Excellent caravan club site

This is the best site we have stayed on . The wardens are very friendly and helpful and they look after the site very well . Toilets and showers are spotless and lovely and warm, plenty hot water. There are plenty eating places in Melrose and they are all very good . We are coming back to this site in September so that we can travel to Edinburgh on the new Borders Railway which opens on the 5th September.

Great site

Excellent site with friendly, helpful wardens. From the moment of arrival it's pretty obvious that the site is well maintained, clean and tidy. The beautiful flower tubs and baskets were an added delight. Plenty of interesting walks and places to visit nearby. On the doorstep is Melrose itself so go enjoy and explore.

A lovely site

We visited Melrose Gibson Park in July, we actually arrived at the park 2 days earlier then we had booked as we had to leave the site we were on before as the midges were driving us crazy.  Firstly, no midges at Melrose Gibson Park. The wardens were really helpful and found room for us, even though the site was really busy.  We really appreciated this.  The wardens were really friendly and made us feel very welcome. The site is level, flat, beautifully kept, the shower block was exceptionally clean and hot water was plentiful.  There were beautifully planted up tubs in front of the shower block which looked really pretty. The location of this site is great too, it's only a 2 minute walk into Melrose which has everything you could ask for, there are shops selling everything you could need. Pubs and restaurants. We were visiting the area to do some mountain biking and the site was really well placed for visits to Glentress (17 miles away) and Innerliethen (slightly closer). I would recommend anyone to visit this beautiful campsite, there really is something for everyone.

Our stay in July

A very tidy site, nice and flat with good facilities, plenty hot water in the toilet block. The proximity to the town and visitor attractions was a big bonus. A good park next door with plenty for the kids and tennis courts for more energetic adults. Coffee shops, bars, restaurants and takeaways all within a few minutes stroll. The wardens were welcoming and helpful. Would recommend a visit to this site if you're planning a visit to the Scottish borders.

A BIG THANK YOU

On the morning we were due to arrive at the site my wife was admitted to the Borders General Hospital with a serious condition. I arrived at the site later in the day and the lady on reception could not have been more helpful - and continued to be throughout my stay. The site itself is situated in the town of Melrose with a fine selection of shops, hotels and restaurants and within easy walking distance of the Abbey, NTS Gardens and river walk. There is a public park  adjacent and the Melrose Rugby Ground is across the road.  It is not surprising that it is a very busy site and booking is advisable. The ground and the facilities are well cared for and it is a very pleasant site.

Our recent stay

We arrived just before 4pm for 3 nights for some unknown reason the warden seemed grumpy just thought it was me but other caravaners said the same. Melrose was small but very busy site and was kept tidy. Traffic noise can be heard from main road behine site.Nice walk in to town from the site and plenty to see and do in the area. Nice walk down by the river if you have dog and the dog walk on site is quite small

Majestic Melrose

Stayed here many times, usually for a long weekend, site is always clean and tidy and very quiet considering it is 100 yds from the gate to the High Street.  There are lots of things to keep you busy in the Borders and Edinburgh is only 30 minutes away. There are some excellent pubs and hotels offering great food in Melrose and it's charming high street has enough to supply your everyday needs. I would strongly recommend a visit to this lovely little site.

Plenty of Places to Visit

This was our first time here and we were pleasantly surprised as to how quiet it was, being almost in a town. There are lovely views from the site and the Wardens have leaflets of walks (don't miss the one to the Chain Bridge). There are plenty of lovely small towns to visit as well as the Border Abbeys. A lovely drive is to Moffat passing St Marys Loch and the Grey Mare's Tail (waterfall). The peregrine's there have a new family. A site with plenty to do locally. We will return.

quiet

We stopped here for 4 nights in May and found the site quiet. That's is to say it wasn't busy during the week but, it did fill up on Friday night. The constant noise from the motorway and roadworks is slightly intrusive though. The local mini bus service into Glasgow is good if you want to leave your vehicle on site. We will definitely return.
