Lovely Pool

We usually go to CL sites as we prefer the relaxed atmosphere. On arriving 8 minutes early we were greeted by the warden reminding us we were early, no arrivals before 1 pm which MUST be adhered to and also stating two wardens were on lunch! He told us to pull up to the barrier and wait. We were the first! Within minutes three other outfits arrived. Did they get the same warm welcome? How disappointing to receive such a welcome after a long drive and looking forward to our holiday. Surely this was not really necessary but he obviously felt the need to vent. We had travelled for 10 hours and the traffic had been good so we’re 8 minutes early! This is what puts me off coming to Club sites, wardens who love to lecture about the rules 🤦‍♀️ Lovely pool, nice clean toilet blocks and reasonable price with 20% off offer. Sadly too many dog owners letting their dogs bark meant it wasn’t as quiet as we would have liked but I suppose that’s the downside of large club sites.

Happily unchanged in 12 years

We last visited this site 12 years ago and were pleased to find that it is still a lovely place to stay. The site is well maintained by friendly and helpful wardens who, unusually in our experience, provided all day access to the shop, which is well stocked. The local sausages are delicious. The Town is largely unchanged and still picturesque since our last visit with numerous small shops but does lack a quality food shop. Morrisons at Liskeard is about 30 minutes drive away if a more varied shop is required. Talland bay to the west and Seaton to the east are unspoilt and have lovely beaches, both with cafes. Polperro and Charlestown, which was used for some of he dockland locations in the Poldark series, are worth a visit, although now are over commercialised. It was pleasing to see that crabbing from both the harbour wall and at the lagoon in Looe is a happy pastime for children and brought back happy memories of our daughter's joy at a successful catch.

Cornish delight

We’ve been previously and this site is always quiet and peaceful even though it is a large site. We visited before the schools broke up for their summer break so did not have that experience. We chose a grass pitch this time and found a majority of them are on quite a slope, especially nearer to the toilet block, therefore requiring levelling blocks. There is no pathway directly from your pitch to the toilet block except through gaps in the fencing where the EHU boards are, you may have to pass close to a.n.other outfit to get access, it didn’t bother us. There are a lot of rabbits on site so watch for rabbit holes and your dog wanting to chase them! Plenty to do in the area, Looe is a lovely little town with very clean beach and independent shops to accommodate all tastes, cafes, supermarkets, gift shops etc. Further afield you have The Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Plymouth, Polperro are also worth visiting. It is recommended that you DO NOT use your sat nav in this area, you will get lost if you do! All the wardens were extremely helpful and knowledgeable, even the ones who had only started on site during our first few days we were there. Thank you

Great site

Great site, very peaceful. I just have to correct a previous review, it is very safe to walk into Looe from the site and there is a footpath all the way, just ask for instructions from reception and follow carefully. Bus into and out of Looe is very easy.

Dont arrive before 1300 hours.

This site is really nice, a lovely swimming pool. A short walk to the bus stop outside the Parkdean Holiday Camp which takes you down into Looe or Polperro. We had a nice meal at the Tregoad Caravan Park in their Stargazy Bar and Restaurant. Dont arrive before 13.00 hours during the week, otherwise you could find yourselves in a predicament especially if you have a long unit. They send you down the road to the local school to wait until that time, that works well but only at the weekends. When the school car park is used during the week not sure where they would send you.

Lovely Quiet Site

Stayed here during May half term with two children. Is a lovely site and will definitely stay again. I had no idea there was a swimming pool - Caravan Club why is there no picture of the swimming pool on the site profile pictures so people are aware when scanning the available sites along that coast?? Also worth mentioning, there is a footpath all along the route from the site to Looe - this doesn’t seem to mentioned anywhere that I saw so worth noting for people who like us, aren’t keen on walking on country lanes with children etc., it’s a nice half hour walk to East Looe (crabbing is popular and all the gear can be bought in the shops if required).

Lovely Bank Holiday Stay At Looe.

Just back from a lovely, relaxing stay at the Looe site. Weather was a bit damp on the first evening, but the next day it turned warm & the whole site was dry in no time! Showers & toilets were first class. Play area & crazy golf were both immaculate & a good size. Staff were fantastic, very friendly, very helpful & were on the go all day long, keeping this lovely site in a first class condition. Looe itself is about an hours stroll from the site, but there are some great taxi companies operating & the local buses pick up from outside the ajacent holiday park, which is about a 5 minute walk. We loved it here & have booked a 7 night stay again in September. Really looking forward to our next visit already.

Nice quiet site

Friendly and pleasant staff. Nice, quiet, well looked after site but I was there out of the school holidays (April) so there were very few other people there and no children. I can't comment on the loos/showers as I have my own facilities. Not the fault of the campsite or the staff but ... don't rely on the local buses! I was told to download the bus app which I did - it is a complete work of fiction! For example, it says there are 4 buses an hour when there is only one during the week (2 an hour in the summer holidays). Other people I met at the bus stop (not all from the same site) said exactly the same - work of fiction. The timetable at the actual bus stops seems to be the most accurate one (tip: take photos of it for reference) but the buses are often late and don't always turn up. I was lucky one day but waited 50 minutes the next day and over an hour the day after. Several people gave up and either started walking, went back to get their cars or got taxis.

Eerriiiee quiet... Empty

After traveling 4hrs to get here on 30th Oct the site was empty... Found out only 6 would be in the whole site.. the site itself is very large top site grass bottom hardstanding open pitches... We were on pitch 172 I think . Half term was very windy and very heavy showers etc . We did put up our canopy on day 1 to it then being blown down through the night.. our caravan was shaking/moving how windy it was.. the whole site was open . No privacy at all anywhere.. we took a walk around and yes they got good facilities IE park, golf, tennis courts but the grass pitches we really uneven very close to each other.. went into Looe it was very pretty .. nice beach nice harbour lots of shops etc we also travelled on the bus to omg I cat even think of the name.. what a waste of time.. nothing open.. a long walk from the bus stop to even look about.. would never go back.. 2nd night the weather was so bad we had lots of our things blown everywhere it was scary.. we left the next day.. didn't stay out full length of time as it was awful . I did have Looe booked again next year.. we cancelled.. it's far to windy and there just is any privacy on your pitch.. if the place was full... Toliet facilities etc were clean and tidy as are all sires..glad I came and saw the place but I won't be returning
