Central location

Lovely site, friendly wardens and a good location for exploring the area. Only negative poor dog walking area and offsite lane unsuitable.

Disappointing stay.

We have been to this site several times normally using it as a stopover when heading south. This time we arrived Friday at 4pm and had no choice of pitch, we we’re put on a grass pitch which was tucked behind the hard standings. In my view it shouldn’t even be a pitch. It was by a noisy drain manhole. It felt like you were overlooking everyone else. Once the awning was up we were fairly close to other units. Bearing in mind I’d booked this last year the pitch was more like something you would except if you were desperate to stay on for an extra night or something. The neighbouring site was noisy during the day. Admittedly not the clubs fault and all was quiet by bedtime. Used the toilet facilities on the Friday evening and thought they weren’t very clean. Button for the flush had the top missing. Mark’s all up the back of the door. Floor dirty. By Saturday they were even worse. First toilet had no paper then no soap in the dispenser to wash your hands with! Spiders everywhere! Ok the windows are open because of the COVID but there were cobwebs and spiders all over them in the cubicle I used. If I was new to the club I’d have been very disappointed with the whole experience. We had just had 6 nights on one of the clubs affiliated sites and it was spotless so it is possible!

Peaceful

Unlike the previous reviewer we were amazed at how peaceful the site is. We are on pitch 8 and yes there are static caravans behind us but didn’t hear a sound from them. Crows were far more noisy:-)) Yes the town is run down like many other seaside towns but the nearby Berrow beach is stunning and very safe if you have children. Spent the day in Weston- usual seaside attractions except the sea had done a disappearing act..so far out you couldn’t see it. Facilities a little dated but clean, wardens friendly, overall pleasant stay helped by very hot weather.

VERY NOISY SITE

Very nice site wardens approachable and friendly. Well maintained pitches. No shop and nothing local. Nearest town very run down. Dog walk ridiculously small. Main gripe, before booking this site be aware that it is surrounded by holiday camps with no consideration to their neighbours. The noise is dreadful day and evening and into the night. We are unable to sit out at night as the noise from the adjacent holiday establishment is horrendous.

Great family site

Stayed here for 2 weeks August 2021. Lovely large site, which we prefer. Approach road is a little narrow but we had no issues getting caravan to and from site. We had a fully serviced pitch which was perfect. By the hedges next to another site, but heard no noise. Quite a way away from the play area, so heard very little noise (grass pitches by the play area got very busy and loud as kids had their fun till about 10pm). Another bonus is an enclosed ball cage next to the playarea so great for older kids. Facilties excellent, as always. Very clean and showers hot etc. No shop onsite but my son found some friends and they cycled to the site next door which has a fully stocked shop. We visisted Weston Suoer Mare a few times - excellent restaurants (we had a great Japanese and Greek) and the pier at Weston is lovely with an indoor funfair at the end. Beach gorgeous and by the main car opark by Weatherspoons pub (also recommended) theres an open air free splash park. Down the road from the site is a great little animal farm which we spent most of the day at and the waterpark by the main funfair is well worth a visit (currently 90min with online booking). Golf club and country club by the site is definately worth a visit - we had afternoon tea there and so impressed we booked again for evening meal next day. Brean is a bit rundown and not worth a day out. Overall, a great site and we'd come back!

Pitches 94/95

Good stopover site on route to Cornwall.Well maintained clean site. Pitches 94/95 should be removed they are either side of gate to 5 a side football pitch only protection is wire fence which provides no sound proofing or protection from balls not blaming the kids they need somewhere to play put I lost count of the balls landing on our pitch luckily no damage to Motorhome but wondering what would have happened if there had been.?Also dog walking area on site is 3m x 6m not enough room to swing a cat

Good site.

Stayed two nights in our motorhome, the staff were friendly, efficient and welcoming and as expected of a club site the standard of cleanliness and condition of the grounds were high. Access was straightforward, the beach was a pleasant 15 min walk and the local area was good for cycling (website has 10 mile suggested route). Brean Down is well worth a visit and there is parking on the beach there although a (long) walk from site is possible. We like quiet sites and expected this one to be a bit noisy as we could see from the map what was nearby but it was fine.

Poor stopover

Had a very hostile welcome from the warden. Had van in wrong lane on approach to barrier, unfortunately another vehicle pulled up behind me so I had nowhere to go. Still no need for warden to be so rude. Parked van beside toilet block to check in when this chap thought he would have another rant, about face masks this time, as I approached office with my mask in hand. Again no need to be so rude. When I checked in lady said I did not have any choices of pitch as only 1 available for me! One night can’t be a problem surely? Wrong!! Pitch was directly in front of play area/ cage. Took van off site for a few hours to get away from flying balls. On my return same issues with kids and balls till about 10 o clock!! Definitely not the kids faults no way should a camp site be so greedy to put 2 pitches in front of a play area. Didn’t see the attraction of the site as nothing close by. My first visit to site but won’t be returning.

Another great stay

We have stayed here many times and it never disappoints, always kept clean and tidy and a great location for the beach which is great for dogs as you can take them all year round and it is very quiet, we look forward to coming back to the site again.
