before you travel notes' and the sign at the entrance says you are not allowed to park on the slip road. REALLY! How on earth do you expect any sensible traveller to attempt to reverse back onto the A3078 which is a blind bend. New arrivals need to be aware of this new restriction. I wasn't and travelling 7 hours on the road to get to Merrose I was fortunate to arrive at 1250. I was not going to move! This needs to be better broadcast. I understand the reasoning of 1300 but it needs to be better advertised.
