Inconsiderate members

Stayed 11 nights this time but have been visiting this site for about 30 years, wardens friendly and helpful facilities lovely and clean. The only thing that spoilt a few days were noisey members who seemed to think they were the only people around,  parents need to control their children as not everyone wants to hear them, plus members arriving from 11 o'clock not just an odd one but quite a few every day, this is not fair on the wardens or other members who stick to the rule of 1 pm. We love the woods but have had many members say too many trees, it was called Low Park Wood for a reason. Have booked to visit again soon as we love the tranquility of this site.

Positive experience,

Thanks to all staff involved in making our stay a positive one. Staff very informative, facilities maintained and cleaned regular. My husband and I are just returning to touring, after having a short time away, it helps when you visit a park and you are treated well, we found we were both relaxed from point of arriving, as for local walks which we both enjoy, there are enough around. Pleasant walk into Kendal! Recommended!

life saver

Beautiful site, clean and peaceful. Excellent Wardens. Polite, courteous and very professional. stopped there on the way up to scotland. was going to drive from scotland to the midlands in one day but after driving from mull to kendal to was to much to carry on and it was 5.p.m. so we rang the site and the warden waited for us to get there (6.p.m) and find us a pitch for the night. thank you very much.

Can't see any reason to return to this site

This was our first visit to Kendal Caravan Club Site. The approach road is signposted when leaving the main road but after that there is a distinct shortage of signage. Just before reaching the site there is a fork in the road and it is very easy to bear left and take the wrong road. Surely the Club should erect a sign to show the way as not everyone is confident about reversing with a Caravan along a narrow lane. The site is surrounded by lots and lots of trees and if you like to see the sky you will be disappointed. When we were there it was impossible to get a pitch that was not under the trees and when it rained (not the fault of the club) it was like the proverbial water torture. The site is laid out over several different levels which is interesting but the track through the site is not intuitive and the site map as provided upon arrival, is not very accurate. There are lots of remains of what was apparently a Gunpowder mill and it is interesting to view them. The site is fairly large and when we were there (Early September 2016) there was not a lot of empty pitches so it is obviously a popular place. We didn’t think that all the pitches were very large although some pitches were a lot bigger than others. Despite the site being set in National Trust woodland there did not appear to be any grass present. There is a track and lots of gravel but the place is not attractive. We found the whole experience very claustrophobic and oppressive and will not be going back.

wifi issues

excellent site. Been before and always a quiet clean site. Only issue on this visit we paid to use the wifi facility for the week. It was only available the first and last day. Not entirely the clubs fault as someone had reversed over the power bollard killing it! This left 4 pitches unusable and as that Bollard fed the wifi transmitter--No wifi. Would recommend the site for members visiting all areas of the lakes.

Dog walking at Kendal

Just returned from a break here with two border collies. What a fantastic site for the dogs. Brilliant dog walks loads of room in the woodlands. Good walks in the area especially to Kendal along the river. Site staff were great as usual. The site as on previous reviews is quite dark and very dark in places but take a torch and no problems. Highly recommended for dog owners. Good base for triping around the lakes. Will be returning.

Fabulous Service and support

The location was beautiful and perfect for walkers. The wardens were fantastic and waited for us to arrive after we experienced delays on our way. They were conscious that we had children and wanted to make sure we got settled... this made the world of difference to us. Shop was great and pitch size was perfect. The only downside for us was that its a busy and hilly site so wasnt great for the kids who wanted to be out on their bikes and scooters. Did have a nice play area but was unsuitable for letting kids out on bikes ( 8 years old so not old enough to be out of site but old enough to play out.) Cant rate the warden help and managemeny of the site highly enough. Clearly take lots of pride in their jobs!!!
