3 day break

We recently stayed at this site taking advantage of the CC discount for a 2 day pass to Longleat which was good value. We purchased the £5 safari bus ticket that takes you through all the enclosures, it's a great way to see all the attractions without having your car wrecked by the monkey's! The club site is clean and well cared for, the wardens were very helpful and friendly throughout our stay. The visiting fish & chip van was well organised, food was hot and freshly cooked. All in all this is a great site we will come back again.

Wonderful for Kids and Safari

We stayed at the site Thursday 22 June to Sunday 25 with our 2 children, aged 7, to visit the safari park. We got the tickets with the C&MC online. We bought the 2 day ticket as the C&MC web site stated that you can buy an extra day ticket at cost pf £10 per person (this worked out chepear for 3 days than buying the 5 day ticket we could not use all 5 days) however when I arrived at longleat guest services they said the web site was wrong, they still honored the offer though (after much debate) and I was permitted to buy the tickets for the extra day. The C&MC site is very peaceful, its on the esate so no traffic noise. All facilities clean and very big ptiches. The site staff were really friendly and helpful. the only down side is the long access lane which means you cannot leave later than 12.00 (even if they wanted you to stay longer) as caravans would be coming up the late to arrive. We had amazing food in warminsiter Snooty Fox (found on trip advisor). The longleat safari park was excellent, we did everyihing more than once over the 3 days. the main square is only 5 minutes walk from the site so if you have a ticket the kids enjoy the facilites there while its open. The C&MC play park is very small and aimed at 2-5 year olds, as this is such a family focused site ideally it should be larger with more agest catered for, in peak times it would not be big enough for all the kids. If you are not using the safari park and cannot acess their facilities, it might be too quiet for kids, if you see some of the reviews moaning about children on scooters you willl note the members who are not tollerant to children (many of whoom post on discussions). We saw kids scootering and they were following the rules and stopped well before 9pm so really not a big deal. Lovely peaceful site for safari park woluld visist again to see wider area.

Beautiful site ruined by electric / normal scooters

We stayed at this site from 2nd to 5th June 2017. Beautifully located for visiting longleat and a great base for Bath. Facilities are good and the washrooms are nice and clean. We parked our touring van on plot 163 - adjacent to the toilet block as we had an 18 month old baby and this was possibly the shortest walk. However, this pitch was also on the junction of 2 roads and seemed to be the meeting point for all the kids on site....... and they all used this section of road as a race track for there scooters, both manual and electric!!! I had to politely ask kids to go and play near there own caravans, especially in the evening when we were trying to relax and put little man to sleep. This single factor really did ruin our stay at the caravan site and, although we did inform the site staff, nothing changed. Having paid a premium we are, i believe, entitled to a degree of privacy and peace and quiet...... i expected more from this site, i didn't expect a race track.

Fabulous bank holiday first visit

We visited this site for the first time with our friends who have a touring van as well. We were all very impressed from the start of our visit to the end. Wardens very friendly and the site was a credit to them. Facilities very clean on a very busy weekend. Our pitches were very generous and accommodate our twin axle vans, awnings and cars with ease. We walked into Longleate Safari Park having pre booked taking advantage of the club discount. We took advantage of the bus around the Safari Park it cost £5 each but having some of the cars coming out of the monkey enclosure money well spent. I'd recommend this site to anybody. We shall all be returning. .

Wonderful site

This was our first visit. What a great experience from start to finish. The site is exceptionally beautiful nestled in the midst of the Longleat Estate. Above all it is peaceful and tranquil--barring the occasional lion and sea lion roar! We were there for nearly three weeks [outside of the school holidays]. The staff show immense pride in their work and this is reflected in the very high standard of the grounds and facilities. They have an exceptionally good information room largely due to the wardens input. The wardens are friendly and most helpful. We had an electrical fault which was tripping the system and the warden expertly helped us to identify our kettle as the culprit. He was most friendly and knowledgeable. There is bags to do in the surrounding area especially if you like walking and sightseeing. The countryside is stunning and there are lovely towns and villages such as Frome and Mells nearby. The grounds of Stourhead are sublime. Importantly whilst Longleat Safari Park will be a draw for many it is by no means the only worthwhile attraction. If you have not been to this site yet, get in your car, hitch up, and go there now!

Disappointed

Having recommended this Site to friends and family, we were upset to learn that we were no longer able to walk from the Site into Longleat as in previous years. We haved paid for various attractions individually iin the past, but now are unable to pop into the cafe/restaurant/pub on the grounds. We expect that there will be quite a few people who don't want to have to pay a full day Adult Ticket in order to have a cup of coffee! Also on our day of arrival, we arrived at 1pm, following instruction from the Club not to arrive earlier, only to find people had already been allowed entry (and set up). Although it is an excellent Site and we have enjoyed our stays here, we doubt we will return next year.

Lovely Site

This is an excellent site. Facilities very clean also the overall site was very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. The most special thing was sitting in the evening hearing the Lions roar. Also you can hear the sea lions most of the day. Nice walks with the dog. Will return.

More than on our first ever trip

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars on peace and quiet was because we'd pitched near the entrance Road. Minimal traffic though. There are loads of pitches where you wouldn't be near the road. Toilets and wash facilties better than many 5 star hotels we've been to. Get a two day longleat pass and go through the safari twice. One day include the house, the other day do the rest. You are two minutes away in the car. Pitch sizes great. No way could you have felt cramped in. Plenty of trees. Plenty of birds twittering. Everyone running the place were friendly and helpful. We've booked up for another three days.

Best site ever !

This site is the friendliest site we have been to, very kid friendly and has a lovely feel to it. Walking dogs in beautiful wood smelling of bluebells and wild garlic and listening to sea lions and lions roaring at night very entertaining. Staff lovely has overtaken my local site Malvern Hills as the nicest site we have visited will definitely be back .

Fantastic site

This is one of the best sites we have been on. The site was full due to bank holiday weekend but nevertheless quiet . The shower blocks and toilets immaculate. It is within walking distance to visit Longleat park so you don't need to drive unless you wish to do the drive through safari yourself rather than the Longleat bus. The pitches on the site were flat and well kept. We did get a TV reception too. I intend to re visit this site but will stay longer next time.
