Very Pleasant stay with the excellent Bristo now open also

Stayed at the club site at Knaresborough and had a very pleasant stay, many thanks to the site wardens who were very helpful and all the staff in the Bistro who provided a warm welcome and excellent food made with food supplied locally. I wish the new Wanderer Bisto all the success, we were very happy customers.

Lovely Site with great Facilities

If you are looking for a nice relaxing stay then the club site at Knaresborough is second to none. Conveniently situated off the A59 and A61 there is good access to the local town and also Ripon, Harrogate and a little further York. This was my first but won't be my last stay here! There is good separation between pitches with small beech hedges and the woodland behind is teeming with Birds twittering and signing all day. Lovely escape from out house. The facilities available are great, but unfortunately due to covid regs, the Wanderer Bistro was still shut. Had a look and it really looks nice so we will be back again.

Let down by the site staff

Of course, with the current restrictions, I'm happy to follow all the extra signs to keep everyone safe. As these change from site to site, I know this sometimes makes life more complicated. That isn't any excuse for the site staff to scowl at us and to be unbelievably rude just because their instructions are contradictory and inaccurate. On both occasions we tried to book in, the office was deserted, and there was just a misleading notice telling us to wait. When we finally did track someone down, we were blamed for the way the site was operated.

Lovely well organised site

First visit to this site and it was lovely and quiet. Checkin was really well organised. Very friendly. Everything we needed to know was in the pack we were given. Wristbands for toilet blocks is a very simple but good idea, we had no issues and it seemed to be adhered to whilst we were onsite. Really enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

First visit - fantastic

Have been wanting to visit for quite sometime but can never find availability. luckily managed it this time and was not disappointed, lovely site, short walk to local pub and easy reach of Knaresborough. As covid safe as they can be as long as guests follow the rules, onsite restaurant not open but can get takeaway, had a lovely Sunday lunch. Staff very friendly and will definitely return.

Lovely site

Enjoyed our 2 nights at Knaresborough. Check in was safe and efficient and the staff were friendly and helpful. Pitches are large and access easy. We chose to use our facilities as we find this easier due to Covid restrictions but would expect the usual high standard. The bistro was only operating a take away service but we had one and it was excellent, the home cooked chips were fantastic and it is great having such a service on site. The local pub in the village is only a short walk away and very good, we only had a drink but the black sheep was well kept. We look forward to our next visit.

Great Location

Firstly, before I write my review, Im uneased and concerned after reading those complaining about the toilet and shower facilities or the lack of them. Do these people not understand as a business the club has a responsibility as a business and to adhere too the goverment guidelines during this pandemic for your safety and theirs for that matter. I find one review in particular quite alarming and disgusting calling other fellow caravanners "Vinegar Veras" and barging in a toilet block when it was already occupied, rules state 2 per block, some obviously dont give a damn and here we are now covid levels on the rise again because of these covidiots. If you dont have the facilities in whatever your rocking up in at the site, then dont bother turning and then complain as every site has restrictions at this time, . Doh!! Now Ive got that off my chest, the Knarsborough site is a "Gem" and well located a mile just outside the town with a restaurant and bar on site, although currently offering takeaway only at this time. I like to thank Jean for her help is securing out extended stay, she was a STAR!! Id thoroughly would recommend this site

Wonderful Stay

We loved this site and stayed 10 nights. Very friendly wardens and we had had no problem with the shared facilities. I never had to queue to use them. The band system worked well and we felt that the Covid precautions were very well implemented. There are lovely walks from the site along the river to Knaresborough, Harrogate and Ripley Castle. The takeaways from the Bisto were excellent and very handy at the end of a long day site seeing. RHS Harlow Carr is close and we had a wonderful day there. The village pub is only a short walk away and we had 2 very good meals there - a bit more expensive than most pubs but we thought well worth it..

Disappointing Yorkshire Trip

Being familiar with Yorkshire we thought this site would be perfect to place ourselves to help out family that have just moved to Harrogate, and it was, but that is where the positive starts and finishes. The site whilst set out well and maintained very well it is very dull, no views and frankly sitting looking at other people’s Motorhomes is not what we enjoy about being away in our van. For a site of this size to only have two showers/toilets open is frankly awful. Queuing for the loo and showers has ruined our trip, so much so we have booked a last night into anther location in order to not have to pre plan a trip to the toilet! Again, having stayed on other sites where all the facilities are open and just reminding people to be careful works much better; the club needs to more on from the bands, it is not working!

Ladies Facilities

Lovely site in a pleasant area. I realise that due to the current situation things are difficult but my comment and complaint is a specific one. I am over 70 years and have mobility issues so using the shower presented difficulties for me as there is no bench seat and no handles in the shower cubicles. I am sure this will affect others like me. It would be good to remedy this.
