Having recently visited during the Easter Break, we can say Longleat is our favourite club site. Facilities were excellent and appeared to have been recently refurbished, site is kept perfectly tidy, nicely laid out with a mixture of tree's and open spaces for children to play as well as a indoor area with table tennis and pool, all making it a good choice for families. Longleat itself is literally next door, we had a 5 day pass which needs to be booked prior to arrival to benefit from the clubs discount. There is plenty to see and do around Longleat itself for both children & adults, house and grounds are excellent, set within beautiful countryside, a wide range of animals, activity's, play areas and peace and quiet with nothing but the roar of lions or sea lions at night.
NOTE; Club members which arrive early, why? It is important to follow the clubs advice reference arrival times, and the narrow spots on the access route, we left at 10:45 and met another caravan coming down the lane, very annoying.
Would also like to mention the newly recruited assistant wardens, very helpful and welcoming. An example to all other wardens.
Longleat Easter weekend
This is the 2nd time we have stayed there it is with out doubt one of the best, i have read a few of the other reviews about the road in, I have a 23ft motor home with a tow car and have not had any problems, as we take the clubs advice and arrive around 2PM and make sure we go before 12AM, yes the road can be a bit narrow but there are loads of pull-ins you just have to take it at a steady pace as the view ahead is good the only real bad bit is when you turn in off the main road there are 2 blind bends but hay its not a race take your time, there is one good point in another review, maybe the club could do a deal with the estate to have a camping and open grounds ticket (not inc the safari park) just the house and grounds that may be good as you could then use the restaurants and cafe extra ,
Other than that the site is spot on,
OK tip here for you all the TV and satellite is rubbish but hay on our last night there we found TV hook up's on each post and it works fab
Cheers

Family Easter Holiday
As we have done before my wife and daughter with her family had a few nice days at The Longleat Site.
The site itself is hard to fault but there there are a couple of things that detract from the overall enjoyment..
Firstly the approach road is very narrow in places and if you have a large van you have to hope you don't meet other vehicles coming the other way.
The club have tried to help in as much as asking people not to arrive before 1.00pm and making latest time off of site 12.00 noon
The other very annoying thing is the fact that caravan club members are not able to walk up to use the restaurants at Longleat without having a valid day ticket. It seems to me both the owners of Longleat and the Caravan Club are missing a trick as at one time you were able to do this.
Longleat Estate only stand to make money by allowing Caravan Club members access to the restaurants and as you are not able to enter any of the other facilities without a ticket they could not lose by allowing this facility.
The club would also benefit by making the stay more attractive and cutting down car movement, it's a no brainer.

Fantastic site
We recently visited during the Easter holidays and the site in our opinion is Best in class. Great facilities (extremely) well maintained, a good on-site shop, outdoor activities & kids Room and great pitches (which were not shaded as experienced with some Club sites). I have to make a special mention also...that the WIFI was excellent - the first site we have visited where I have more than 1 bar on the IPAD, and it doesn't take all-day to read the Daily Mail. Sorry for the hint of sarcasm - but seriously both TV (with cable to bollard) and Wifi were great, especially considering the Rural location. Beyond the site, the location is great, with so much on offer to keep both kids and Wife happy..!; Longleat itself is a great 2 day visit, Bath & Salisbury for cultured City shopping, Stonehenge for some history, Poulton Park for the little ones (Peppa Pig World) and Bournemouth was only just over the hour, for a stroll on the beach. We will definitely be back (once I've had a good rest...and finished reading the Daily Mail...)
Great easter break
Great site, perfectly located for the safari park, bath, bristol etc.
Worth remembering that you need to get your discount tickets the day before. could benefit from some extra showers as when site is full there is a que. Wardens friendly and welcoming.
My biggest issue sit with fellow members who fail to arrive after 1. The access lane is very narrow with some blind bends which with a large outfit require a bit of a wide swing. Leaving at 11:50 saw 2 other caravaners arriving and causing issue with us leavers. I hope the wardens turned them away but i feel they may have been let in as its difficult for them. Poor show from fellow members!
However, that said, great site and we will be back :)
Perfect site for Families
Stayed here for 5 nights recently and was very impressed with the site. It was perfect place for our son aged 5 and our dog. The Safari park conveniently located next door. It was ideally situated near Frome, Bath and Bristol, all worth a visit. It is definitely a site I will be visiting again

Second visit to this unique site.
Visited this site for the second time in as many years and once again we weren't disappointed. Obviously really convenient for visiting Longleat, which is amazing. But also a good base for exploring other places. We visited Stonehenge, Lacock and Castle Combe from here. Great site for children with lots of play areas and facilities. An excellent on site dog walk but plenty of places to walk dogs outside of the site. We were on a pitch very near the lake where the children enjoyed waving to the train and listening to the Sea Lions. There was a very loud dawn chorus from the many birds on the site but such a small price to pay for being in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside. We were told by a warden that we could walk to a pub in half an hour when it was in fact more like 55 minutes. Yes we were walking with children but they have experience at hill and mountain walking in Wales and the Alps! The beer was worth it along with having a different view of the Giraffes and Safari drive through Longleat.
Great Site!
Really enjoyed the stay at this location and will be returning this year!
Great for visiting Longleat Safari Park!
Facilities/ Staff were great and the site itself was lovely. I would recommend anyone to visit this site.
Lovely site
Lovely site, warm friendly welcome on arrival.
Peaceful site situated next to Longleat Safari Park. Peaceful location green fields as far as you can see.
When the site is full insufficient toilet facilities, this is the only CC site I have had to queue to use the facilities.
TV reception poor, however you can hook up to the bollard, satellite reception is also poor choose your pitch carefully if you have a dish on the roof.
Chippy van on Friday, however only French fries served not your proper chips.
Site is accessed by a long winding lane with blind bends, from the A36, watch for large pot holes at the road sides, the locals drive rather fast though lanes, beware.
Longleat is well worth a visit.
Small play area for young children, but does have a bigger ball games area for older children, with family games room.
No local shop but supermarkets within 15 minutes drive
Would visit again if in the area.
One Of Our Favourite Sites
We stayed here two years ago and liked the site and location so much we booked six nights this time.
The Wardens are really great and so helpful, the site is kept to a very high standard and the loos and showers were spotless. The grounds are great with a small nature garden, with descriptions, to walk around.
The location is excellent, while here we visited the Haynes Motor Museum and the Fleet Air Arm museum, plus Wells Cathedral and Weston Super Mare. And of course the Estate itself with the Club discount.
A word of warning for those going North after leaving the site. Just outside Bath on the A36 our Satnav took us through Barthampton to join the A4. This was a big mistake, narrow twisty single lane road with a nasty turn at the Toll that we only just got past after other cars moved for us. Should have stuck on the A36 and followed it to Bath and out on the London Road to join the A4.
