Shame about the Wanderer Bar being closed again when we visited. I really dont see the point of having the bar if the camc cant be bothered to man it.
The team are the best, really friendly and hell bent on doing a great job.
Yet another site with dated facilities.
Parfait
Excellent site
We’ve spent a great couple of nights on our way home from Scotland. A lovely campsite and some must do’s whilst you’re there!
1. Walk into Knaresbrough along the River Midd walk.
2. Dinner at Guy Fawkes pub in the village.
3. Bus to Ripon - fabulous drive through stunning villages and the city is lovely. We had a tour of the cathedral and the Workhouse and then a mooch about the city.
4. Fountain’s Abbey a nearby National Trust property and there is parking for Motorhomes there.

Excellent service
Excellent service on checking in, Friendly staff who were very helpful. The pitch was super, the only problem was that people would keep cutting through the gap in the hedge where the electricity bollard is, to get to the toilet block. One chap even tripped over our cable, I found it very annoying, my dogs really didn’t like it. Perhaps notices about not cutting through could be displayed.
The facilities were clean.
The Wanderer bar was very handy.
Overall a lovely quiet site.
I won't be booking a fully serviced pitch again.
We recently stayed on a fully serviced pitch, everything worked well but we had a couple of issues. We were on the inner ring of the fully serviced pitch oval and people were walking through the gap between our outfit and the adjacent outfit, including a warden, on numerous occasions. I should have challenged the warden and I wish I had now. We were also about 6 feet from the chemical disposal point and one considerate caravaner was clattering the spout of his cassette on the plastic funnel of the CDP, ( I know we've all done it), at 0650 hours on a Sunday morning, thanks mate.
You pay top money for a fully serviced pitch and you find yourself in an area including the dog walk, play area and you could be about 6 feet from the CDP. I should have looked at the site map online, and I definitely will in the future.
On a very positive note the site was clean, tidy and well maintained. There is a little bit of road noise, mainly motorbikes early morning and evening when the ambient noise is quiet, but is not too intrusive. We had a good meal at the Guy Fawkes Inn in Scotton. I will stay again but the fully serviced pitches in my opinion are not worth the extra money and I won't be booking one again.

A gateway to the lovely town of Knaresborough
Just back from a 3 day stay at the Knaresborough site and thoroughly enjoyed it. The park was emaculate and really well looked after. All the amenities were spot on and the bar was a very welcome place after a days walking. The site is very convenient for visiting Knaresborough town and all its got to offer. Will no doubt be returning for another visit at some time.
Lovely stay at Knaresborough
We received a very warm welcome from the warden and it was a quick process to choose our pitch. This is a lovely site with large pitches. It is peaceful and well looked after. There are two toilet blocks, one newer one attached to the cafe/bar and a larger, older one further on into the site. The older block is showing its age and could do with some refurbishment but it was very clean. It is good that they are not both cleaned at the same time. We did use the bar and it was nice to sit outside in the sunshine but the food menu is quite limited. It is a short walk to the nearest pub, The Guy Fawkes Arms, in Scotton which was very nice and serves good food.
We enjoyed walking along the River Nidd into Knaresborough - it is a very pleasant walk but beware there are a few inclines to navigate. We were hoping to be able to cycle into Knaresborough but the main road just outside the site was far too busy. The bus stop is literally right outside the site and we used the service to go into Knaresborough and then catch a train to Harrogate. Harrogate is a lovely place with some great shops and we enjoyed a lovely meal at La Feria, a Spanish tapas restaurant. Trains are very frequent to Harrogate and Leeds. All in all we we enjoyed our long weekend at this site.
Excellent Easter Break
A lovely Easter break at this spotlessly clean and tidy site. Pitches are an excellent size and well laid out. Great site to explore the surrounding area with very good transport links if you don’t want to use your car or take out your Motorhome. Efficient and pleasant welcome on arrival, we plan to visit again soon.
Liked it so much we booked to go back in autumn
Lovely site with good sized pitches.
We were warmly welcomed by the team.
2 toilet/shower blocks were clean and well maintained. It was good that they were not both closed at the same time for cleaning.
Small dog field on site, and lots of great walks in the area.
The site was rich with bird song, and we saw red kites too.
We loved it so much we have booked a return visit in autumn.
An excellent site
Fed up with the endless rain we looked for a site where we could be sure of good hardstandings and found Knaresborough Club Campsite. The welcome we were given on arrival was excellent and we continued on to spend a wonderful weekend exploring the area. The site is immaculate, wardens keeping it spotlessly clean and tidy. The cafe/ bar was a welcome addition, especially as dogs were allowed in.
The area has much to offer - we visited the stunning Fountains Abbey which offers numerous delightful walks and a fantastic dog friendly cafe.
Near to the site we explored the Nidd Gorge - a beautiful and well kept woodland walk by the river - very full due to the rain.
We will definitely be back and have plans to explore the Dales and Harrogate, plus more.
