Enjoyable visit

We've just returned from two nights visit with our motor home. It is yet another great site in a wonderful area. The facilities were spotless. We enjoyed the walk into the village. Some lovely cafes and food shops. On our last evening at dusk we saw and heard a stag. He was standing on the shingle beach "barking". His outline was magnificent. Red squirrels were also seen nearby. We had a wonderful trip along a hidden valley only seeing two vehicles in 11miles. The scenery outstanding.

New van test

This was our first trip in our second van as a test without the kids. Site was clean and nicely kept. We had decent weather and stayed next to the river. Killin hasn't got much to offer but would be a decent base for traveling. Avoid the killin hotel as food is rotten and expensive although we went into the coach house across the road which is dated but food and drink good and reasonable along with a decent atmosphere. Again silly times on CC toilet cleaning rules but a good overall site.

Good site but could do with improvment.

On booking in was reminded that I was early 10.45am and it should be 12.00am. Site was near empty. Toilets are needing upgraded and showing there age. Fellow site user used my pitch as a convienant short cut to the toilets, was very fustrating.

Great Stay

Stayed for a week over the Autumn period. Site well maintained with a nice warm shower block ( floor could do with upgrading). Excellent location for many different activities. Good safe cycling routes close by, along with numerous walks which all have stunning views. Overall a friendly, relaxed and well kept site.

Lovely site

We have just come back from this site having spent 2 nights there. We had a lovely time, the weather was gorgeous and the site lovely. The toilets are clean and tidy and located centrally. The pitches are all hard standing and mainly level with a few exceptions. It was quite busy for the time of year but everyone was friendly and happy to chat. It is close to the road so expect some noise during the day but it was quiet at night. We didn't really notice it though. We had a lovely welcome from a friendly warden. I would recommend this site.

Evacuation due to heavy rain

Wow, what a stay we had. Arrived a little late but had a very warm welcome by the warden. Got our motorhome ready and had a cosy evening inside, while it was raining badly outside. At 23.30h the wardens came to inform everyone that they would recommend to leave the Site and go to the Clachan Campsite 1 mile up the road. The river was eventually going to flood the Site. So we left and stayed the night at the Clachan Site. The "evacuation" was very professionally organised and the wardens very great in handling the situation. Both Sites are very nicely situated, wardens are great and we would come back anytime.
