Won’t be back.

We arrived later than expected and perhaps that’s why we got a horrid site at junction of 3 roads. As is usual with this Club one is told where there are spaces but by the time you get there it has been taken. Very difficult site to drive around, tracks going every which way. Was pleased we had only booked for one night. Will definitely not stay here again.

excellent site

This was our first time with a motorhome and we couldn't have chosen a better site to start with. It was as if someone had taken my wish list and turned it into a camp site. From the lovely woodland approach, to the tranquil , small cluster's of pitches it was perfect. The toilet and showers blocks are 2nd to none, they are so clean you could eat your food in them. Perfect for dog walking, the staff were so friendly and helpful, The only downside is, it has spoilt us for any other site lol, We will defiantly be returning soon, in fact we didn't want to leave.

Our 'go to' favourite

Love this site, friendly wardens who work continuously to maintain a wonderful site which is only 30 minutes from home for us! We're always greeted like old friends which is much appreciated when arriving after a hard week at work. Pitches are great and you can choose to be in a small 'close' of vans or separate. The facilities are always immaculate. Wildlife on and around site is great. The club reception sells the basic essentials such as ice for the gin... the things you've forgotten to pack and breakfast supplies. There is Sizergh Barn close by which sells local produce, the Strickland Arms for excellent home cooked food (and discount with your CAMC membership card). Great riverside walk into Kendal. Looking forward to our next visit!!!!

Peaceful

Booked a three night stay and we decided we wanted to arrive a day earlier and it wasn’t a problem the wardens are extremely friendly and helpful they spend a lot of time going around the site checking everything is up to a high standard. it’s full of wildlife and streams which run through the site, the sound of a running stream while sitting out with a cuppa is beautiful. It’s absolutely perfect for dogs. You don’t have to drive anywhere if you want somewhere to walk it’s on your doorstep. The toilet facilities were Immaculate and there’s plenty WD’s dotted around the site. This was our first stay and it won’t be the last.

Peaceful Stay

Stayed here for 3 nights on our way back home to Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿.Very easy access from the M6 if you follow the route recommendation from the club. We arrived and were greeted by the very very friendly staff and soon began to choose our pitch. The pitches are set in Woodlands and they are very large the facilities were spotless and the overall experience was a credit to the Clubs Wardens. My only complaint was the very poor tv signal despite having a tv hook up connection on the pitch otherwise the stay was excellent

Lovely - but other guest causes despair!!

Had a lovely peaceful stay with family over the weekend and cannot fault site or staff and would thoroughly recommend it. Only issue was another guest's behaviour. The washing facilities were well maintained, but on one occasion was marred by the irresponsible guest who decided to wash their dog in the baby and toddler washroom. When my daughter took my 2 year old grandchild to bath him the room (first one you pass on entry ) had been left in an absolutely filthy state by someone who had clearly been using the facility to wash their dog. It is not a case of cleaning it after use, but you should not be using it in the first place. I know some people treat dogs like their babies, but this is ridiculous and thoroughly unhygienic. It is something I will be monitoring in the future and will not hesitate to challenge anyone who decides to be so stupid and disrespectful.

Lovely two weeks exploring the Lake District

We arrived to a very friendly welcome from the wardens, we paid and took our instructions to drive around and select a pitch. We were lucky to find pitch 21 was available, and thoroughly enjoyed our own ‘private’ glad for two weeks. There are two facility blocks, cleaned daily and at different times, so there is always one block available for use. The on-site shop stocks a range of food items, including all important ice creams on the hottest day in the UK. The NT woodland provided ‘on our doorstep’ daily dog walks, including to the local farm shop (with a cafe and sells a range of produce, including: fruit, vegetables, meat, cheese, bread and deli items). Or an extended walk up the River Kent to Hawes Lane Bridge, returning on the other side of the river and crossing back across the footbridge. We also enjoyed a longer day walk into Kendal and back, with a lunch stop at a pub in Kendal. We ventured further afield to explore Tarn Hows, Grizedale Forest, Arnside, Ennerdale Water and Ulverston Canal. We thoroughly enjoyed our first stay on a full club site, and would recommend this great site with friendly wardens. We are looking forward to our next club site stay. PS we were not staying with children so our star rating against ‘good for families’ is a bit of a guess (a ‘Not Applicable’ option needs to be provided).

The most beautiful site anywhere, PROVIDED you like woodland.

This lovely site is based around the historic ruins of the New Sedgwick Gunpowder works. It comprises a series of woodland glades on a hillside above the river Kent. You can rarely see more than about five other outfits. As others have said the approach is narrow and some pitches require above average manouvering skills but there are also plenty of straightforward ones, including a large flat area if you have a really large outfit. The site was unusually quiet last week giving plenty of choice of pitch. It is heavily wooded with lots of undergrowth and the birds, hedgehogs, rabbits, etc that this environment encourages. The facilities are immaculately clean and well maintained, and the wardens this year are some of the most friendly and helpful I've met in my many years of using Low Park Wood, (Kendal).
