Excellent site

Lovely site just a 20 minute level walk along pavements into Leyburn, passing the chocolate factory, Tennant's Auction centre with cafe, and the train station on the way. The site is very peaceful and pretty with lots of trees, a stream, ducks, rabbits and the peacock. The toilets and showers are modern and spotless with plenty of hot water and no push buttons! A special mention for assistant wardens Steve and Di, lovely friendly, helpful people, who made our stay even more enjoyable.

Short midweek stay

Peaceful site near enough to town to walk. Very helpful & friendly staff. Visited mainly for cycling , some great quiet roads & scenic routes. One of my favourite sites within 1 hour of home.

Lovely Site

We have just returned from spending 5 nights here. This was our first visit, but will not be our last. The wardens were very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them and were also visible around the site and happy to help with any questions. The site is kept clean and the washrooms are spotless. It's a lovely site with ducks and rabbits wandering about all day. Leyburn is a short walk away by either road or country path along the Shawl and takes about 15 minutes and is a lovely market town with a choice of pubs and restaurants.

Lovely Site

Super little site! Close to Leyburn, a 20 minute walk, buses every hour for those less able, it's a lovely town, lots to see and do around the area. Staff very friendly, hardworking and approachable. Will definitely be back!

Delightful

We have just returned from spending 5 nights here. This was our first visit, but definitely won't be the last. The wardens are very friendly and helpful, and despite arriving on a day which was busy with new arrivals nothing was too much trouble when assisting with pitching etc. They were also visible around the site and happy to help with any questions. The site is kept clean and the washrooms are spotless. It's lovely to sit and watch the ducks and rabbits wandering about and Gerald the peacock putting on a display! Leyburn is a 15 minute walk, a good market town with a choice of pubs and restaurants. A walk along the Shawl is well worth it to admire the views.

Amazing!

Just back from a great weekend stay at Lower Wensleydale. This is my favourite site to date! The pitches are secluded and surrounded by trees and flowers. The wildlife is rife - With rabbits and ducks roaming free - The highlight being the Peacock that has made the site his adopted home. Reason for saying was for hill walking with the dog - amazing walks all close by. We did about 12 miles on saturday walking to Wensley and then back through Layburn. The site has all the facilities that you would expect to see - didn't see a play park but we don't have young kids, so no issue for us. Will be back - Soon!

Lovely quiet site

We visited the site the last weekend in September, and it was our very first experience ever with a caravan. I was a bit concern about my skills and the access to the site, but the wardens were very helpful, especially to find a good pich.

The site is very nice, in the middle of nature but at a short walk from Leyburn. There are a lot of places to visit around too. Definitely worth a visit (or more...)

Woodlands

Lovely woodland location, no reception on 3G 4G on O2 there staff very friendly and helpful, toilets/shower block lovely and warm, very clean and tidy, lot of kids running around shouting till late at night, site access blind winding hillside, single track so need to be able to revers uphill if you meet oncoming traffic.

A Yorkshire Welcome

A great site, ideal for a get away, no child play area, but feeding the ducks was a good distraction for a 3 year old. All facilities are clean and well maintained. I was amazed to see constant cleaning of fallen leaves which in late October must near impossible, but the roads were kept clean. Opted for a late departure so need to get somebody to walk the single track road ( 10 min ) to avoid reversing the full length if meeting another vehicle.  The Pheasant Inn is just around the corner, John and Kath still serve a good pint at a great price, and recognised me and a visiting mate despite not having been in for 22 years.  Will definantly be back as the Yorkshire Dales will always be home.
