This site proved a convenient stop on our way to Scotland. Peaceful and yet not too far from anywhere.
Superb site and staff
Our first visit for years but we will certainly be back soon! Fastideously kept site and you can eat from the toilet floors (if you're strange). The present Wardens, Ann & Gary, and all their colleagues, can't do enough to help. They are cheery and always have a smile. This goes a long way! Thankyou to all concerned.
Beautiful bluebells
Perfect time of year to see the bluebells, wood anemone, and wild garlic - absolutely gorgeous. Pitches nicely scattered throughout woodland, alongside clear river. Birds galore. Despite the long drive, tempted to come back next weekend!
Fabulous site
Just come back from this glorious site, so peaceful! Lots of walks from the site. Lots of rambles through the woods, and there was a farm trail too. Very interesting site with lots of history. Birds were amazing, take your bird feeders! Dogs loved the river, they loved all of it actually. The children seemed very happy as well, no where near the road, but there is slight noise from the dual carriage way, but not annoying. Well run, very tidy, loved the different little sections, they should have names, like the Borrowdale site. Fish and chips on Friday were delicious too. Great holiday.

Lovely Site
Had a lovely stay over the Easter weekend. The staff were helpful and very welcoming. Set in beautiful surroundings and in a great spot for exploring the area. Great facilities only marred by the fact they close at 10:15 for cleaning, which is far too early when you are on holiday it's bad enough watching the clock when you have to get going for work. Come on Kendal Site I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to close for cleaning a little later.
3 night break
booked this site for closeness to kendal on 18/04/17 for 3 nights. arrived 1pm . good parking area while registering. allowed to choose any pitch with white marker (with awning). didn't realize I was supposed to report back with pitch number to receive barrier key. set off to explore with my dog. amazing walks along river and through woods. different one every day. site staff very helpful and had printed directions to walk to kendal across paths and fields (unfortunately due to bad weather I didn't on this occasion). Toilet blocks spotless. water tap area also has waste water and chemical point situated round the site to save travelling down to toilet blocks. good idea. small shop for basics. would be good idea if they had small coffee shop to sit outside (picnic tables in evidence). Overall a good site for peace & quiet. Dog owners very well behaved too. would definitely book this site again.
2 nights stay in Motorhome
Stayed 2 days before Easter. Great site , very clean , loads of dog walks . Will definitely be returning . Loved it

Easter Break - excellent site & facilities. Great wardens
We came to Kendal for the Easter Break as Coniston Park Coppice was full. What a good decision. Kendal is perfectly positioned just off the M6/A591 so easy to get to. We were given a very warm welcome on arrival & found a lovely flat pitch near the river. Some of the pitch areas are open while others are more tree covered - the choice is yours. We had a few problems getting our gas connected but Gary was on hand to give us advice. The facilities are all very clean & the whole site is very tidy & lots of wild flowers around. There are details on walks in reception that you can buy as well as free instructions on walking to Kendal & cycling to Grange. There's also an information room with DVDs etc. The site is on the edge of the Low Sizergh Farm trail so we had a lovely walk up to the cafe and shop at the Barn. It's about a 20 minute walk to The Strickland Arms which has some very good beers. If you want to eat you should book in advance as it was always very busy. We had a lovely walk along the old Kendal to Lancaster canal and to Levens Hall via the deer park where we were lucky enough to see lots of deer but none of the Bagot goats that are also meant to be there. All in all we had a lovely visit to a lovely peaceful site. Yes, there is some road noise but the bird noise overcomes this. All of the wardens were really helpful. It was great to be able to order a newspaper each day too.
lovely riverside walk and wild flowers.
I arrived slightly early because it was so easy to find. Staff I came into contact were lovely. The only problem I had was after reading about the site, perusing the photos, I was shocked at how hilly it is. Being disabled it would have been a good thing to have known how steep it is. I saw disabled people really struggling, one elderly lady pushing a wheelchair was quite upsetting to witness. Maybe I just chose the wrong pitch but I did go around three times ! Some road noise even through the night. My plus points were the toilets were spotless and the wild flowers were lovely. If only it was less hilly !
