Hidden gem

We purely picked this site as we were en route back home on a quick whistle stop trip round Scotland and in early April there was very little other choice but wow how pleased we were that we did. I am not a fan of large 'commercial' sites but this one was so well laid out and with such friendly and helpful wardens it did not feel large or commercial. The village has everything you need with small spar shop, post office, garage and shop, two excellent eateries and scenery to die for. Lovely walks, easy and hard, almost straight off the site with plenty of wildlife to see. Our one night stop turned into two as there was so much to do and see in this area. Wonderful site and we will back again next year and this time for longer.

First visit to ki lochewe

First visit to this area.  Very good site In terms of lovely scenery.  Plenty nice drives from the site but beware petrol station next door is very rarely open.  Toilet block is very clean and drying room is a welcome addition.  Nicely laid out site.  Wardens are friendly however when we arrived it was relief wardens who did not give us any information and reception was hardly ever open to get information.  Resident site wardens arrived back the day we were leaving and were helpful and friendly with lots of information.  On our days out we discovered lots of great roads to explore to hunt for the wildlife.  We will definitely return.

A wonderful place!

This was our first stay at a club site and was simply delightful. A wonderful welcome, even although we later found we had arrived at lunchtime. The site is well laid out and facilities are spotlessly clean and little touches such as short hoses on taps to help make necessary tasks so quick and easy for even first time caravaners like us made our stay a delight. The wardens are so knowledgeable and friendly and have thought of so many ways to make this a very special place such as the information hut and drying room we could not have wished for a better start to our adventures. We will definitely be going back soon.

Fantastic Site

This is certainly one of my most favourite sites. The view of the snow capped Beinn Eighe Mountain from our caravan window was beautiful. The site is spacious with great hardstandings and lovely clean warm shower facilities. The drying room for boots and coats is a great addition although we only used it once as we had a week of perfect weather with no midges at this time of year. It is very peaceful and quiet with lots of beautiful walks nearby and easy to travel out to visit places further afield (don't miss the breathtaking Cattle Pass on the road to Applecross voted one of the world's greatest car journeys by National Geographic 2012). There is lots of wildlife here too and we saw Golden Eagles, deer, a wild cat and dolphins on our days out. The wardens are very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. I would really recommend this fantastic site and I will hopefully be back to visit soon.

One of our favourite sites

Have just spent another peaceful week at this site. We had a very warm welcome from the new wardens and Beth their dog. A major update to the tv signal, it is now digital and you get 5 channels and a good quality picture. However there were a few teething problems but hopefully they will be sorted. Two Lochs radio is a great wee radio station with all your weather info for any walking you may do in the area (and there are plenty of walks for all abilities) . No midges at this time of the year which was another bonus.

First time on a caravan club site (as a member).

Having been on other cc sites, this was an excellent experience. The staff were really friendly and looked the part in cc uniform. The toilets were the best I can remember visiting. The wee information hut is the business. We WILL be back .....

September Foray

Excellent site and helpful, friendly staff. Shop, fuel station, cafes and hotel all within walking distance from the site. Plenty of 'walks' from the site and also fishing. If any down side is TV reception and only analogue TV at bollard hook-up (needs to be digital, c,mon we are in 21st century).

Highland Tour 2015

This is the second time we've been to this site. the location is an ideal stop over while touring the west highlands. Negative comments on the site :- there can be vehicle noise from  the road. T V reception was a problem on the site. We would definitely recommend the quiet, clean restful site and we will return. As per the norm the staff were excellent

Held Hostage by the highland Midges !! :)

Lovely site , friendly wardens , clean showers , toilets ect . A very peaceful site , however we found the dog walk on site to small . We were not prepared for the Midges which seemed to swarm in their millions at various times of the day , making the whole experience very uncomfortable , we were held in our van like hostages by the little beggars. That said we would go again for a stop over if passing the same area .

Lovely! ( Appart from the midges!)

Had a lovely six nights with great  weather, which unfortunately brought the midges out, apparently they have been worse than ever this year and also lasted longer, still finding the little blighters stuck in and on the van! We definately needed the midge nets we bought. The site is in a super location for walking etc, with stunning views. Wardens very friendly and the site kept spotless. Most things can be purchased from either the garage or PO. Didn't eat out but the cafe round the corner from the campsite seems very popular and you have to book for the evenings, especially if you have a dog, they only have one dog table. Love that area of Scotland and I am sure we will return to Kinlochewe but not in the midge season!
