Unfriendly warden

The site and area is so lovely , plenty to see and do for all ages , walks from the site and the lovely Knaresborough itself On arrival only one person at a time was allowed in , as if was 1pm there was a queue, I had to wait out in the cold while others checked in Then he wouldn’t touch any cards or even my gift vouchers , had to show him through the screen and tear them up in front of him . When I asked about these rules he said because of Covid , had to wear a mask in there too although all restrictions had been lifted The bar/ restaurant only open certain days and times . We would return but a smile would be nice on arrival

Lovely site

The site is kept really clean and highly maintained and to a very high standard. We found the on-site team really helpful and friendly, and on hand for any queries. Great for families, there is a well kept and fantastic play area for the kids, with a nice dog walk on site too. Would highly recommend, with lots to do nearby.

Amazing Site

We loved this site! Clean, quiet, well kept, lovely staff… the list goes on! We had a fully serviced pitch close to the small Childrens play area which is lovely. The site was very quiet, despite being busy and all communal areas were well kept. The toilet block was very clean and the underfloor heating in the showers was great! We are in the restaurant twice, the food was lovely really taste and not badly priced at all. The staff were so helpful and polite. Only a short drive in to lovely Knaresborough, Ripley and Harrogate are close by too. We would give this site 10/10 and can’t wait to go back!

Watch out for the rude and aggresive member of the reception team

This site is soulless and cramped, by that I mean that it is just roads and pitches, no effort has been made to enhance the edges by bushes, maybe it is too soon. The pitches are also very close together. In reception upon arrival we paid the fees and were given a receipt and asked to come back when we had chosen a pitch, we needed one with a blue peg - the black and white map of the site makes it quite difficult to see where the blue pitches were, but there is a large coloured map on the wall in reception, wish I had looked at it before I set off as there was only 1 blue peg pitch vacant. Returning to reception I was asked to pay, I replied that I had already paid and had a receipt at which point a member of staff came from the rear and spoke to the lady on the till, who was new, saying that she shouldn't take the word of a guest that they had paid, apparently I could have picked the receipt up from the floor or got it from another guest! I am going to give you all the abridged version now, this lady was incredibly abusive to me and the poor new member of staff, the whole sorry episode ended with us being asked to open the banking ap on our phone and show them that the payment had gone through! We have of course contacted the club about the treatment we received but of the 2 emails I have received from them it is clear that they think it is perfectly okay for their staff to abuse members and fellow workers. Needless to say we will not be returning and will also not be renewing our membership when it runs out.

Knarsborough site

Excellent site with all the facilities you could want. The staff were extremely efficient. Onsite Bistro was very good with a good choice of food and drink. If all the sites were as good as this life would be great.

Perfect half term break!

We had to move this booking forward a couple of days due to the high winds, but we finally arrived and was met by the site assistant warden, who was extremely friendly and helpful. We parked up and set up in readiness to recharge our batteries. The site, while full was quiet and relaxing, with other caravaners passing the time of day with each other. The facilities on this site are always spotlessly clean and the Bistro there serves really tasty food at a reasonable price. The service is friendly and the food arrived in a timely manner. Its not too far from where we call home, so it's an ideal quick getaway for us. But if you are coming from further afield there is lots to see and do in the area. A big thank you to the on site team, brilliant stay! See you again soon!

Lovely clean site but a bit bland for me

Booked a short one night stop as was in the York area. The site was very clean, well presented and spacious. Warden very nice and helpful. Perfect motorhome facilities. The site is on a bus route to Knaresborough which is perfect for a motorhome pitch if you don't want to drive out. I thought the site was bland to look at, very little green areas around the pitches and a sea of gravel and tarmac, if you're looking for a wildlife or countryside view this isn't it (maybe different when trees in leaf?)

My other niggle was the play park. I arrived with children expecting them to have access to the park but access to the park was closed off due to building works on some other pitches. Though if the building area was fenced accordingly then access could have been given to the park, but it was clearly easier for the site to just close off. As a family booking on a family site I would like to have known at point of booking that this park was closed, i would not have gone there otherwise. The park was not in the building area and access could have been workable if thought out. There was no shop items either, missing a trick here to make some extra money on small confectionary items.

I paid for site wifi but it was rubbish,  wasted my money there.

In all the site had everything you'd expect from a CAMC site so can't fault that, just wasn't very appealing for me and my family and what we expected to see and do.

Great Time

Just spent 4 nights at this great site, very large pitches well spaced out. Site facilities are very good and are kept immaculate on a day to day basis. Excellent location for getting around whether by car or bus, must point out busses or not frequent so planning is a must. All round a well run site and we will definitely be back.

Good overall site

Having just spent 3nights at this site I can say it is a brilliant around site with plenty of walking and cycling in the area... We visited Harrogate by bike and walked to Knarsborough walking to Knarsborough can be done via the busy main road 40mins with a few dodgy bits of road to cross.. or the scenic way via Nidd Gorge recomended though can be muddy in places however I have been through Knarsborough many times in my life but never looked around it's a lovely place to spend a few hours The only disappointment on our site was the abrupt first greeting we arrived about 20mins early to be told the office is closed until 1

Short break

We love this site, friendly welcome by the wardens. We were told that they have just started a trial for Sunday breakfast at the Wanderer ( which we didn’t do). So you have to return your menus back to Reception by the Saturday. We did eat in the Wanderer Sunday lunch at £12.95 and it was fabulous and the next night a chefs Special curry (Thai yellow curry) which was also fabulous. There are lots of walks around the area as well as bus stops outside the site for Ripon, Knaresborough, where you can get the bus to Harrogate.
