Great site, great wardens, great walks along the River Nidd. Knaresborough is a superb town with lots to see, great pubs, butchers etc etc. The Wanderer is a lovely addition to the site, good beers selection and our food was really good. Only disappointment was poor WiFi reception and the local pub in Scotton a 6 minute walk away doesn’t accept dogs when they are serving food.......
This was our first visit and it didn't disappoint. Facilities were nice and clean. A warm welcome on arrival from the wardens.
The Wanderer bar & kitchen had a good selection of alcohol and the food was second to none. Very reasonably priced too (even did take away).
Already booked another visit for later this year and I'm sure there will be many more in the future.
Everybody has their favourite site and this one certainly is ours.
Our first time at Knaresborough and won’t it won’t be our last. Thanks to all the staff for making our stay such a pleasant one. The shower block, pitches and site where very clean and tidy. The wanderer (bar) was welcoming and had a good range of food and drink.
Keep up the good work and thanks once again.
Stopover again on way north. This site is splendid. Facilities, and access are ideal for our needs, but a longer stop is always a pleasure, with the great towns around within easy reach. The restaurant is a bonus, so you dont have to cook on a stopover, but, my only gripe, is it is a tad expensive for a club facility. I suggest a basic daily special menu, such as on the continent. Two courses for a tenner.....
We have just returned from a very relaxing 5 nights at this wonderful site. This was our second visit to Knaresborough site, our first back in September and I can’t rate this site highly enough. The wardens were really helpful especially Bobby who took time out to show me a couple of walking routes on my newly purchased map, recommending a very nice pub as a half way point 😊. The site is spotless as you would expect and the Wanderer bistro serves lovely food, we ate there twice. There are some really nice walks straight from the site both into Knaresborough and also to the stunning surrounding area and villages. We are already booked to return in July and have also booked for next year.
cannot fault this site first call staff nothing is too much trouble visited sunday to wednesday the site was quiet and well cared for the facilities were spotless everything about the site is 5 star
We have just had a wonderful week here! The site is lovely and clean and wardens were brilliant. The kids loved the bike and just cycling round the site. It was very quiet even though fully booked and had a lovely feel about the place. We felt we were in natures playground with the Nidd gorge a short walk away, we found rope swings, places for den building and skimming stones on our walk into knaresborough. In knaresborough we hired a row boat, had coffee by the Nidd and took the beryl burton cycle route back to camp. Within 20 minutes drive you can get to Brimham rocks and Fountains Abbey, both fabulous national trusts! There was so much to do around here we didn't get it all done, would definitely return. Thank you for a pleasant stay.
Very well run site and very friendly site staff. Nothing is too much trouble shame you can't say that about a lot of the other CMC sites. Toilets immaculate. Well run, well looked after and it tells.
this is the first time we have visited this site and we are going back again in August. it is not a very large site, but it has a very good dog walk, allowing the dogs to run off the lead, plus it has an on site restaurant. the food and service at the restaurant were second to none, no wonder you have to book, if you cannot get into the restaurant to eat they proved a very good take away service too. the site is clean and tidy and very peaceful. we were lucky with the weather as it was gloriously sunny so we could sit out most of the day. there were a few children about enjoying themselves on the park which was near us, but to be honest it was a pleasure to watch them having fun. the site is well situated for the Nidd Gorge, about a 3 minute drive, and the town of Knaresborough. it is a beautiful part of the country and we are very glad we have round ti.
Just love everything about this site. Friendly wardens who are always smiling. The site is clean and tidy and convenient for Knaresborough and surrounding areas. The wanderers bar and kitchen is a great addition with good food and a nice atmosphere. We always book to visit again before we leave.
