A week spent in beautiful Looe

This site is large...but I didn't feel it was overly big. I guess that was given to it being naturally split into two with one area of grass pitches and one of almost entirely hard standing. Each area has an immaculate toilet block and in the centre there is a lovely dog exercise area. The site has great facilities for families inc. heated pool, tennis, crazy golf and a great play area inc. a ball area...I guess in school holidays it will be very popular. The vans are laid out in a formal fashion and there are huge conifers that could really do with being removed (imo). Anybody booking this site thinking they will have a leisurely stroll into Looe, think again. Though only 2 miles distance it is not an easy walk -- though there is a bus stop right outside. Looe was really nice though and Polperro and Fowey stunning. It is a short drive up to Bodmin Moor where you can see the Hurlers (stone circle) and the Cheesewring, both a short walk from the village of Minnions. This site is a credit to the club but in particular the fantastic wardens who keep the place immaculate and were really great. Would reserve a mention for Glyn who was a really special guy and it is obvious he loves his role.

Maybe not for us

Very big site which felt slightly soulless. Wardens welcoming and facilities kept clean. Good 20 min walk into town and seemed much longer coming back up cardiac hill. Bus service available but finishes very early evening so walk or expensive taxi if you wanted to go into town for a pint. No doubt very busy in season but just not our kind of site.

Superb stay made special by the wardens

We stayed here for 2 weeks with our 2 young children.  The site was as a immaculate as the best we have seen, with great facilities for kids.  However what really made it for us was the consistently warm welcome from the wardens, especially towards the kids.  The location is great for Looe with plenty to do locally.  For a simple lunch in an unusual location visit the treetop cafe at the nearby monkey sanctuary - we loved it.

Looe us our favourite site

Lovely site and local to us. It's ideal for families or just couples. Even the dogs feel at home now. The pool is very clean but would benefit from a toilet being nearer to it. The toilets are very clean as are the showers. Best site it's our favourite one.

Spring tour

Second visit to the site this year, bit too far out of Looe but good bus service. larger pitches than normal (good) but would imagine very busy and noisy in summer holidays. Best to visit Spring or Autumn. We will be back.

Great site

Just returned home from the May half term week away in Looe. Great campsite for children, they loved the park and the swimming pool. The pool was lovely and warm and always had a warden present.  The facilities were always clean and well maintained. We had no problems with noise or children crossing our pitches, the service pitches are parked opposite the park so I suppose in half term holidays its to be expected. Wardens were always to hand and very friendly. Made some lovely friends. We will be visiting again!!!

Beautiful/Clean but noisy

We have never visited this site before and were really impressed with the over all cleanliness and maintenance of the site. It was beautiful and very modern, with lots to do for families. All staff were friendly and approachable.  The pool was open and again was well maintained and clean. This was half term that we were visiting so as expected there was a lot of children on site. The only downside to the site was the children running around until it went dark. They were all over everyone's pitches and generally very noisy in the park area. This went on until 10pm when it went dark. They treated the equipment badley and showed no respect for peoples personal spaces etc. Maybe a few more inspections by the wardens is needed to keep it in check. My advice would be to stay on the pitches at the bottom of the site away from the play areas.

Fantastic site in a great position for North East Cornwall

This site sets the standards for other Caravan Club sites. The staff were very friendly and helpful always with a pleasant word and a smile. The site is located just five minutes drive outside Looe. Although we were told it was possible to walk in and out, a very steep hill and no path we were very dubious. The facilities are top class, always clean and never crowded although we visited in Mid May. The on site children's facilities including the heated swimming pool looked inviting although at peak times may have been different. If visiting this site be sure and visit the Coddy Shack which serves top fish and chip suppers (take away or eat in) and is located next door to the site.  Yes we will be visiting again - a five star site, top class.
