Had a great time at this site. Really handy for Melrose shops and restaurants. Good bus service to surrounding towns.Great site clean and well maintained. Site wardens we’re very welcoming and helpful. Ended up staying for 9 nights to take in the Melrose Rugby 7’s on our final weekend. Don’t miss the Scottish Borders it really is a very nice area to visit.
Noisey
I will not be returning, booked a pitch without awning, which we ended up stuck right in the corner.
Stayed for 4 nights, noisy neighbours every night, dogs not kept on leads at all times, witnessed small dog roaming site unsupervised during day, and then found evidence of dog faeces by the side of our caravan. Even though site well kept and spotlessly clean it has been the worst site for being so noisy we have stayed on in all the years we have been members of the caravan club.
Bet this site's popular for the rugby!
Nice well looked after site a few minutes walk from town centre and across the road from the rugby club.
Lots to do - we should realy have planned to stay much longer and it would have certainly have made an excellent base for the Borders. Melrose Abbey and Harmony Gardens are within a short walking distance and the other Border Abbeys can be easily achieved by road. You can cycle the 3 Abbeys trail from the site, Scott's house at Abbotsford is a few miles away but there are walking routes which take you there. Unless you're really into Walter Scott entry to the house is rather expensive but the grounds are worth exploring (they are free). Your'e not far from Tweedbank and the Borders Rail Link to Edinburgh. Some great walks along the river and into Eidon hills. Lots of places to eat in town - its a long time since I've been anywhere with as many prosperous looking hotels.
Site facilities clean and well looked after though shower cubicles would benefit from having a seat in them. But thats a minor point. We had a lovely pitch and felt quite secluded
4 Abbeys
We have stayed here a few times great for cycling in the area can recommend the 4 Abbeys route that’s Melrose, Dryburn,Kelso and Jedburgh abbey. Also Floors Castle is worth a visit. Great ice cream / chocolate shop. The tempest brewery tap house in Tweedbank is also worth and walks along the river
Our first visit to Melrose
This was our first visit to this site, and we were not disappointed. We had a warm friendly welcome from wardens. Pitches are spacious and well spaced out, shower and toilet block was spotless wardens work hard to keep the site clean and tidy.
Site is well located so only a short walk to the centre of a very pretty little town with a variety of small shops, and dog friendly pubs, also a co-op at the entrance of site very handy.
Lots of walks direct from site, lovely walk along the river.
We will be booking again to visit this site.
Toilets and showers needing tlc
Lovely clean site ' friendly staff. Ideally situated in Melrose which is lovely.
Only complaint is that the toilets and showers could really do with a bit of tlc. They are getting tired. The wardens do keep them clean but Wetwall in showers tired and warping in places.
This wouldn't stop us from going back to this little gem.
My Favourite Site
We have visited this site regularly over the last 4 years.
I cannot speak highly enough of the care the staff take to look after us and the beautiful site.
I look forward to our visits and feel very relaxed when I’m here.
Thank you so much.
First complaint in 20 years
Never had any problems with this site and we have used it for almost 20 years. Spent 6 days over Christmas this year and on the whole the site was kept tidy and clean. My gripe is that this time the wardens allowed a fully serviced pitch to be “held” for a friend of another member for 4 days. A table and electric cable were left on said pitch making it look like a motorhome was using the pitch. Fully serviced pitches are limited at Melrose and it was unfair on the other members that arrived during those 4 days that they could not access that pitch.
Great location, lovely site
We stayed here twice to break up journeys to Edinburgh. Lovely welcome from site staff on both occasions. Facilities were clean and well maintained. Site itself is nice and quiet however there is a school and sports field nearby.
This site is in a lovely location within easy walk of Melrose Town centre with a small number of restaurants and bars which makes this a great all year round site. Well worth a visit and have already booked to go back there next month.

Highly recommended.
We had a wonderful stay here for 21 nights, late September/October. Upon our arrival, we had a lovely welcome from Maggie, who with her husband, work very hard to keep the site and it’s facilities in excellent order. The site is within the town of Melrose, which has a Co-op at the entrance to the site, and amongst other shops, an excellent butcher, and an excellent bakery. Melrose sits in a beautiful area with other lovely towns, and other interesting attractions nearby. Highly recommended.
