Slightly disappointed

The pitches on the grass side of the site has a toilet block which is in need of updating, the staff keep it clean but it is in need of a sort out.  Once you turn off the main road the lane becomes narrower and narrower, if you have a large van it could be a problem making the turn from the lane onto a smaller lane to the site, there is a large hole in the road deep enough to do damage to your van. That though is the responsibility of the local council. This was our first visit and we would return so maybe the issues I have raised are being looked at. By far the worst thing is the wifi, it is a 'gold site' and I paid £25 for a years access even though a local pub and supermarkets give you access or free. It is awful at best, difficult to log on, poor strength etc and as for sending photo's forget it. The caravan club needs to raise it's game.

First Visit

This was our first visit to the site and indeed the area. I was a bit concerned when i saw all of the other sites in the area. However, how wrong i was, what a nice peaceful rest i had. The wardens were lovely and the site was kept very well. The beaches were excellent. definitely on the list sites to revisit.

Our first ever caravan trip

We had only just got our first ever caravan and we chose this site as it was fairly close to home if we had any issues. We chose well, great site, good location and some very friendly staff. We met some other guests who offered help and advice (I think they could tell we were newbies ha ha). We will definitely visit this site again.

We cannot fault the cleanliness of the site, and the wardens were very friendly and helpful. However we were very disappointed with the location, it has been spoilt by row upon row of campsites and static caravans, making us feel we were in Butlin Land. There was nowhere safe to walk the dogs and let them off lead, as we were warned of sinking sand on the beach and mud. The walk at Brean, we were told was extremely dangerous for dogs as they lose one a month, so I am sorry to say we will not be returning.

We enjoyed staying at this site.  Toilets/showers were clean and well kept,  shower cubicles were slightly narrower than other caravan club sites we have been on.  Wardens were very friendly.  We were in a motorhome with no other form of transport and don't mind walking,  we would have liked a pub or restaurant nearby.

Dated Toilets/Showers

We have stayed at this site previously and all was good, we opted to stay in the grass field this time as main field was extremely busy. I did find the toilet block/ showers very dated and in need of renovation. The mere fact that I am only 5' 1" and couldn't reach the ridiculously high shelf to place my shower gel etc and no alternative at a lower level... all laughable really. I do think the plastic stool arrangement should be replaced by the more usual fixed seat, giving more space for drying. Also a hand rail would be good in each shower. Whilst not ready for the disabled shower we do all need a little more help as we get older. Otherwise, apart from a bit grumpy female warden, it was fine!

June stay 2016

Site had good security with barrier system. Needs more hardstanding pitches. Shower block in need of a serious refit - I have never been in such small cubicles! Good location and great wardens.

Selfish members.

It was quite busy when we arrived and we had a spotted a pitch which we fancied only to find a disabled sign, so we pitched nearby. Several other members did the same as we had done then moved on. Then a motor home driver, with car in tow pulled up and used the pitch. They seemed very fit and well and it just makes me cross as how selfish some people can be! Have used the site many times (as a transit stop) but wonder if the club can persuade the local council to repair the junction of Hurn Lane and Red Road. It is a dodgy r/h turn when leaving the site towing and now with the deterioration of the road the centre part is full of rather deep holes, not ideal so it is tempting to cut the corner as we did fortunately without incident. Excellent stay however as always. Thankyou

Spacious

Plenty of space around the pitch, not as bad to get to as I thought it would (after reading others reviews ). Bit of noise from aircraft flying to and from airports but soon got use to it and did not bother us. Will use this in future when in that area. Toilets and the site very clean.
