fantastic site, quiet, peaceful, clean and specutalar scernay it felt like another world away from the rat race. Shame about the midges. Will be back
Super Site
Agree with previous reviews. We stayed for 2 nights in mid May, excellent location, great for walking and climbing, well run and friendly wardens.

A great place for an overnight stop
A site set in magnificent surroundings with lovely walks on the doorstep.
We were surprised that the reception was shut between 12noon and 4pm when people flooded in without reference to bookings. The wardens had certainly made an error on such a busy weekend; I think they got away with it!

Excellent site
I have to say the wardens on this site were the best I have encountered, very accomadating and so friendly. The site itself is very well run in a great location with access to some excellent mountains and beaches with a pub that serves excellent food within five minutes walk. Access to the site from the Inverness road is fine with adjoining roads fine. Can't wait to go back.
The most beautiful setting
We loved this site so much we stayed twice during our recent touring holiday in Scotland. Everything about this site is great; the adjacent Beinne Eighe nature reserve is fantastic for safe dog walking with no livestock (important in lambing season). The wardens are very friendly and helpful. Although peaceful and 'away from it all' the small village has a very useful small general shop/post office, a cafe and hotel with a good bar/restaurant serving excellent food. Thoroughly recommended.
Boiler failure left us disappointed
For two of the four days we were on site, there was no adequate hot water in the shower block because the boilers had failed. Otherwise, I'd give the site 5 stars.
Site is easy to find, on good roads. Layout is a bit drab despite presence of silver birches. It is all hard standing and flat. The views up to Benn Nighe are stunning. It is a paradise for twitchers, walkers and photographers. There are several scenic drives for those who want to wander further.
MSVP is within a large open space and has a grid over the drain rather than a heavy cover.
Local cafe on the Torridon road [within easy walking distance] is good but a little pricey. Supermarkets are miles away but there is a fuel station and shop.
Avoid the midge season.
Beautiful site
A beautiful little site in an amazing location. Warden couldn't be more helpful. Told us about local amenities, shops. dogs friendly pub in the hotel, fuel from the next door garage and, because we had dogs, told us about the local walks, how long they would take to complete and what we might see when we were out. The forest is on your doorstep and the local visor centre a mile and a half from the site. You can watch the squirrels and birds from the hides as the centre and enjoy the peace and quiet of either a lowland or slightly more testing hill walk. With a hotel just across the road from the site, you don't even have to cook. The food was delicious. All the amenities you expect from a CC site and the site itself was immaculately kept. We will be back.
Snow visit!
Arrived at Kinlochewe after experiencing the drive to Applecross in wintry conditions, not dangerous but very picturesque. The remainder of the coastal run from Applecross to Kinlochewe is also worth doing, not so many steep bits! The site was excellent, nice wardens, nice facilities, everything as you would expect.
