Warm Welcome to a Lovely Site

We were made to feel very welcome on arrival and given information regarding the site and local area. All the pitches seemed to be of a good size, we were on a serviced-pitch which was useful but not essential as plenty of service areas around the site. The facilities were all immaculate and well cared for. We used The Wanderer for one evening, it was great to be able to walk for a drink and a bite to eat. We had a concert in Leeds to attend and we were able to get the train into the city and booked a taxi back, which helped us enjoy the event. We will definitely use this site again when we come back to the area again.

Good location

Had two nights here in June, sadly the weather was not brilliant but the site is well located for seeing the sights in the area. Facilities as you would expect from a CS site were impeccable, I had not realised until reading other reviews that the site has had a revamp, so as this was our first visit I cannot compare to how it was but we would certainly return here. Nice bonus of a restaurant and bar on site, especially as we are in a motorhome and only have the use of bicycles. Had hoped to do a lot more cycling but we did get to cycle into Ripley, on a cycle path that avoided the main road. My son visited us whilst on site, and the staff were helpful and accommodating to him parking up and staying with us for the night. We visit this area frequently as my husband comes from Yorkshire and would not hesitate to book this site again.

A great choice of walking or cycling as well as some lovely towns to enjoy.

The renovated site is a very nice place to stay. The improvements are all noticeable I especially liked the motorhome service point which is well sited. The Nidd valley and immediate location is very beautiful. The walk from the site into Knaresborough is well worthwhile. A great choice of walking or cycling as well as some lovely towns to enjoy. Easy access makes this a great site to visit. Hope you enjoy your break as much as we did.

Thank You Knaresborough

We have had a fantastic 6 nights at this gem of a site....my only fault was as we were on a fully serviced pitch and it did not have a booster TV facility therefore tv quality was poor at times. The wanderer dished up some amazing pub grub and the Black Sheep bitter is the best pint of bitter I have had in ages. Bus links from the site were very good giving easy access to York, Harrogate and Ripon, Knaresborough is a lovely town with two walks into the town both very easy..... See you again soon

Club site

Enjoyable 6 nights on this site. It is what you would expect from a club site spotless facilities friendly wardens & neatly spaced caravans/ motorhomes in rows . Views of neatly spaced caravans/ motorhomes. Bistro is a useful addition with the usual type of food well presented. Good area for visiting Knaresbrough Harrogate etc. Lovely pub down the road Guy Fawkes Arms .enjoyed a visit to Markenfield Manor near Ripon , it is only open certain times of year. I believe there are only 2 non awning pitches so if you like a choice may be best not to book these.

The new Knaresborough

First time we have been back since the makeover and what a good job they have done. The facilities are up to the clubs usual excellent standards and the restaurant serves very good food and drink. The wardens were as always very friendly and helpful especially as on this occasion our friends from Scotland on their first visit broke down. They reserved a pitch for them as they had to be towed in. .We will be back

Newbies

We christened our new MH at this site. Our first time out, we wanted somewhere not too far from home in case we had any major dramas. Thankfully everything went smoothly & we thoroughly enjoyed our two day stay at this excellent site. The staff were extremely friendly & helpful, nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The site is immaculate, from toilet blocks to the grounds, with staff members constantly busying themselves weeding, picking up dead leaves or just generally tidying up. Even when they were busy, they'd stop for a chat and to fuss our cockapoo. A gem of a site, which we will definitely be visiting again.

First visit but won’t be the last........

Been associated with the CC for over forty years and never previously stayed on this site. This has been our loss I might add. We have just returned from a 12 night stay and have very much enjoyed our time. This is a truly lovely area with so much to do and see. We were spoiled for choice of places to visit being both HHA and NT members. The site appears always busy and like Chatsworth needs to be booked well in advance. We didn’t eat in the onsite restaurant but did use the excellent Guy Fawkes pub in the village on three occasions. Excellent Yorkshire hospitality worthy of recommending. A really great site which.now discovered will be on our future radar.

Short Break

Just a 2 night stay but wish we could have stayed longer! Lovely well maintained site very peaceful and fantastic location with beautiful walk along the River Nidd to Knaresborough about 3 miles. Local pub The Guy Fawkes Inn is well worth a visit for food and excellent pint of Black Sheep!
