A quiet and peaceful site.
In the main we enjoyed our stay at Longleat. The site was virtually empty throughout which added to the relaxed feel of the stay. If the site was full I suspect that the toilet blocks may be inadequate at peak times. Access to the site is an issue. Always ensure that you follow the directions as per the sites handbook. Sat-navs may well direct you down a very narrow series of roads which the handbook warn against using. I would stress the importance of taking the advised route only.
One thing that members should be aware of is that if a refill gas bottle is needed then bank cards are not accepted at Longleat, cash only. I am unsure how widespread this is throughout other club sites but it was the first I knew of it. I needed a gas bottle refill and as I did not know the rule I turned up at the office with bank card in hand. I was not trusted to take the full bottle to my caravan and return with the cash because the warden had 'been caught out like that before'. If I was leaving the site the next day then possibly there may have been some risk but I was not due to leave for another four days. That lack of trust soured the stay.
