IDEAL FOR THE THREE COUNTIES SHOWGROUND & WELLAND STEAM RALLY

We only use this site because it is close to the Three Counties Showground & the annual Welland Steam Rally. This year on arrival I noticed quite a few comments in the book in the information room complaining about the noise & disturbance due to continual grass cutting by the wardens. Initially I thought it was just "the moaners", but after 1 day sitting outside trying to read a book & observing continual use of the mower over grass that did not need cutting, close to people trying to relax, I have to agree. The mowing is excessive and annoying, we were almost glad of the rain, it was the only time the mower stopped & gave us some peace. Also, we find that on this site, maybe due to the size and layout, people tend to cut across other occupied pitches more often & the dogs on leads at all times rule is not enforced. All in all it is not one of our favourite sites, but useful for a couple of days stay to visit a show.

Great Site

Great site in a good location. Wardens were friendly and helpful on arrival. The site is very clean. The facilities are of the highest standard and are cleaned on a regular basis. Loads to do in the area. There is a nice village about 15 mins walk away with the Swan Inn which is a good pub. We are new to the caravan club, this was the first caravan club site that we have used. I hope that all the other sites are of this standard.

Great location

Really nice site, very easy to find and yet within striking distance from Malvern, which is quite hilly, but a very nice little town. The site is quite big (we found) and because there are few trees is very open and because it was almost full can seem to be a sea of vans. Having said that it was very quiet until somebody pitched behind (old boy and his wife) who insisted on bellowing from the van to the awning and effing and blinding! Nothing to do with the wardens, just their own lack of personal awareness and responsibility. . Probably the same reason they let their Labradors bark incessantly. Having moaned about that, the site is oerfectly placed for walking the Malverns and visiting the Three Counties Showground. We fell across the Working and pastoral care dog show with the Shetland pony and palomino show the first weekend. Entry free and really nice if you like dogs.  Great walk to the Beacon and then the Brisptish Camp Iron Age fort and onto the Obelisk. £3 to park all day in any of the car parks. Highly recommend The Fig Tree in Malvern for lunch and the Kettle Sings ( on the hills on Jubilee Drive) stunning view and eggs benedict to die for.  Morrisons cheapest petrol to east of Malvern, also M&S food there too and wait rose in Malvern itself.  Did Worcester, cathedral was lovely ,and riverside walk, but the town centre could have been anywhere.  Would recommend and will be back

A bit remote

Make sure you're well stocked with all the essentials including groceries because the site is positioned quite a distance away from supermarkets and takeaways. We used it as a stopover on the way to the Lake District and because there were pitches available at the last minute even though it was a weekend. However, the wardens were very helpful and friendly so that the booking and pitching process was reasonably straightforward.

Pleasant first CC site visit

We picked this site as we were attending an event at the Three Counties Showground, for which it is extremely conveniently located.   The site is easy to find, and the roads to it from the M5 were fine for towing on.  Entry to the site was extremely easy.  The welcome at reception was very friendly, and clear and helpful instructions were given.    There are hard standings and grass areas on both the top and bottom sections.  The grass pitches on the top section had the views and sun all day, though there were some trees to provide a bit of shade. The pitches (hard standing) over the far end of the site got the most shade, loosing the sun about 4/5pm.  The hard standings had grass areas surrounding them.  The pitches were large, but were soon filled once you got a large awning attached.  The pitches (both hard standing & grass across the site) that get the most sun/views do fill up earlier in the day. We pitched in the hard standings at the back on the left as you drive in.  We found this area to be very quiet, even though a lot of people did walk their dogs along the outer edge of it.  The bottom area did feel slightly nosier than the top.  It was probably because the play park is in this section so there were more families there.  The facility block (at the top) was very clean at all times, and never seemed to be busy.  We cannot comment on what the showers were like as we used our own facilities; however they did look very nice.  There were water points, grey water disposal and chemical disposal points at each toilet block.   There are bins for recycling available.   With the 1p child price, our stay only cost £20 a night, which for a CC site we felt was very reasonable.  All in all a pleasant first visit to a CC site. If we have reason to be back in the area again we would return.

One of the best!

A great little site within an hours journey for us. I expected it to feel quite noisy and not very relaxing considering the size of the site, but even though it was full it couldn't have been quieter. Some of the pitch's feel crammed in at first but once settled you realise how lovely the place is. Malvern is a short drive away and we had a lovely walk over the hills. We were disappointed we couldn't get a meal in the Swan which is a 20min walk away so would advise booking in future. Overall, very good and we will certainly be back. Well done to the wardens for keeping the place spotless!

Visit in june

We visited this site in June this year (2015). It was lovely! The site is really clean and tidy with great facilities, it is really easy to get to with no winding roads. The staff were really helpful, the pitches are generous in size. The only downside, and this is not to do with the club at all, we had fish and chips from the van at the entrance to the site, it was the worst take away we have ever had, it went in the bin and we went to the pub. (Which was lovely)

A Lovely Peaceful Site

Returned here again. Its such a lovely place but near enough to places of interest and motorways to be really useful. Found a great place to visit, the Queenswood Country Park on the A49 between Hereford and Leominster. Surely one of the best views ever from their viewpoint, the Malverns to the Welsh Mountains. The park also has a great Arboretum and the place is free, including car parking! There's also a reasonable cafe on site. Back at the Malvern Site, any hope please for one hook in the ladies shower cubicles, "bobbles" are fine for blouses etc but hopeless for your bath towel, which ends up on the wet floor! Other than that a lovely site in a lovely part of the country.
