still a great site

returned to this site after many year .this was the second site we used when we started caravanning over 30 years ago.we went many times with our children leaving the caravan for my parents and my wife s parents they used to have about eight weeks each at different times of the year. Our last trip was with our granddaughters one eight one five they loved the site and made friends instantly. As soon as we booked in the warden gave the two of them a treasure hunt which gave us all a chance to look around the site.the wardens on site where wonderful.giving us lots of information for things to do with the children .The only thing would say is when you take children to a lot of sites the play equipment is a little dated and in some cases don't cater for the slightly older ones unfortunately it seems to be the sites in our area ,the north west and cumbria.

Great staff, great site and very pleased apart from the hard standing.

First impressions are always important and the site staff ensured our impression was very positive. The cleanliness of the facilities and the well maintained site also helped with our forming a positive impression. Overall, we were delighted with our stay and will definitely return. One downside and that is the almost concrete like nature of the hard standing: rock pegs are essential.

perfect site ruined by inconsiderate caravan next door

We have been coming to Kendal for the last three years and call it our wind down site. It is not a long trip for us and usually as soon as we roll up to the office feel the stresses of every day dropping off. So we had booked a mid week break with the view to do just that. When we got to site we found a pitch and set up the caravan. While setting up we parked the car on the section for the awning as easier to unload the car. Once level and all services on stopped to have a cup of tea. It was then that we noticed the caravan next door had set up their caravan on the skew (not at 90 degrees to the peg). They then set up their awning, but that resulted in us not being able to move the car around to the correct location to park, this meant that we could not put our awning up. Then once he had set up his awning he put his music on, and he started talking to his wife, very loudly. this was the same for the evenings as well. As a result we did not have the relaxing break we planned for. We did mention it to the wardens but they though the caravan was OK and we could park the car further down. I think if the car had been there it might have helped to block out some of the noise.

Kendal weekend

We have not been caravaning long and have only visited 1 site in the past just to get a feel for the experience. so we decided to give Kendal a go the reviews where good. we arrived looking forward to our new experience and to our delight it did not let us down. we where lucky to have picked a weekend where the sun shone all of our stay the trees had not yet started to leaf but the site was still lovely cant wait to see it in the summer. the staff are very helpful and the site is immaculate as are the facilities. we had such a great time we have booked to go for a week prior to Easter(only because its full or we would have done the Easter weekend as well. and we cant wait. if you have never visited Kendal caravan site i fully recommend you do its great and so close to the main lakes all in all i gave kendal top scores

Fab

Great location. After arrival we didn't need to use the car throughout our 4 day stay as we were able to find lovely walks directly from the site. Luckily the weather was beautiful for late March and walking into Kendal along the river was a lovely spring experience to see the new born lambs and daffodils. Plenty of space on site to pitch. Easy to get to from the motorway. We will be back. Thank you to friendly, helpful staff.

New members first club site visit.

Apart from staying on a club cl site this was our first club site since joining and what a great choice we made. How refreshing to be allowed to choose a pitch. After being greeted by friendly and helpful staff we selected a pitch. The facilities are first class, the location excellent with plenty of walks from the site. We walked along the river one day to Kendal and returned by bus. We only stayed four nights, but before we left we had a good look round the site, made a note of quite a few pitches for our next visit.

more please!

just returned from the opening weekend and even though it rained continuously for the entire time we were there, I can honestly say we had a fantastic time. Its not your normal club site. All pitches are in little enclaves and there are numerous cul de sacs that fit just one outfit-all under the canopy of national trust woodland. Amongst the park you will find the ruins of the old gunpowder works.A stream runs through some areas of the park and the river Kent runs parallel.I would have taken the opportunity to take a stroll by the river but it was torrential. Will save this for next visit .At tea time each evening an amazing spectacle took place .Hundreds of crows flocked towards a range of trees behind reception. My family and I stood under their flight path and gazed in wonder.Facilities are of a standard you expect from the Club.Stewards are friendly and helpful.Well situated for local attractions. Please take note it is single track access to the site.Cant wait to return

Fabulous site

We had our maiden voyage at this amazing site. So beautiful and wooded. Great walks near by. Staff were amazing and helpful. A visit to the nearby STRICKLAND ARMS is a must for a good meal and a pint.

A different sort of site.

Probably the closest you'll find to a Canadian style 'backwoods' campsite in the UK! None the worse for it, but very different to most Caravan Club sites. We arrived over Halloween weekend, and the site was given over to ensuring kids of all ages (even those on a pension!) had a good time. The place was packed, but you could still enjoy some peace and quiet once the ghouls and ghosties had headed off to bed. Absolute top marks to the wardens, who went out of their way to ensure we had a pitch available to us in York for the following night on an exceptionally busy weekend. Cannot thank them enough. Well worth a visit if you fancy a different sort of site............and love trees!! John & Sharon K.
