Lovely site

We stayed at this lovely site for one night, but wish we had been able to stay longer.  It is fantastic.  The facilities are very clean and the pitches are enormous.  Unfortunately, we arrived in the middle of a thunderstorm, so didn't get to look around as much as we would have liked. The wardens were very friendly and helpful.  Will definitely return for a longer stay.  Excellent

Great sight

Stayed here for three nights in June the sight was lovely and met some nice friendly people. The site is well looked after by the cheerfull warders and the toilet blocks and laundry and dishwashing areas were always clean and tidy there was also a bus stop a five minute walk from the site   You could get a day rider ticket  for 4 pounds which would take you to burnham on sea.weston supermare .Taunton and bridge water  look forward to visiting here again soon

Very nice site, in quite a busy camping area

Firstly, this is an excellent site which is well kept by the wardens who are really helpful and friendly. The access to the site is down narrow country lanes past other caravan sites. These other sites (and the funfair in Berrow) provide quite a bit of ambient noise to the Hurn Lane site - which itself is quite quiet. The whole area seems to have been developed for the caravan holidayer.  For us the attraction of this site did not lay in Berrow or Burnham on Sea, which are busy resorts but in places like Wells and Cheddar.  The site is located close to the sea but you have to walk down one of the narrow lanes & across dunes to get there & there is not a dog walk on site (but there again you have the whole beach, which allows dogs). Be aware that the dune path is also a bridleway. The site was immaculate and as big site there was lots going on. The facilities were clean and tidy the grounds were well kept. The grass pitches are very large and generous making it easy for this "T5 & Vango" combo to pitch, but the hardstanding places tend to get snapped up quite quickly! Like others have reported here, I couldn't get the CC Wifi to connect satisfactorily but had a decent 3/4G connection from my own personal mobile broadband. TV signal is good as well. I would return to this site, it would be an ideal stopping off place on the way to Cornwall but the site will be busy during the holiday season and access from the M5 could be time consuming. I am glad we stayed and we will return.

Great Site

We stayed at Hurn Lane club site for just one night on our way to Devon. It was a lovely site, everyone was very friendly. It is a great site for families, my 2 children even took part in a treasure hunt, they loved it! We will definitely stay at Hurn Lane again.

What a shame

What a shame I have work tomorrow...I would have happily stayed here another week. Fantastic site, location is great for families, just a short walk to a beach and brean entertainment. The site itself is great and the wardens friendly and helpful. No fully serviced pitches, but perfect little place for a getaway. wifi signal is poor at cetain times of day, but fine first thing in the morning up till mid afternoon.  tv reception was great too.  The only downside really is there isn't enough showers for the size of the site which often meant a queue, but it's certainly going on the favourite list now as one to go back to.  Enjoyable stay and will be coming back again soon

Whitweek short stay

Second time of staying on this site, first was approx 6 years ago. Location is ideal for access to Brean and surrounding area. Site is clean and shower block is modern. Just a few things to mention, no dog walk which unfortunately means a walk along a country road which can be quite dangerous at times. The wifi signal is poor and although purchased access was unable to log on to the internet. However TV signal was excellent.

Nice short break

We stayed at this site over the late May bank holiday weekend.  We arrived a little late due to traffic on the M5 and had only choice of 2 pitches.  The grass pitches in the middle are somewhat difficult to get onto if, like us, you don't have a motor mover.   Once pitched up we had a little walk down to the beach with our kids and dogs.  It is down a road and then a path through the dunes, the road can be busy at times but it isn't very long.   As other reviews have said the shower block is looking a bit shabby and is need of updating but is kept clean by the wardens.  Speaking of the wardens, they are very friendly and helpful and my son enjoyed the Tourer Explorer pack and treasure hunt (he's 10 years old).   The only downside is that there are no aerial boosters on the power point hook ups but the tv signal seemed good enough for our aerial to pick up so it wasn't a problem.   The site is surrounded by other holiday camps but the noise didn't seem to travel to where we were pitched in the middle of the site.   All in all a nice site but a dog walk would be a lovely addition in the future if possible.

May Day long weekend

We stayed here for a long weekend over MayDay - it's our second visit to this site. If you are familiar with the area then you know what to expect. The area ticks all the boxes for family's with young children to keep them occupied. It's approx 15 mins walk to the beach if you are fit and able to walk through the dunes. I think the wardens have changed from last year and we found them helpful and seemed to be hard working - the site was kept very well maintained by them. The only critism we have is that the smaller of the two shower blocks is getting a little dated now and could perhaps do with an update. Although it is kept very clean by the site staff. God willing we may go back this time next year.

pleasant enough site.

Stayed from 6th April to the 25th April. Wardens seemed friendly enough. Toilet/showers and washing up facilities always appeared clean (despite it being full of kids off for Easter). Didn't try any of the attractions of Brean (if it has any). Confined myself to strolls with the dog along the nearby Burrow Sands reserve and along the footpath near the golf course. It is a site probably more suited to families with small children. I was initially apprehensive of staying there over the school holiday period. However, the children on site were well enough behaved and even very polite. Having had the misfortune to stroll through a couple of other nearby caravan sites, I would say that if a seaside holiday floats your boat, then we are fortunate to have Hurn Lane.

Worth a visit

After reading some of the reviews it was with some trepidation that we arrived at Hurn Lane, however, we received a warm welcome, newspapers are to order and the basics available and herbs growing in pots outside for all to use. Admittedly the site was quiet, but we had no problems with the shower block and there was plenty of hot water.  Walk to the beach was good for the dogs. Agree though about the lane, which was hazardous at times when walking the dogs. Good bus service to either Burnham or Weston and dogs go free. In Burnham - for those with dogs, the Bay View Cafe allowed them in as did the Waterfront Cafe Bar (just does rolls but we had a cup of tea there as it was getting cooler) and there is a covered area on the pier if you buy food there. The Victoria  and the Somerset and Dorset pubs also allow dogs in but we did not go in). Would recommend the fishmongers along the main street.  If you do go to Weston it initially seemed there were only a few dog friendly places and three of them are by the Marine Lake which is worth walking to and walking across the causeway. We went on the terrace at the Terrace Cafe Bar and next door there is the C (cannot remember the name) Vaults which I believe takes dogs too and the other side of the lake there is Dr Fox's, though we did not sample either. Walking back we passed a cafe - opposite the Tourist Info - that allowed dogs in. We had a cup of tea outside one of the beach cafes and they were very welcoming with fresh water for the dogs but I cannot recall if they would have been allowed inside.
