Disappointed

On one of new full service pitches for a weekend break. Disappointed near toilet block not open, we were hoping to check it out as it has been refurbished. Why?

Hurn Lane

We used Hurn Lane as a stop over for 3 nights on our way to Devon, the staff were friendly and very helpful and the site was upto the usual club standards. We would certainly use the site again but only as a stop over, there was some noise from the adjacent holiday site next door but it was not a problem

A brief stop over in September

We chose this site as a stop off point between Cornwall and the north west as it was close to the motorway. The usual expected standards for a CC site, well maintained areas, safe security but previous comments mention the toilet block looking tired, personally we found them to be clean with hot showers, so that's all you need. Welcoming staff on arrival with a small shop for the basic essentials. We didn't use the dog walk area as the beach was so close. This was a fantastic 6 mile dog friendly beach within walking distance of the site and with very few people on it. The route in was along Red Road, this is a country road but its ok with passing points, a real gem of a site, quiet and relaxing, so perfectly ideal for breaking up a long journey.

Excellent site

One overnight stay only in September 2017 and only briefly on the site. However, I was very impressed with the site and would certainly stay again. Very neat and well maintained. Convenient for the M5. Make sure you follow directions in the members guide, sat nav may take you down narrow lanes. Excellent blackberries on the path to the beach! (Have rated four stars for families as I had to fill in this field but in truth, I wasn't looking out for this facility and as such, I don't know.)

Good site for exploring

I have been to this site on 2 occasions and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this site. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. This site makes a great base for exploring the area and we done just that even going to Cardiff. The only problem I have with the site is the same one I have with all sites and that is parents allowing their children to speed around on their bikes going "against" the traffic. parents for some reason seem to think that once on a club site children are safe from being injured by cars.

Good sight

We used this site on the way to Cornwall and stopped off at the beginning and then on the return at the end as half way. It was very convenient. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The shower blocks that we used were updated and very good. The site is very close to the beach which is dog friendly. Definitely use this site again.

What a let down

We stayed on this site for ten nights from July 19th to July 29th 2017. I wish I had read the site reviews before going there! To say we were disappointed would be an understatement. Staying on only Caravan Club sites we expect the usual high standard on everyone of them. The actual site was up to Caravan Club standards with the usual friendly and helpful staff but the area in which it is situated left a lot to be desired. The site is surrounded with other types of static caravan holiday parks and was noisy. We were warned at one point not to go into town on Saturday night as " it can get a bit rough". The on site dog walk is not a walk. It is only somewhere for the dogs to do their toilet. It is L shaped and I estimate the whole dog walk area to measure five meters by fifteen meters by four meters wide. The beach is fifteen minute walk away and at least there the dogs can get to run about. NOT IMPRESSED!

1st time at Hurn Lane

A little bit late with this review as I was at this site two weeks ago. It was my first visit and I chose the site for its location between Burnham and Weston as I intended to use my bike to explore whilst I was there. The site did not disapoint as it was up to the very good standards that you find on every C&M Club site, the wardens were very helpful and welcoming especially informing me about best cycle routes in the area. A brand new one had just opened (July) that took you through a nature reserve to Weston, which once you'd got through Brean was traffic free and gravel pathed, wonderful. It was about 15mins cycling to Burnham, about 25mins to Brean Head and about 40mins to Weston all relatively flat and easy going. The site itself was quite large and well spaced split into two seperate areas and in close proximity to a large mobile home park that could sometimes generate some noise but nothing that put me off. The beach is within close walking distance and once on the beach you can go left for Burnham or right for Brean Head. Cars and Motorhomes are allowed on the beach (cost involved) and you can also cycle the full length of it. I will definately visit again as I had a great time cycling around covering 50 miles in the week I was there. Burnham is a lovely little town with all you need in the way of provisions and for the big shops just head for Weston and its expansive promenade and eateries.
