Lovely Weekend Break

I have just spent a lovely peaceful weekend (3 nights) on this site with my Granddaughter. The site wasn't very full so plenty of space. We chose a grass pitch near the play area. As well as the play area there is a giant draught game, quoits, badminton and giant connect 4 set up near the office for all to use. Plenty to do in the area. i will be back to explore further.

OMG!!....and we're not moaners!!

Stayed at this site From 17th - 22nd May. Initially we commented on what a peaceful, well run site this is. That is until 9.00 am on Saturday morning arrived with a racket to rival Glastonbury. What we weren't told on arrival, was that there was a girl guiding convention on the private land next door to the club site. So, from 9 am until 4 pm Saturday & Sunday, you could not hear yourself think as the music playing was so loud. It was impossible to spend a couple of hours just chilling or reading. We were fuming that we had not been informed of this on arrival at the site, clearly the wardens knew about it prior to the event taking place, but didn't feel it necessary to mention it...appalling in my view (and in fact, that of many other caravaners too)!! As a result, and because it was clear that there would be no let up for the entire weekend, we were forced to spend all of our time away from the site. I think that the CC have a responsibility to warn people in advance of an event like this, as that would give the opportunity for would-be visitors to the site to make an informed decision as to whether to stay, or source a different venue. I suspect that the decision not to do so was already made, otherwise I have no doubt that there would've been countless cancellations, which of course would impact financially on the site...Truly disappointed, as it is a lovely site in a great spot. Our only criticism of the site facilities, was that for such a big site, there ought to be at least one extra toilet/shower block and more taps for water. Despite the lack of information, the staff were very helpful & friendly, I suspect they found themselves in the middle of a very awkward situation.

Response from the Club:

Hi AndAliJack,

Thank you for your review of our Malvern Hills Club Site, and we’re sorry your stay did not meet your expectations.

Whilst we were aware that the event would be taking place next door to the site, we didn't think it would impact our visitors. It was the first time the event had taken place at this location.

We met with the event organisers on three occasions regarding the noise levels as we understood that this could be spoiling the enjoyment of those staying on site.

We hope to be able to welcome you back to site soon and hope you were able to enjoy your time in Malvern.

Perfect

Stayed here over the May Bank Holiday. Very busy site but due to the very good layout you certainly didn't feel like you were squashed in. Large pitches. Good size park for the children - which was busy all the time. Toilets/Showers very clean. Lovely dog walk through the woods. Sufficient dog waste bins. The weather was fantastic so we didn't go far as it was so nice to just sit and relax by the caravan. Malvern is only a short trip away. Dog friendly pubs (The Swan and The Bluebell) close by. So nice we stayed an extra night. We had a problem with our caravan electrics when it came to leaving and we were conscious of taking up the pitch but the wardens were very accommodating which helped ease our stress!!! Only negative was a family had a drone and the constant "buzz" got a bit too much as well as a couple of very near misses of caravans being hit. Will definitely be returning.

Excellent

Must agree with previous comments . Well kept site, many thanks to the wardens for their friendly approach and hard work. One small word of warning, if you are pitched close to the entrance of the dog walk you will also be backing on to the guide camp field which can be a bit noisy when enthusiastic young campers are enjoying themselves!

Fantastic Site

Set amongst the stunning back drop of Malvern Hills the site had everything we needed. From the offset we had a wonderful welcome from staff and wardens who really couldn't do enough for you. The toilet/shower/washing blocks were well up to my OCD standards, warm and very clean. The site was maintained to a high standard had a lovely tranquil feel to it and its surrounded by some fantastic walks. Will most definitely be returning.

Perfect!

Spent the May Bank Holiday at this site, loved that we got to choose our pitch on arrival. ... The wardens always cheerful and happy to help. Found the site easily although can understand how it can be missed (could do with a sign opposite side of the entrance as you can drive past before seeing the sign depending on which way you are coming in). Everywhere lovely and clean with very nice views.. blissfully quiet, which is important to those who don't sleep well with traffic noise. We will definitely be back.

Bank Holiday Weekend

First stay here over the May Bank Holiday weekend to test out our new van that we picked up from Gloucester. Circumstances dictated that we arrived on site at 2:00pm on the Saturday which was obviously after most weekend campers had arrived. Not an ideal situation but despite there being no hard standing pitches we were still able to find a reasonable grass pitch. Initially we found the arrangement of the grass pitches confusing with the site so full with no apparent layout but once we were pitched it was nice that it was too regimented. The greeting on arrival could not have been better. Both toilet blocks were up to the normal club standards and the site was neat and tidy. Pitches are generally flat and the grass is firm and appeared well drained although we did not experience any rain. The dog walk/exercise area was better than some but sad to say that as usual some lazy owners still can't pick up after their dogs. There are further footpaths from the site but unfortunately we came up against cows which we tend to avoid with our dog. Malvern itself is a short drive away with fine walking on the hills above the town for the energetic. Would recommend a visit to Croome Park NT property also. Would suggest this is a great base to explore the area and intend to return in due course.

Great site

Great site but feel the caravan club have started to put to many pitches in to site to gain that extra few pounds. Apart from that great site.

Short Stay

Here for just two nights, just before Easter weekend. The site was very well kept and very clean and tidy, and with views over the Malvern Hills. It was by no means full at the time so had very enjoyable stay. Would use again.

Good location but cold amenity blocks

Good site, good location, well run but cold amenity blocks. This is a complaint about most club sites, in previous years blocks have been much warmer. Have the club issued an edict to save money on heating? It is most uncomfortable to get ready for a shower when surroundings are cold.
