Splendid Site

A very nice site, albeit getting slightly tired now. Wardens were extremely friendly and helpful. We had an elevated yet sheltered plot. TV reception is poor so we used the Sat Dish. Ducks, (together with chicks) roamed the site as well as a rather splendid peacock and rabbits. Would definitely visit again.

Lovely location

First stay for 8 days over Easter. Lovely scenic and peaceful site with wonderful wildlife wandering around. Great location with Leyburn a mile away and good country pub serving drinks only nearby. Good for walking and dog friendly. Very friendly and helpful wardens. We were initially worried about access and put off visiting previously but it was fine as long as you strictly adhere to the arrival time, use the mirrors provided on the narrow road and take it steady. We will be back.

Pointless weekend trip if you work

Lovely site well maintained and very helpful wardens. Don't bother coming here if you work and or have schoolchildren for a weekend. Access to the site is tight and so strict arrival / departure protocol is necessary. Therefore arriving after work on a Friday evening means that you only have one day to explore this area of outstanding natural beauty. Sunday is pack up and go as you need to leave the site by 12 in order to avoid issues with arriving traffic on the narrow track leading to the site. Retired couples won't appreciated this and this is also applicable to other mortorhome & caravan club sites.

True Yorkshire Heaven

Truly named Gods Country. Everything was perfect, weather was superb, site was great, staff were friendly and efficient. My wife and I walked and cycled round the local area and really enjoyed everything. Went to the Golden Lion in nearby Leyburn for superb meals(real Yorkshire Portions) and fabulous draft ales. Will definitely be returning to this site.

Lovely site

Really nice, quirky site with beautiful views. It's close to the lovely market town of Leyburn - about a mile walk. The friendly, helpful wardens/assistant wardens make a difference to your stay too.

Fantastic site for young children and families

Fantastic site. Very friendly and incredibly helpful wardens (from phoning on ahead of us to get discounts on a day out to sourcing a rubber O ring for a gas manifold) who run a really well kept site. Ducks, ducklings, peacock and rabbits roaming freely - boys loved it. Very safe site and felt happy letting them out of sight to cycle round and meet new friends. Our 8 year old actually cried when it came to time for us to leave - he'd enjoyed it so much! Plenty of really good days out nearby - Bolton Castle, Wensleydale railway, Lightwater Valley, Childrens farm in Bedale and the Forbidden corner - all really recommended and well worth the money. Was first here over 30 years ago in my childhood - was looking forward to letting the boys explore the old kilns and build dens in the woods, but the woods are now a static caravan park (which illuminates the stone quarry faces a green colour at night which is very pleasant to look at). The kiln refractorys are now all bricked up and fenced off - I guess H&S has got the upper hand here! Anyway, great site - great location and loved every minute of it.

Friendly site in lovely location

A lovely location, the site is not crowded so you can enjoy the views from your pitch. When we were there there were ducks and ducklings and the site peacock wandering around. The facilities were very clean and good. The wardens were friendly and very helpful. There is good walking from the site and from Leyburn the little white bus takes you on a great tour of Wensleydale villages en route to Hawes. We had a lovely stay and would really recommend this site.

Fabulous quirky site.

Visited for the first time, what a beautiful terraced site. Very pretty and interesting. Once visited you will want to go back. Wardens are fabulous at this site. Others could learn a lot from them. Immaculate facilities even if they are the usual dated block type. Peacocks and ducks wander this site due to stream running across front of club house. Good local pub serving excellent beer but not food and just a 5 min walk away. Local village easily reached on foot approx 20 min walk. All in all a fabulous place to stay.
