Still a superb site.

This was our 3rd.visit in under a year, and as always the site didn’t disappoint in any way. Very friendly and helpful wardens, very clean toilet facilities, excellent dog walking areas & very well maintained grounds. The site is a bit remote if you’re a motor homer with no tow car (as we are) but for us that’s no problem. We’ve booked yet another visit there in September as part of another of our ‘Road Tour’ type holidays.

Great site but....

We went yet again to Longleat C&MH site with our grandaughter on our annual trip. The site is clean, tidy & the pitches have lots of space. The wardens are really friendly & welcoming. As many have said being so close to the Safari Park is fantastic & listening to the animals a joy. However I haven't given it 5 star ratings due to a few niggling issues. There is a small play park with a few pieces of equipment all very nicely done. On their info leaflet it says there is a field put aside for ball games etc but when we went to play tents were now on that field so it was impossible for us to play there & playing ball games amongst the caravans is a no, no. There are two toilets & facilities blocks either end of the park cleaned daily however the one nearest us is shut from 11:30-12:30 daily for cleaning. As we have to leave at 12:00 it means that when you want to do that last minute loo trip you have to walk to the other side of the park, not good if you have mobility issues. I don't understand why they don't clean it between 12 & 1 so its between people having left & those arriving. The park is a lovely place during the week. We stayed Monday to Saturday & were glad to be going as Friday night it was rammed & somehow that is when there is always some people who insist on playing their music loud & talking loudly until gone midnight. Not somewbere I'd stay at a weekend but fantastic for a 6 day break.

Nice site

We stayed on the site for nearly a week, hard working friendly wardens who keep the site clean and tidy. It was very busy over the weekend and the facilities were pushed to the limits, had to queue for the showers. However once the pressure eased after the weekend it was fine, though would mention a note to the club officials - even though the wardens kept the facilities spotlessly clean the club should consider an upgrade, cubicles small especially the benches. We were unfortunate to have limited choice of pitches when we arrived and chose one that we found out later in the day (once we had set up) to be opposite 3 families all together, children running backwards and forwards to each others vans, children and adults shouting to each others vans, adults sitting outside in the evening then moving into awning until past midnight. I don't want to spoil peoples holidays but do wish the club would cater for adults only (maybe adult only areas especially in large sites) who have come away for a quiet holiday as well as the families who want to play together. The Safari park is 'the other side of the hedge' so the sea lions are heard daily and its a very short walk into the park. The club members have a discounted entry fee which is good value.

Lovely Site,But.....................

We recently stopped at Longleat for four nights and found it an excellent well kept site but for one factor. Many pitches are greatly overhung by trees which are in severe need of cutting back, they block out the sun, leave pitches damp after rain and deposit leaves, sap etc.on vans. They need to be done at some time or the place will be a jungle,so why not now whilst they are "manageable". In my opinion they spoil an otherwise cracking site. The wardens are fantastic and work hard to keep the site clean and tidy, well up to CMC standards. Of course the main attraction is Longleat itself which is well worth a two day pass using CMC discount.

Grandaughter's treat.

It's time again to visit Longleat with the grand daughter so the Caravan club site is the obvious choice. Even though it might be easy to rely on it's access to the safari Park, the site maintains the high quality of services and amenities that we expect from the Club. I have marked down a point on "peace and quiet" , this is purely to reflect the reality that a "dawn chorus" from the sea lions can be quite noisy. For us this all adds to the adventure, but it may be an issue for very light sleepers, 'though obviously beyond anyone's control. A great club site with it's unique situation adjacent to an amazing attraction.

Relaxing Site

We have visited this site many times as it is an easy getaway for us. The site offers everything you need for a peaceful relaxing stay. The facilities are spotless and the grounds are well tended offering a wide choice of pitches. Staff obviously work hard to maintain standards. The site is close to lots of interesting places to explore. The proximity to Longleat Safari Park and its attractions will appeal to families. We will continue to visit and enjoy this beautiful site

Fantastic Easter Family Break

This is a lovely site. I recently visited with my husband, a nearly 3 year old and an 18 month old. The site is very clean and well looked after and the staff were all friendly and polite. We visited Longleat on a 2 day pass which i think to be honest we could have done 3 days - the safari and animals are amazing and the boat trip is a must. The play area is amazing inside Longleat and my eldest son would of happily had a full day in there, if you have young children there is also a fantastic smaller play area for them. There is not much around to eat at and the food at Longleat is very expensive so i advice Picnics in the day and cooking your own food at night. Also when you are visiting Longleat we did the boat trip first thing in the morning as it gets very busy and then the safari later on in the day, all the animals were awake and walking around. We did go through the monkeys and were very lucky but they do tend to pull things off your car, we saw two cars reverse sensors being pulled off. All in all fantastic site and would revisit again in a heartbeat.

Another Great Stay!

We stayed here last weekend and from the minute we arrived the team of Wardens were welcoming, friendly and efficient, making our stay a great one from start to finish! We will stay again, as it is a great site, and perfect for Longleat. Dog walk on site, but can't take Dogs into Longleat, Longleats rules not the sites. One draw back we have found is the box to put your fob key into on exit is very low, ideal if you are in a Car & Caravan but, if you are in a Motor home it is impossible to lean down and place it in the letter box as it ideally could do with a height extension on the top to make it easier. Not a major issue, just a pain, wouldn't put us off staying at the site.

Brilliant Site

Our first visit to Longleat was over Christmas and New Year and we have returned again for their opening this Spring. The site itself is peaceful and spacious. The pitches are a good size for our 8ft caravan and large awning. You actually can hear the lions roar and sea lions barking. Longleat is one of our favorite sites. The Wardens, Gail and Mark, are the most lovely and helpful people. We have booked to come back another four times this year and the main reason is to see them as they make us feel welcome. The facilities on site are always clean and the showers are lovely and hot. Our dog loves the site too. The site is close to Frome and Warminster for shops and eateries. It’s fair to say Longleat is a credit to the club.
