Fantastic site

The wardens work hard. The grass and flowers are lovely. A gated dog walk area with bin is great for our dog. The site is near to Woolacomb beach which is dog friendly. The only noise is some barking dogs in a neighbouring field occasionally while we were there.

Dogs

Third visit here and the facilities are always clean and tidy and well kept by the wardens. We probably won't stay again because each time we do we hoped that the smallholding about quarter of a mile down the road would have done something to keep their dogs from continuous barking, not the dogs fault because they are left alone most of the time and are probably bored. I could easily pick out at least half a dozen, one of which has a high pitched yelp, needless to say dogs barking is one of my pet hates, excuse the pun!. It's a pity because everything we want is in the direct area so it seems Willingcott or Damage Barton will now be our choice. My comments are not in any way a criticism of the site or in the way it is run, just a personal observation, rant over, cheers.

We love this site.

We love this site (normally come outside of school time) but it's not bad. Nice to see children playing outside. Handy for many places, it's quiet and very clean and well kept. We have thought about leaving our van on a seasonal pitch but have always wondered about security as there are no barriers to access the site. In a previous review we see caravans did get broken into. It's a shame as I am sure more people would take advantage and leave there caravans.

Good for Kids

This is a lovely site very helpful Wardens. Excellent site for Kids. Would love to visit this site when the schools are back. We are two adults and three dogs. Lots of kids having fun on scooter and bikes and for some reason had to keep stopping outside our caravan which started our dogs barking. (This was a pain).

Lovely site

A very warm welcome and a level pitch in the second field, furthest from the entrance. The site is elevated and although there were no views from the pitch, it is an open site and at the time we stayed, was not busy. A well laid out dog walking area and the usual waste and rubbish disposal areas all kept clean and tidy. The wardens clearly work hard to keep the site looking good, with well cut grass etc. There are no loos or showers on site, but it is actually quite pleasant to use the on board facilities in the motorhome for a change! We will stay here again.

Caravan broken into on Seasonal Pitch and Gas tanks stolen

We visited the site a couple of weeks ago and liked it so much that we decided to apply for a seasonal pitch. The Wardens are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. We like the location as it is near Ilfracombe and it is peaceful and quite. Lots of Rabbits. However we have had a phone call from the Warden to let us know that a couple of Caravans included ours were broken into in the early hours of Monday morning and our gas tanks stolen. So beware. We are gutted and we are due to start a 12 day holiday at the site on Wednesday. Now we have to sort this out. Not sure what damage has been done to the front panel, as it was locked before we left last weekend. So have to ring the site this morning for the crime reference no. then the caravan club, and then the insurance co. It is for the reason I have given the site a 3 star rating, otherwise it would have been a 5 star.

excelent

This is our favorite club site. We have been coming here for a good 10 years and enjoy it each time. Quite handy for the beach at woolacombe and of course Ilfracombe. The price has crept up a bit in recent years but still well worth it. Cant give 5* for facilities as there arnt really any apart from water and toilet disposal but cleanliness and wardens are second to none.Hope to be back again soon.

A Gem of a Site

We have visited this site numerous times over the years, which we find perfect for our type of caravanning which is we like the site which has views, piece and quite, and we only require electric water. This year we have visited 3 times because the area is beautiful with the roads not too busy. The site has been looked after by 2 great wardens who take pride in their site and look after the visitors. Its all grass which is cut to a very good length. In the village there is a very good community shop and the Crown pub does excellent food Sunday lunch is like home cooked and take some beatingĀ

An excellent site

Just got home having spent 4 nights here, wish we had been able to spend longer. An ideal spot which is well situated to explore the area. the site was not particularly busy, even in August meaning we had plenty of space and didn't feel squashed in as you do on some sites. I guess the lack of toilet facilities on this site is the big bonus which puts a lot of people off but keeps the site perfect. The wardens work very hard to keep the site immaculate which is a real credit to their hard work. We were due to arrive on their day off so they took the time to phone us the previous day, explaining that it was there day off, what we should do when we arrived and to call in the office the day after to settle up. They were very helpful when we spoke to them. Looking forward to visiting again.

Really good site

Really excellent site and really bargain price. Enjoyed watching the birds swooping over the spacious site. Wardens worked hard to keep things looking lovely. Lovely views and close to some good beaches. Will be back next year.
